    What a fantastic idea to put the flours in a food processor with the blade to make them finer. Thank you!

    Hello Danielle,I have ulcerative colitis, too and I am very excited about your website and your "dedicated" cooking.Could you answer me a question? I used to love milk chocolate and filled chocolates, that I am not allowed to eat anymore. But at the same time I "hate" dark chocolate.Could you create a recipe for people who are longing for a (healthy) "softer" chocolate taste? Or could you tell me which of your (still existing) recipes I could give a try? Unfortunately, to me many of them seem to be very strongly chocolatey?Thank you.

    I've followed you for years and have never made these because I could've sworn the recipe calls for tahini and I always thought that sounded strange. I'm definitely going to make these now! 😁

    • @Againstallgrain
      @Againstallgrain  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      This video is for my original recipe which is on the blog and in my first book. The version you're referring to is in my second book, Meals Made Simple and uses tahini because it is specifically nut-free! That being said, you wouldn't even know there's tahini in it with the end product!

    These are so wonderful! I only get the course almond flour and I agree that the texture is not the same, but the taste is. I will have to try the ice cream sandwiches sometime if I can manage to keep the cookies around long enough. ;)

    • @Againstallgrain
      @Againstallgrain  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha it's definitely tough keeping them around that long!

    These are amazing!! Everyone loved them but in your book it didn't called for the flour. But I loved them all the same .

      Hi Angela- So glad you liked them! I'm thinking you must have my second book, Meals Made Simple! :) The recipe in the video is my original Real Deal Chocolate Chip Cookie which you can find on my blog and in my first book Against All Grain. The recipe in Meals Made Simple is nut-free, coconut flour-free and can be made egg-free and is called my Real Deal Chocolate Chip Cookie 2.0!

    Hi Danielle, are coconut crystals the same as coconut sugar?

    can't wait to try these!! i've been searching for a "real" chocolate chip cookie recipe for what feels like forever. i'll have to do it in a stand mixer (kitchen-aid)...will that make any difference? i don't have a food processor - mine died.

    • @Againstallgrain
      @Againstallgrain  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like the food processor because it super grinds the flours. You can try the kitchen aid - just make sure you get a very fine almond flour i.e. I like the wellbees superfine almond flour- bit.ly/2DaPPll

    I've made these and they are sooo good! If I freeze them, do they get soggy if I let them thaw out, or should I warm them up in the oven? Thank u! Ur so pretty!

    • @Againstallgrain
      @Againstallgrain  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! I'm so glad you like them. They do not get soggy :) I often freeze them and end up eating them frozen (try it, it's delicious). But you can also freeze them and thaw at room temp.

    • @Againstallgrain

    I just found your channel and need to go grain free just ordered your book and can't wait to get it. What is palm shortening and where do I get it?

    • @Againstallgrain
      @Againstallgrain  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hope you love there recipes Linda! The most common brand is called Spectrum which you can find at most any health food store and some other grocery stores. It says "Organic All Vegetable Shortening" on the front but if you look at the ingredients it's just palm oil. Here's a link to it-- Spectrum Organic Shortening - 24 oz just make sure whatever palm shortening you do go with that is doesn't have red palm oil or coconut oil in it!

      I accidentally purchased shortening with red palm oil and coconut oil in it!!! Would that really affect the outcome of cookies and do you have any recipes that would call for that kind of shortening (that way I can get some use out of it)? Thanks and can't wait to try these cookies out!

    Is there a way to make these just as good without the egg?

    • @Againstallgrain
      @Againstallgrain  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally, I haven't tried any egg replacements. I hear that a chia-egg, flax-egg, or applesauce in place of it will work though.

  • @desertdove4960
    @desertdove4960 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is it ok to use a flax egg?

    We have nut allergies. Anything I can use in place of Almond Flour? :)

    • @Againstallgrain
      @Againstallgrain  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you can tolerate cashew flour you could use that or any other nut flour you can tolerate, or you could use sunflower seed flour in place of the almond flour.

    I made some cookies using almond flour from Wellbees and it had a weird aftertaste. any idea what it could have been?

  • @alizaaskari8911

    can we use spelt or oat flour?

    • @Againstallgrain
      @Againstallgrain  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately, these cookies were specifically created without the use of grains so I'm not too sure! I don't know how it would perform in conjunction with the coconut flour.
