10:21 No, she is actually 4'10"! And the rest of your laudations apply! 🤯 On the one hand, it is refreshing to have someone pay attention to this newer Live version of "Swan Song". But, like a million of people will have said, for reasons unknown, the piano was not mic'ed properly for this one. Thus, the 2020 version is still mandatory listening for new emotional experience of this music... and the intro "Revolutionary etude" by Frederic Chopin, performed by Miyako, builds the melodic framework for the whole song to follow. So it is almost indispensable too. :) Listen at your own pleasure, or react again, we will be happy!
LOL.... The tallest of them (Fami) is 5'2", amd Miyako is about half a centimeter shorter than Fami! Asami - 147 cm Fami - 160 cm Haruna - 146 cm Midori - 150 cm Miyako - 159.5 cm
@@One808 I thought I read that as well. Thanks for confirming that for me. I mentioned that once and was criticized for it. I know there are other songs where one version is slightly different than another to give another member some air time (pin point on their playing). Miyako is a very unselfish person. Lover her and the others as well.
@ If they are OK with that, then I am as well. Though it strikes me as somewhat odd that the sound could not be balanced optimally in this case. Personally, I also thought I heard Midori just fine in the 2020 version. Well, no big deal, every fan knows all those notes, even if they are dialed down! ;)
Definitely check out the version with the Chopin introduction. Not only do you get to see Miyako playing Chopin (which is reason enough to watch it), the sound mixing at the end of the Chopin version is much better with the piano able to be clearly heard as soon as Miyako starts playing. Unfortunately in this version, you can't even hear Miyako playing the piano until all the other instruments stop.
Indeed, I instantly missed it, too. No matter how much I appreciate any LOVEBITES reaction video to this song: the Chopin intro is sort of "mandatory" for me.
If you're talking about SWAN SONG, isn't this version better? The vocalist has been studying classical ballet for a long time since she was 3 or 4 years old, so her movements are graceful and beautiful. The main guitarist has also been studying classical piano for a long time since she was 3 or 4 years old, so she has the skills of a soloist. There are many musicians like this in Japan. They certainly do have the full package. 👏👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 Haruna "little BIG Engine" drums (4'9"; 1.45m) Asami "The One & Only Voice" vocals (4'10"; 1.47m) Midori "Crazy Shredder" guitar (4'11"; 1.5m) Miyako "The Golden Touch" guitar/piano (5'2"; 1.58m) Miho "Natural Born Head-Banger" bass (5'1"; 1.55m) 2016-2021 Fami "Shining Fingers" bass (5ft 3in)2022-present nicknames given by the band
Some knowledge of history is necessary to understand the meaning of the lyrics of this song. In 1831, some officers and citizens rose up against the Polish government, which was under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, leading to a revolution known as the “November Revolution,” which ended in failure due to the direct intervention of Russian troops. Chopin received this news during a performance tour. He never set foot on the soil of his homeland again. When the Russians invaded Warsaw, Chopin's representatives presented “Etude OP10, No. 12” in Paris. Franz Liszt, a friend of Chopin, named it the “Revolutionary Etude. Miyako (guitar/keyboards) composed “Swan Song” based on this “Revolutionary Etude” and Dvorak's “New World Symphony. Asami (vocalist), a former ballerina, wrote the lyrics inspired by Norse mythology and the ballet suite “Swan Lake,” based on the historical background of ““Revolutionary Etude. SwanSong” is a requiem for the warriors who fought to reclaim their homeland, a masterpiece that only Love Bites could complete.

Asami isn't 5' 6", she is 4' 10". Doesn't destroy your argument though. Yes, Asami controls the room when performing live. Up to the last row of the audience! It's fascinating!
Very good words. That is exactly, why she is "the Japanese answer to Britain's Bruce Dickinson" to me. Exactly his skills: Amazing vocal abilities and front person, and handling the crowd as if he also meant every one in the last row of the audience.
Ok, lots of people have told you. So I'll just add that it will NOT be redundant for you to do the one with Chopin's Revolutionay Etude as the opener. It's different experience.
Good reaction ! This only thing is, this video does not show Miyako's (lead guitarist/pianist at stage left) Chopin piano intro that adds another dimension to this neoclassical metal masterpiece's LIVE performance. To really appreciate Miyako's genius, check this version out in your own time : th-cam.com/video/WBhtqgiXEA4/w-d-xo.html
I totally agree - Miyako is an awesome pianist, but unfortunately this version lacks the Chopin etude at the beginning and the piano is sort of lost in the mix at the end. However, Midori's fantastic solo stands out better in this one.
Thanks for checking out this amazing band! Miyako has been playing the piano since she was just 3 years old, and picked up the guitar when she turned 18. Her piano skills are truly incredible! If you’re in the mood for another great Lovebites song with Piano, I would like to invite you to check out "Lost in the Garden." th-cam.com/video/CX3MzG36Cyw/w-d-xo.html Enjoy!
Miyako the Golden Touch. In this version of the song you can barely hear the piano at the end. There is another version of the song not on their channel where you can hear the piano a lot better, plus she does a piano intro for it as well. th-cam.com/video/6wSjZnbYPdw/w-d-xo.html
Thanks a lot for that link. I cannot possibly understand, how this version here made it into the public at all. In my opinion, it 's just "a mess", way below LOVEBITES' merch quality level.
6:38 Bad mixing of Miyako's piano contribution at the end. What a pity. Bad music video? Bad live sound engineering? Miyako's piano intro is missing, and at this point we can hardly hear her outro. What a "mess". 😞

The reason the piano is mixed down is that Miyako specifically wanted to ensure that Midori's solo at the end was heard properly.

TOMORROW 1/26 IS LOVEBITES' FIRST LIVE OF THE YEAR. I'm going to Zepp Fukuoka!!️
Oh, oh, no "Chopin intro". Good version, but the 2020 version "with Chopin intro" is benchmark!

A masterpiece song, but the 2020 version with Chopin Intro is the one you'd want to do.

Epic, majestic. Masterpiece of fine art. Great reactions guys🤘👍

If this was the last day you could live on this earth
Would you still go on, accusing someone for today
It’s better to fail than not do anything at all
It is not the length, but depth of life that counts
Oh brave soldier

Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all

You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song
The legend of the swan
If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been through despair
Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to never care
You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life
Sometimes the life of one can save so many more
Oh brave soldier
Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul

A true MASTERPIECE and the 2020 live version is even more impressive. Features Miyako on piano doing Chopin intro. Well done. 🤘

@rainerzufall42 Das stimmt.

Simple truth! There is a difference. 🐺

I haven't heard songwriting this solid since I discovered Symphony-X a long time ago.
I believe she's 4'10
Please watch the Chopin intro one for us.
