    I still do drive my original 1986 Opel Kadett E 1.3i regularly...this year 38 years old. ❤️

Seemed to me these guys usually mentioned the Toyota Tercel instead of the Corolla, which was more in line with the Civic, Sentra, Protege and Escort.

I owned a 1991 Pontiac LeMans which looked exactly like this car being tested but had Pontiac badges instead and that car was nothing but a basket case on four wheels and today you couldn't even get one of those cars to pass smog even if you tried because the parts for them to be able to smog are no longer available and nobody has them anymore and for good reason because none of these cars are still on the road anymore. 🤣🤣

I don´t know how bad the Daewoo really was, but quality was also a big issue with the "superior" european Kadett. Cheap plastics, rattly interiors and a not very rigid bodyshell were its main problems and they tend to rust after some years. The Kadett was the biggest rival of the Golf 2 at the time, but it could never keep up with it qualitywise. I comparison the Golf had the image of a "poor mans Mercedes" because it was so solid.

Yeah, and the model was 7 years old in 1991, so the end was already in view in Europe for the Kadett. Not to mention it was a real early 80's crisis-development-car. It had to be cheap.

It was built in South Korea. During that time their quality control is so much needed
