- Maurice Gendron plays J.S Bach's Cello Suite No.2 in D Minor, BWV 1008
I. Prelude 00:05
II. Allemande 03:37
III. Courante 07:15
IV. Sarabande 09:15
V. Menuet I-II 13:51
VI. Gigue 16:51
Gendron plays this gigue in 16:52 with so superb ellegance like I never listened in my entire life. And, when he repeats first bar, he plays "piano". He sings all the notes with absolute balance and elegance. It is stunning.
Expresión plena de pureza y belleza del grandioso maurice gendron, excelente!!!!!!!!
Je n'ai jamais écouté une musique aussi belle.
La meilleure version de la n°2 de tout les temps, écoutez cette merveille...The best version of the n ° 2 of all time, listen to this wonder ...Die beste Version der Nr. 2 aller Zeiten, hört euch dieses Wunder an ...La mejor versión del n ° 2 de todos los tiempos, escucha esta maravilla ...
It was painted by Claude Gellée also known as Le Lorrain and it's called "L'embarquement de la Reine de Saba".

I studied with Gendron for a year (1970-1971) at the Conservatoire in Paris, and I have found his bowings in the Bach Suites to be a useful point of departure for the working out of my own solutions in these compositions.
My cello teacher also studied with him. His bowings are useful.
@@omarandcarrie I fully agree with you. His bowings in Bach are at once faithful to detailed Baroque articulation, and to the capacities of today's instruments and bows.
You've expressed it exactly right!
Maurice Gendron fu il mio Maestro di Direzione d'Orchestra in Paris !
Le violoncelle - superbe !!!
Lovely piece.
a time capsule of humanity before the development of the USA, when there was still peace, civility, decency.
