I think it would be more scary if the peaceful mob transforming into an enemy was more rare. Like 1 in 20 farm animals you find in the wild are actually like some sort of imposter that transform at night and kill you.

This mod should be made so that instead of phantoms spawning, the mobs will slowly start to become these. With every night you don't sleep past night 3.

What’s been done with the sheep I think are pretty cool, but the other ones are just fine. The fox I feel is a bit too exaggerated, but I think what’s been done with the iron golem is pretty creative! They could have easily just taken the head off and called it a day, just so it would fit the theme. I hope the mod creator is still working on this, though, since it barely takes time to find something that’s just completely normal, as if there’s nothing going on. They managed to redesign the goat, one of the most area specific mobs to ever be found, yet they do nothing with skeletons, one of the most common mobs that literally spawn anywhere dark enough. Some designs, like the chicken or fox, are a bit lack luster. The chicken barely has a color change basically, since you have to actually look to notice the mouth changed, and the fox just looks goofy with a giant mouth.

Idk that tongue on the fox is a bit unsettling to me. I feel like the chicken and creeper could definitely be better though.
Would like to see this mod progress like lest say as the night progresses the more worst the mobs get at night from creepy jump-scare like to more aggressive AI.
And added a bonus special mob that when that bonus mob catch sight of a player they will auto reset the day and night cycle to early night just to make the night longer which allows mobs to grow into worst nightmare type mobs as the night progresses :3

I tried out this mod once, very fun to see all the mobs transitioning into these nightmare fuels. Then I put on the piglin mask, full netherite armor and switch to survival mode and starting axing down them all. Afterall the scariest creature is the player itself.

This mod would be perfect to combine with some other mods I've been seeing that add a sanity mechanic with the transformations happening gradually as you lose sanity, such awesome designs.

Honestly the mod just makes passive mobs annoying at night, and in some cases (ex: iron golem) it’s basically a resource pack

So I bought this mod recently and when I try to launch the game world to try this gameplay out, it just suddenly crashes or kicks me out of Minecraft for no reason right before it loads the world. Do you know why?

Imagine in vanilla Minecraft: you dont have a bed, it's night, and you're vulnerable to mobs. In a 'fortunate' turn of events, you find a sheep. The way it moves is a bit weird and it doesn't eat grass.. No matter. You crit it with your stone sword, but it doesn't die. You keep hitting but, nothing happens. You restart your game, but the 'sheep' is as tanky as ever. The 'sheep' stops playing around, and the sheep opens it's mouth widely, making stretching and flesh ripping sounds. You didn't download a mod, and you dont see anything in your mod packs list. The sheep screeches, and bites at you. Doing 4 hearts a bite. You run, and it stops. After a second of awkward waiting, it lunges at you, one shotting you. Shortly after, the world deletes itself.
That would scare me to death, i remember when I had a world with no help on t or chest, when I spawned there was a chest and torch and i immediately left ( i don't know if I accidentally put it on or just overreacted lol)

In my Opinion. The Ring Lady has Got to be the Scariest. Although it Doesn't just Come out of the Television like in the Original. She is still Creepy.

Once when I was 7 I like just got Minecraft so I had no experience. So I was playing Minecraft and it was night. A cow in front of my window and started doing a sleeping animation like they do in real life. And then a zombie killed it which is not supposed to happen
