Family of mine that live on stewart island know him personally. I went fishing with him and my extended family for blue cod. Never caught so many blue cod in my life

Try both is you can. Blue cod and Paul beautiful. If you're ever in NZ, head down to Bluff or Riverton for some of the best seafood ever. I recommend some Bluff oysters too.
Pāua is pronounced;
Pā, - ma + pa
ua, - wa pronounced like ma and pa but with a w.
The secret to tender pāua is very high heat then butter, once pan is off the heat for at least 5mins. Garlic added, next level food. Loved the fish cooked in bull kelp.
