Yup, this movie's all over the place. I think it was a good call going for a fun tone. But they included like 16 characters and didn't even center the film around a tournament to explain why they are all in the same place. So they had to shoehorn them and their in game appearances into a war/James Bond movie. They do get them into their game looks in clever ways and they range from pretty damn spot on (Zangief, Vega) to passable (Bison, Guile, Ryu) to downright laughable (Blanka, Dhalsim, T-Hawk). I personally feel there's a bit of cheesy fun to be had with it. Raul Julia carried the movie even while dying of cancer at the time. It's worth a watch just for him I'd say. Say whatever you want but this movie, when it came out, for kids like me, playing Super Nintendo and, of course, Street Fighter 2 game (not even heard of Mortal Kombat during that period of time), was not only great, it was perfect. Today, yes, we can say, there are too many charecters, but then it was incredible to see all the characters we knew and loved (we actully didn't even know who Kami was, we played SF2 The World Warrior, and she was not in it). For a 10 year old kid this movie has everything - story, action, famous actors playing famous characters, explosions, jokes, good guys defeating bad guys, everyhing. Now, of course, a 40-year-old grown up man can't even call this a movie, it's not-that-high-budget B-movie with ridiculous plot, some miscasting, stupid dialogs and questionable action, but that 10-year-old kid inside him will always defend this great film and never forget what any videogame based movies ment for us back in early 90s. So Super Mario Bros the Movie, Street Fighter and, later, Mortal kombat, would always be masterpieces for which we always remain greatful and thankful. We had 'em and we loved 'em. I saw this in the theater when I was in high school. Lived in Georgia at the time and I still remember the Atlanta newspaper was one of the few sources that gave it a good review. Their critic gave it a “B”, saying it was campy fun. Yet IMO totally outclassed by the awesome Japanese anime Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. You guys HAVE to see that.
Glad to see u guys unearthing another gem. But u HAVE TO do Baseketball , it’s right up there withe style of humour u enjoy and it’s also done by the creators of South Park who are in the movie too :)
FUN FACT: The only Surname givan to these characters in this movie that stuck throughout the franchise thereafter is Ken Masters. Even worse, and what never stuck, were the first names. Guile's first name was William, Sagat's was Victor.
If you guys ever feel like doing anime for the channel, I recommend the Street Fighter II anime movie (there is no Street Fighter I movie). it's bananas but it's also one of those classic early 90s anime films that would always be part of all 3 anime movies available to rent at Blockbuster back in the day. Alongside Akira and a random hentai mislabeled as a children's film.
Raul Julia did a great job playing M Bison and the fact that he did it for his kids since they were Street Fighter fans made it even more special.

An official game was made for this movie it was titled " Street Fighter The Movie The Game "
😂😂😂
Be gald that they didn't include Akuma in the movie... WAIT what is that in the far winds?! *Street Fighter: The Movie The Game*
For you, the day StoryOfUsFinalDraft graced your TH-cam channel was the most important day of your life. But, for me, it was Superbowl Sunday. 🎬
