When Arnold went to Moscow in 1988 to film Red Heat, he said he only wanted to do two things, buy a fur coat for Maria Shriver and meet Yuri Vlasov, the legendary power lifter that inspired him to go into bodybuilding.
If he started Bodybuilding in 1988 how did he get 7 times IFBB Mr. Olympia, four times NABBA Mr. Universum and countless other Titels in the 70's??? By playing Popeye and eating spinach??? Questions over Questions.
Im pretty sure biggest inspiration for Arnold in case of bodybuilding was Reg Park. Yuri was inspiration for Arnold in powerlifting ;)
@@rmamon2554 Yuri Vlasov was an soviet heavyweight lifter from 50s, so Arnold was inspired by him whe he's beeing austrian teen
As a coffee drinker, my personal favorite quote is, "Look, Lady, I just got my coffee the perfect color. It's the only thing I've got going for me..."
Underrated Arnold action classic!! Great banter between the two lead actors and brilliant direction from the legendary Walter Hill. Thanks for reacting to this one!
Very underrated. This and Stallone's Lock Up are not mentioned enough.
"Gotta make someone a winner...just wasn't you. Twenty bucks."
Hahahahahaha
Great Movie. U have to watch Universal soldier 1992 with Van Damme.
Yeah that is a great movie love to see them react to more Van Damme movies.
There were several movies in the 80s and 90s that I remember James Belushi starred in:
"About Last Night" with Rob Lowe and Demi Moore,
"The Principal" with Louis Gossett Jr.,
"Red Heat" with Arnold,
"K-9"
and "Taking Care of Business".
This is a fun buddy cop action movie with plenty of action and laughs and one liners!
The composer of this film's soundtrack is James Horner which makes sense if you've seen 48 Hours as the music is very close to what is in that film.
Jim Belushi is the younger brother of the late John Belushi, who starred in Animal House and The Blues Brothers. Jim starred in the sitcom According to Jim. If neither of y'all have seen them, other Arnold Schwarzenegger films to watch include Pumping Iron, Last Action Hero, and Eraser
The argument between you two at the end was worth it. Now give him his $20 bucks. YOU"RE the one who who made the bet. Pay up!! :)
You guys have to watch "Tango and Cash"
I'll add Lockup and Cobra to this llist. Love all 3.
I love that movie is such a classic for me and my younger brother.
There are scenes from Moscow portraying Moscow. And there are scenes from Budapest portraying Moscow.
The first half of the opening scene was shot in Budapest's Rudas Thermal Bath. It features a brawl between naked men, including Schwarzenegger. The second half was shot in Austria because Budapest had no snow. The film shot in Moscow for four days, primarily at Red Square.
Despite obtaining permission to film in Moscow, the film crew was unsure about exactly where they could shoot; hence many "Moscow" scenes were eventually filmed in Budapest. For example, Buda Castle was used as the Soviet Ministry of home affairs.
There are more than 10 actors are hungarian, like the fake leg guy, Norbert Növényi, who is a Hungarian light heavyweight wrestling Olympic champion of the 1980 Summer Olympics, two times kickboxing world champion.
Arnold is loved in Russia for filming part of this movie there.
It's pretty incredible they even got to shoot some scenes in Russia during that time
@@hissatsu4937 Actually, apart from the Red Square scene, most of the locations were in Budapest (Hungary). The Soviet supporting characters were mostly Hungarian actors and extras.
Man Laurence Fishburne looks so young in this. I’m not sure if Jim just chose not to go the big time actor route, but he was doing a bunch of movies in the 80s/early 90s. He was never going to be his brother but if he wanted he could’ve been an actor that could be in a movie anytime he wanted if he’d had kept up the pace he was going at back then.
Still watch K-9 yearly.
Jim Belushi's hilarious quote "I lost money on Hagler!" is a direct reference to the epic world title boxing match between Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Sugar Ray Leonard in 1987, which Hagler lost to Leonard on a controversial split decision at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas that year. "Red Heat" came out the following year (1988) after that classic fight. 👍😁😁😁🥊🥊🥊🥊
I just know he must've ad-libbed that.
