Beautiful creature. They are none venomous, and they eat the venomous spiders and insects. They don't even use webs to catch their food. They legit hunt for there food. They will leave you alone if you leave them alone. And they deserve respect.
I really wish I wasn't scared of them, even knowing that they aren't dangerous still doesn't make it easier🤣if I know where it is at all times and if it's far enough away it's fine. But I would die if that was next to my head when I woke up🤣
@@k_bosh0256 maybe get an enclosure for it, in like the middle of your living room or something, keep it in for a few days and then take the top off so he’ll feel inclined to stay in the enclosure and it’s almost like you’ve got a little pet.

Mostly true except for the they’re leave you alone part…when my Aunty was a kid she was getting ready for school and saw a huntsman spider on the ground in another room. She walked away and it started chasing her, and it chased her into her room and ran up her leg 😂 I guess that was just an evil spider but som of them do chase you
When you see pictures of Australias beaches, harbors, forests, reefs, out back, Aborigines you are like it's the most beautiful and want to go there, then you research animals and insects then sea life you are like nope too dangerous. No wonder Australians are so tough.

They can move faster than lightning and bite cockroaches in half in the blink of an eye (I used to keep one as a pet in a container back in my WTF days).

Looks like it's eating something. Brown mass under its carapace, and it's pedipalps are tucked like it would when turning prey around in it's fangs. This is a beautiful specimen, huntsman are such gentle giants.

These guys are super docile. They don't do much at all and certainly will not jump at you. I had a big one on my living room walls recently, but I haven't seen it for a couple of days. If they ever annoy me, I just ask them politely to crawl into a big plastic bag and release it outside. The big ones are aren't difficult to catch, but the younger ones are sometimes too fast when they get a fright and won't co-operate. I normally get on well with the spiders in my place.
I am so afaid of spiders, glad I live where it's cold, our spiders are little, compared to that "BEAST" of a spider!! The fangs are bigger then ours, thanks for the nightmares. 😳

@@bergamothecrusher9713 LOL, yeah they can't kill a human being. Their bite will only make you feel sick for a day or two. But they eat venomous spiders and insects. I've had many of these spiders living with me in my household.

A few months back my family moved on rent to this considerably old house. The house was old enough for the ceiling to get worn down in some places, so there were some holes gaping into the void here and there. The first few days were fine and then came the horde of spiders. I've got to give my arachnophobic ass a medal for managing to wait in that house for that long. The highest record for spiders seen was 7 full sized ones in a single fucking day. We lived in terror (or maybe just me) like that until my parents got sick of my screams and decided to call the pest control. Once the pest control team stuck their head up the ceiling they said that there was apparently a 'spider colony' living up there ??? And asked us to leave for a day until they were done. Also they said they were left with a literal pile of dead huntsman spiders once they were done ?? That many goddamn spiders !?!? Also after doing some research, huntsmans allegedly do form colonies which is absolutely fucking terrifying..
At least I get to sleep now

The huntsman around my house are more of a dark brown colour
Yes there are so many different types of huntsman in australia, there’s like at least a dozen genus and in each genus there’s usually over a dozen species. I can tell that the genus of the spider in the video is likely a isopeda, could be a whole range of species though. They’re common name is just the grey huntsman.
