    What size are your cake layers? Is it better to have a 4 layers 7 inch or 3 layers 8 inch cake. Taller and thinner or shorter and fatter?

      I actually used a couple different chocolate buttercream recipes for the outside. the dark one is the Hershey's Perfect Chocolate Frosting. you can get it here: www.hersheys.com/kitchens/en_us/recipes/perfectly-chocolate-chocolate-frosting.html
      the light one is my Chocolate Buttercream you can find here: m.th-cam.com/video/sRVyU0T2Fao/w-d-xo.html the recipe will be in the description 😁 hope this helps!

    Is this just normal chocolate American buttercream or is it made with shortening?

    Hi I was wondering hat recipe did you use for the darker chocolate buttercream please?

    • @cakemom9705
      @cakemom9705  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely! I used a chocolate Buttercream inspired by the perfectly chocolate chocolate frosting by Hersheys.
      1/2 lb melted butter
      1 1/3 C Cocoa Powder
      (mix in stand mixer with whisk attachment)
      6 - 6 1/2 C sifted Powdered Sugar
      1/2 + 2 Tbsp milk (room temp)
      (alternately add until you get the correct texture )
      2 tsp vanilla extract
      1 pinch of salt
      add and whip a little extra