I was 20, went to Finland at the invitation of an exchange student I became great friends with. Saw this movie in Helsinki. First portion, spoken in Russian and subtitles in Finnish, I was completely lost. But, Chicago and Gina Gershon....that got me back into it. lol And by the end, loved the movie.
Fun Fact. the scene at the end not shown where Arnold gives a salute in red square was done quick and secretly because this was during the time of the cold war. So arnold and the director went to red square and filmed that scene as quick as they could before being discovered.
И вы конечно же верите в эту чушь. Ндааа... Вре ена идут, а антирусские стереотипы не меняются)
Arnold speaks fluent Russian as a second language.
@@duncancurtis5108 what a joke. He's Russian is terrible.
@zrentshian9346 80s movies with Anti-Soviet stereotypes were very popular. Even as an 12 year old back then I knew that this was ridiculous.
They did not have to film in secret.
This was at the time of "Glasnost & Perestroika", the very end of the cold war, and it was the first time a U.S. film team was allowed to shoot on Red Square at Moscow.
Some Russian fans of Schwarzenegger also looked him up there (although his movies officially weren't shown in the USSR …)
The Berlin wall fell the very next year and the Soviet Union dissolved two years after that.
The soundtrack was partly taken from the thriller "Gorky Park" (1983), another U.S. made movie set in Russia, it had the same composer working on it, James Horner.
Jim Belushi: America's Sweetheart. ❤
Jim Belushi had good movie k911 about German shepherd its copy of Soviet movie about German shepherd - with nikulin story line the same !
And Kurt Russell's "overboard" very good for reaction videos ! That movie have remake
Loved K-9. Never saw the sequels.
It's like seeing the T800 in a suit.
5:35😂😂😂
9:00 that will do it!
11:37 Gumby!
12:05 No touching Butt!
13:29 Famous Quote!
15:27 What!
16:17 he lives here!😅
20:04 Stupid!
26:00 Didn't make it Victor!
28:27 Swiss Cheesed him!
It was the first time the russian goverment allowed a Western Film Crew filming on the Red place in Moskow.
"I will pay you handsomely for my key"
Local locksmith: $49.99
This movie was directed by the Great Walter Hill who also directed The Warriors, 48 Hrs and many more….check out Southern Comfort for a Walter Hill classic.👍
Warriors....come out to play-ay.
Street of fire need to be watched
Walter Hill was one of the best action directors. And almost directed Alien but stayed only as a producer
@@cafeabasedecinema yeah executive produced all the aliens movies, means he can be a script doctor for all on them, Walter Hill can write some funny dialogues , he executive producer on the tales from the crypt series, he directed and wrote some episodes
From now on, if you ever have an empty container/bottle you must hold it aloft and say "cocainum". That's the lasting effect of 'Red Heat'.
КОКАИНУМ!
No matter what accent Arnold puts on he will always sound the same
@@busimagen Connery in Highlander: a Scott playing an Egyptian dude pretending to be a Spanish dude 😂
Ed O'Ross always played a great sleeze bag
Loved this film. I even had the computer game they released of it! (on the Amstrad)
Can't go wrong with some classic Arnold Schwarzenegger :)
One of my face Arnold movies of all time. Corny but fun as heck!!
recommend 48 hours and its sequel from same director also fun buddy cop action with eddie murphy and nick nolte
I assume you haven't yet done the last action hero because you're saving the best for last
"I SAY!... I'VE JUST KILLED A MAN!..." Love this movie!!!
Gotta watch Red Dawn (1984)
Hey guys. Good choice here with Red Heat. Ive been waiting. Worth the wait. You guys are awesome as always. In the beginning of the movie it was a steel mill and this is where they would go to work out and get warm on their breaks. Danko was undercover trying to find out where Viktor went because a few guys there knew him and knew where he was.
4:06 Danko's partner is Oleg Vidov (Олег Видов)
11:05 Man on the left is Savely Kramarov (Савелий Крамаров)
They were famous Soviet actors, especially Savely, an outstanding comedian, too bad they had to immigrate. And only they spoke proper Russian unlike the others.
