  • Paracord Fusion Ties - Volume 1: www.amazon.com/... Clifford W. Ashley, author and illustrator of The Ashley Book of Knots (ABOK), created many original knots along side the multitude of historical knots he presented. One of those original knots is shown on page 391 and referenced as ABOK #2445. A magnificent design, ABOK #2445 is effectively a simple modification of the Flower Knot. Still many refrain from tying it on account Ashley's illustration shows all, except how to hold and tie the knot in hand. Video by JD of Tying It All Together

Your videos are great! The music is great, the clear speech is wonderful and the speed in which you do the demonstration is perfect. Clear, concise, and easy to follow! Thank you!

This is my first time tying a knot and it was just out of curiosity. I got it on the first try :) Very clear if you are a visual learner.

Thanks very much for this. I tied one using an elastic string to make a band for my brush holder.. took me almost half an hour to get it right, but so much fun!

I like this knot and technique as I remember seeing the knot in the book. Ashley's has been my most prized possession for 45 years. I must have read it 50 times front to back. That didn't include the searches. The biggest PITA was his section on Turks' Heads, especially extending a Turks' Head to bigger dimensions. I never did get that. To my knowledge the only knot he missed was the Dirigible Knot which was invented during WWII. I did manage to improve his method of tying the 3L 4B Turks' Head about 20 years ago and can do so in about 7 seconds. I suppose I should make a video, but alas, no camera. I've seen several of your videos and they are all top shelf, keep up the good work. 1 thumb up.

Thank you, this really is a beautyful knot. At the time when the ends are going through the loops it gets e tiny bit confusing... it would help a lot, if one end would be red tipped and the other green (or what ever colour you see fit [marking just one end might already be enough] ) .
P.s.: I liked the music very much and agree with you, it was going very well with your work.

It's a piece o'cake! Only took me about 3 hours to figure it out. The hardest part is how you go from one loop to two. On a practice loop, press down on the top of the loop to makelike a heart. Then make the front of the right side meet the back of the left side.en

Took me 2 hours to figure out what you did from 2:30 to 2:45. But maybe this tutorial wasn't intended to learn the knot itself, but just how to tie it 'in hand'. Still, very much appreciated. Greetingz, S.

Also struggling with that section. I think he should have made which end was which more visible when passing the ends through.

Wow! I like the "Ashley's Flower knot" but is a little bit confusing just because is difficult to see which end of the rope you are using. My suggestion is to color the ends of the rope. What do you think?

this is oddly fitting to how i came across this video, because as i was playing ghost of tsushima i noticed a beautiful knot that hung on thr handle of every sword, and so, given its design, i wanted to learn how to make it, i cant believe it looks exactly like this one

JD (aka 1/2 of TKB) Just discovered a new obsession and was thrilled to find you had tutorials on it as well.
I wanted to ask you if had a source you would/could recommend for quality and affordable nylon braid rope.
I would like to use the same rope that you use for all your projects (provided I can afford it). If you don't
have a supplier you recommend, I would appreciate the manufacturer's name.
Thanks SO Much! I love all of your work. You are an extremely gifted & talented man & I appreciate more
than I can express, that you share so much of your designs with the world! Best to You & K in 2015, Mary-Ann

Guys the reason this is "hard" is because this knot was originally designed to be tied out on a board with some nails/pegs in it, giving it a fixed position to work from. JD tried his best to show everyone how to tie this with two hands, not 7 pegs in a board. He is only going fast so the knot won't completely undo in the middle of him tying it, so stop complaining.

I don't know much about Mr. Ashley and his background, and have not read the book.... However, this is traditional Chinese knotting originated from over 2000 years ago... and many other knots that you demonstrating are Chinese knotting, not the invention of the Westerns which you give credits for in your videos.

Your videos do not show how! You skip important steps, then show the end product. Hours spent following your steps only to have passes in the wrong place. You edit out your mistakes and keep the techniques used to make the mistakes. Very confusing to follow along only to have your steps incorrect.
