My first marathon was in the original tempus. I will have to keep version 2 in mind when needing a tempo/long run shoe replacement
Yeah no rush as it’s exactly the same
Your timing on this video is perfect, as I just did my morning run in version one. I don’t have any stability needs so this was somewhat of an additional shoe to my rotation. I have enjoyed using it and currently have roughly 270 miles on it. I don’t find the PowerRun PB as responsive as in the Speed, but it has served its purpose. I am particularly pleased with the outsole, which to date shows virtually zero wear. I plan on wearing them to at least 400 miles. They are a particularly useful shoe when I travel, as their versatility allows me to wear them several days in a row.
I know many people found the arch uncomfortable, but I actually really appreciate the strong arch support on the Tempus. I do need the stability due to the low arch on my feet, and I have 2 pairs of the V1 and they helped me recover from injuries. Really enjoyed them.
There are very limited choices for stability shoes that can run fast. Have anyone compared the Tempus with the Hyperion 2 GTS? They are the two fast stability shoes that both received positive comments.
The arch support killed me in this shoe
Agreed on the benefit of the arch in this shoe - I have several Saucony models (Guide, Hurricane, Speed 3) and if I had to keep only on it would be the Tempus, partly because of the arch.
Thanks for confirming my suspicions Fordy! I'm very relieved to have found a replacement pair of V1s before they disappear now. I can understand why they might not have wanted to mess with a formula that's been so popular but like you had hoped they they might've done more in terms of foams and a 3/4 plate.
You’re welcome ☺️
I had version which I liked, but couldn’t get a second pair as stocks had been down ready for V2 coming out.
Decided to buy the Kinvara Pro at a discounted price of £130…….absolutely love them. Glad I didn’t wait for V2 tempus 😊
Love the pro
v1 is great, i am on my 4th pair. a few things that made a big difference are (1) after my second pair i started buying half a size up and it was a big improvement, and (2) the foam feels great (i.e. nice and bouncy) in warm weather but too hard in cold weather. when the temp drops i reach for something else.
Great take. Yeah the mid sole looks the exact same. Might have to look at the previous model discounts
Defo
Having done over 600 miles in my Saucony Tempus V1’s, I was very happy to have got the version 2’s this week. To me, the upper seems a bit thinner, but the tongue is thicker. The left shoe was tight on my left foot (wasn’t like that on the v 1’s) at my usual size 6, but I think they’ll break in after a while and be awesome.
All your videos have good info and look forward to them. On my sixth pair of Tempus one. Have run anywhere from 1 mile to 57 miles in them. Only shoe my feet like. Will be doing a hundred miler(canal path) in 3 weeks in them. So for now no upgrade until I can’t find the first version.
Another shoe to bypass. Fordy you’re saving me money👍
I ran my first pair of original Tempus into the ground - about 300 miles - and loved them except for their poor wet-weather grip and taking about 40-50 miles to really break in. The only change I was hoping for with the new version was for the rubber and tread patterns from the latest Endorphin Speed on the outsole - bit disappointed with v2 TBH.
Thanks for this information, Fordy. Like. Have a good day.
Thank you
I pounded through 2 pairs of the original and loved them as all-around shoes. I was disappointed to see that the v2 is no longer available in wide sizes. Major fail. Though that did allow my brain to admit that I was only getting about 200 good miles out of them before I had obliterated the medial support and ended up injuring myself. I just ended up switching to the Asics GT 2000 13 and love them for the same reasons I love the original Tempus, but they actually seem to keep my feet centered better.
And honestly, if Saucony decided that the wide sizes weren't selling well enough, maybe they should have offered them in colorways that weren't so incredibly ugly...
Fair enough
im on my second pair of Tempus. its a good trainer but its not a super trainer or super shoe so the price makes no sense.
our favourite Geordie supplier still has my size of Tempus 1 for 99.
Yeah not a super trainer
Plated trainer with PWRRUN pb and mild support, hmmm, why does it sounds familiar
ES4: hold my beer😂
There you go
I really wanted to love the first version but my right arch used to blister to the point I couldn’t run at all
what shoes do you use that don't have this issue? I randomly have this with one pair of my shoes but not others
@@The_Bearded_Dan I have most Saucony. Ride 17, Speed 4, Pro 3, Triumph 22 and most of the previous models that I’ve mentioned. It’s only the right arch of the Tempus I’ve had this issue.
Yeah it’s a nightmare
Tempus is very good, bought the 1 for 80 quid in Thailand. Buy Speed 4 next.
Love it
little part of me was hoping to see a layer of HG, colours heading into winter not great unlike with the neo vista black/silver very visible in the dark.
Tempus 1 is for me the worst disappointment from Saucony. Ever. For me it's all EVA, couldn't find a trace of a PB foam. Kayano 30 is so much better shoe, allegedly all EVA, but I doubt it. They did something with that foam which makes it so much better than the standard EVA. These days it's almost all about the foam. The rest is just small tweaks in one or the other direction. Except...
A year ago I purchased (at huge discount) Saucony Elite and then got injured. Which I still suffer are recovering from. But I tried it twice in the meantime. Man, that's amazing shoe. Works at any pace for me. Incredibly stable and the rolling is just crazy. Foam is not as good as Adidas Lightstirke pro, but it is still very good. I think it's obvious that different people are designing different shoes in the same company. I can't explain otherwise how Tempus and Elite are made by the same company.
Interesting take. My go-to is Asics but hate kayano 30 onwards and love the Tempus. It's like a hyped up Kayano 29 IMHO. Each will work for someone and not for others.
@@IanTatman If you like a shoe firm as a brick, Tempus is excellent.
I’m also very disappointed about the lack of a wide version. I love my old tempus, but it’s starting to die after 1100km. I was really looking forward to the version 2, but now I need to look somewhere else 😢 Even the first version I can’t get in my size anymore - sold out.
Any recommendations for something similar? Novablast 4?
Not everyone wants a plate Fordy. These are a great shoe for what they do but i agree that its an emperor's new clothes update😂
Looks like someone’s been having fun with the editing tools… 😂
i bought the first version but i had to return it as the shoe does not work well with my feet .It feels uncomfortable.
The arch
Could you run a marathon in it or would you recommend something different for someone who mildly overpronates?
I've run a marathon in them and they worked really well.
Just watch the arch I ran a half and was no prob so yeah be ok
@Dan-77 I ran chicago marathon in them and they were great
So after watching this video I happily spent $90 buy another pair of the V1.
There seems to be a trend at the moment Fordy for laces to be a different colour to the shoe and I just can’t cope with it !
Yeah I know what you mean
V1 Outsole is poor if it’s wet. I guess this is no better.
It’s the same
Was literally searching for this yesterday thinking “Fordy will prob drop a vid soon, not to fear”
Can always count on you for early saucony drops 🫡
They need to sort the arch out lol
Yep on v3
Tempus V1 upper was designed in hell.. Narrow toebox.. Painful tongue.. Donated to the local charity shop..
Oh boy
@@i.p2088 i loved it, for me It was absolutely brilliant and perfectly fit my feet. No need for an upper upgrade adding weight
Are we talking about the same shoes? The toebox on V1 is huuuuge!
Hmm. I feel like the toebox is rather roomy. One of the reasons this shoe works so well for me.
@@jenniferring6410 Ditto. Loved my Tempus’s and glad to get the version 2’s. I didn’t pay the £170 quoted by Fordy Runs, got them cheaper than that through England Athletics.
And... Not available in Wide this time !!!!!!
Oh wow
Painful intro, should come with a warning
🤣🤣🤣