I remember laughing my ass off while listening to other "russian" speech the first time i watched this movie. Well...i still laugh everytime i watch it 😂
What amuses me is the fact that you have two native Russian speakers at your disposal, go and ask them to help with writing dialogues in Russian...
Anyway, I'm glad the filmmakers didn't do it, otherwise it wouldn't be so ridiculously funny.
Also the Swedish Bodybuilder who was Arnies gym pal for years.
@@duncancurtis5108 Sven-Ole Thorsen, he's Danish if i'm not wrong and yes, he was the one who fights Arnie in the snow.
Fun fact: In the end of the fight he told Arnie about Victor's whereabouts, Druzhba Cafe (Кафе Дружба). Дружба/Druzhba means friendship in Russian, which is funny in this particular situation, it seems like Sven offers friendship to Arnie =)
@@user-uw6co3ki3eМой ответ пропал, похоже западникам не нравится, когда им указывают на их ошибки))
Finally! Someone gives "Do you know Miranda?" the respect it's always deserved as an all-time Arnie great.
Watch Predator next guys. Oh and yes The Terminator came out in 1984. Red Heat came out in 1988. Great reaction guys.
Guy at the front desk just got cast as Jonathan Kent in the new Superman movie
This movie was done in my hometown of Chicago.
I can't believe the twins haven't seen the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic...TWINS.
They have.

Give that man 20 bucks!
Fukn right! Why does this Arnold flick fly under everyone's radar? Love it!
Yes!!! One of my favorite movies. Underrated Arnold classic. Jim Belushi is great too! Very solid cast all around.
Red Scorpion (1988) ❤❤❤
Oh I almost forgot. You mentioned Timecop. Red Heat came out in 1988. Timecop came out in 1994. Schwarzenegger was a huge star before Van Damme was.
This may be the first movie I ever went to by myself. I was probably 13 or 14. Five blocks walk from my house. Great memory!!!
When are you bros going to finish Lethal Weapon?! Still waiting for part 4!
So the actor playing the desk clerk, Pruitt Taylor Vince is about to play Superman’s Earth father Jonathan Pa’ Kent in the upcoming film.
I only really remember this actor from playing henchman or evil slimy characters. It’s going to be interesting to see him play an ultimate great decent character like Pa’ Kent.
Next you need to watch
the principal. 1987
21:09 When he says "9.2mm," he's probably referring to 9mm Makarov (actual cartridge measurement is 9.2x18mm) which has ballistic effectiveness somewhere between .380 ACP and 9mm Parabellum. The gun that he's using is a customized Desert Eagle in .357 Magnum, so the bore diameter is basically 9mm. The director wanted something that had the aesthetics of a Walther P38 (which is German) but "bigger and meaner." I used to think they based the style on the CZ-52, a Cold War-era Czech pistol from the 1950s.
21:15 Two points. One: .454 Cassull (pronounced "ka-SOOL," it's French) might have been the most powerful handgun caliber in 1988. Correct me if I'm wrong. And two: .44 Special is more adequate for combat. .44 Magnum is for big game. Against humans, there's too much wasted energy. You can use .44 Special in a .44 Magnum revolver, but not in a semi-auto pistol like the Desert Eagle. A .44 Special snubnose was used in 'Manhunter'.
The stuntman that jumps out the window into the river is a friend of mine. S. Logan.
5:35 Cocainum 😂😂
Saw RED HEAT with my Dad when it came out Day One in Houston Texas Great Movie Holds Up have a copy on Blue Ray still love watching it.
Front desk guy begged for mercy while the train operator was being an angry jerk. Maybe he believed he was just a mercenary not a monster.
29:02 I'm sorry you guys didn't include Arnold's last sentence, which was important at the time when this movie came out: "We are police officers, not politicians. It's okay to like each other."
Make the bad guy settle the bet! 20 bucks is 20 bucks, man! 😁
The bad guy is willing to sell millions of dollars worth of coke but is too afraid to pay a criminal to pick the lock. The first honest criminal that only uses keys. No picking.
