Golf MK3 radiator, cooling fan / fan switch replacement, Murphyslaw

mk3 golf rhd rad, fan and fan switch replacement.
make sure everything is working ie coolant is topped up to max, no leaks the fan is kicking in at 90c. this is a good time to replace your coolant
the fan switch can be replaced with out taking the rad out

Thanks for the video, helped to do most of the job but my car is a 1.8 so the radiator is a little different, it didn't fit through the gap so had to remove bumper and the crash bar.

Is the shroud important or can I not put it back? Mine is broken and doesn’t really fit

Can't we just pull it from the back without removingbthe front parts? Please answer

Sorry this is the only way to fit the rad. Not a big deal to remove the front panel.

Hey, I’ve got a Golf 3 with a single radiator fan, the engine bay looks identical to yours. I have been struggling to find a replacement fan as mine is old and making noise now. Outdoor you link me where you got the replacement fan from or the specs of it?

Hi if the sticker is still on the fan it might still have the part number on it it's a long number. If I recall the new fan was febi bilstein and the parts numbers matched.
We got it from a local parts supplier but I had a quick look on line and there are lots of parts sites that should have the fan in Europe. Auto doc was one of them might be worth a look
