fun fact:
the rev (the drummer) has an incurable heart condition (enlarged heart) and was told that he might live until 30. he actually wrote a song called "fiction" 3 days before he passed away, in the lyrics he wrote "promise me you'll never feel afraid" like a message for the rest of the band. and in this song "so far away", they said "sleep tight, i'm not afraid" in respond to the lyrics the rev wrote for them, their way of saying "its okay brother, rest in peace, we promise we're not going to feel afraid". 😭

As a young person I did not understand loss of a loved one, but as you get older you realise how hard it is. Even at 14 when my only surviving Grandfather died, it did not hit me. The first time it really hit me was when my own father died suddenly. It is tough and so hard to get your head around it, but in the end you realise you are part of that person and take forward their life. Now with grandchildren of my own, I realise this more than ever.