TWINS : Arnold AND Danny Devito!! Love the Channel Boys!!
5:30
In its rawest, purest form. Not Cocaine…
…but Cocainum!
Such bodybuilding gyms were illegal in the USSR so people used unofficial places including underground for them. That's why it looked weird.
I love how Arnold didn't even try to do a Russian accent.
He never tried to do the American accent as well, so no surprise
‘Red Heat’ is a Schwarzenegger classic! I love it. My greetings from Japan.
"Raw Deal" is another underrated Arnold movie!
For me, it is one of the top 5 Arnold movies. It seems to me (maybe I'm wrong) that this is less known among Arnold's classic movies compared to Predator, Commando or even Twins.
@MATT-2042 Of course, an avid Arnold-fan here. :)
Awesome Movie and Work Guys, Thanks!!! Greetings from Helsinki, Finland🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸
I need, you need, we all need KING OF NEW YORK (1990)
Great reaction 🔥💯
Every time when I see Arnold Schwarzenegger standing tall in that Russian uniform I'm thinking he's the "Russian Terminator."
Respect, soon you should have made a reaction to all of Arnie's movies, which I see with melancholy and am glad that you still have at least a few of his works ahead of you (OctoKrool & Arnie stuff is anytime an awesome combination).
The only movies I know of that you haven't done a reaction to yet would be "Collateral Damage" (2002), "Hercules in New York" (1969) and "End of Days" (1999), after that I can't think of any, but who knows, maybe some Arnie fans here know of more movies that you can react to.
I enjoyed your reaction as you show enough of the movie to follow the story unlike other channels. Subscribed!
I love your Arnold and Sly movie reactions the most :) I hope there are still Arnold movies you haven't seen yet :) Raw Deal maybe? Or how about Eraser?
Cheers ;)
I have never seen this before. And of course you guys got my interested❤.
Very very nice film😊😅🎉😂❤
You guy must watch RAW DEAL, you’ll definitely enjoy it.
I can barely wait for you to React to "Righteous Kill" starring Robert D' Niro & Al Pacino.
Good reaction and edit. Pay the man.
Cool ❤
80s & 90s Movie's Are The Best 💯
Nice 🤣💪
5:30 there it is 😆👍
Hello, check out a movie called, 1492: Conquest of Paradise.
Adventure/Drama (1992). It stars Gérard Depardieu, Siqourney Weaver, Armante Assante. It portrays a version of the travels to the New World by the Italian explorer Christopher Columbus and the effect this had on indigenous peoples.
Directed by Ridley Scott.
Love Arnold movie 🎥 ❤
Jim Belushi would later appear in another Schwarzenegger film, Jingle All the Way, as a mall santa that tries to rip off Arnold by selling him a defective turbo man
Similar to this movie, you should watch "48 Hours" and the sequel, "Another 48 Hours" with Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy.
Fun movie love the video octokrool stay motivated dream big 1 mill on the way
A couple good movies with Gina Gershon are Bound, the directorial debut of the Wachowskis, and Killer Joe, with Matthew McConaughey as a *really* bad guy.
A video game play through that would be cool do it for keith thurman ☝️
It’s an underground gym. It’s Fit Club 😂
5:29 was waiting for this 😅
Schwarzenegger: Next time take a cab!
That’s a regular analog wristwatch he’s wearing.
Why does it have an electronic alarm???
My favorite Arni movie.
I’m just here for the “cocainum”
There is one more Arnold movie after this one you two need to react to and its called Raw Deal it came out in 86.
One of arnold schwarzenegger best flims man o man i need to rewatch this again and buy it as well
Great reaction! Y'all should watch Three O'Clock High! Not an Arnold film, but great classic.
Wait was that movie really filmed in montreal? I'm from there!
5:36 ...."Cocainum"...🤣🤣🤣
Origami,
Gruzba,
Veektorr,
Cocainum!
“Capitalists….” 🤩🤩🤩🤩
