Great video and another fabulous new Irish channel I have discovered today .
I live close to Carrickmacross and I really must do that route someday.
Cycle from Carrickmacross to Slane and then as you did, on to Navan and Kingscourt and back to Carrick.
That'd be a grand day out.

Where you turned back on drogheda canal section,if you had to have keep going over the humpback bridge until you come to a set if gates on left.in there follow the track to the end takes you to near enough top of the hill to donore .all grass section.

You should lifted your bike over the gate, it would have been the nicest strech of your whole trip. Known locally as the Navan ramparts. Its a very nice greenway of the old tow path of the boyne navigation. I think those gates originally had something to do with preventing motorcycle access which the powers that be need to have another look at. In my opinion the nicest greenway in Meath. There is talk of continuing the green way along the the old boyne navigation to Drogheda. The sooner they get that done the better. It would be a greenway to rival any in the country for beauty and history.

I didn’t know what barrier might exist at the other end, hence my caution but next time

@@anthonykelly5 it will get done but may take a while, inland waterways ireland are slowly repairing the locks of the boyne navigation and doing a fine job on them. I expect pre-planning consultation with an bord pleanala early 2025 and hopefully planning submission and approval from an bord pleanala 2025/2026. Political will and capital after that. Google "the boyne greenway and navigation restoration"

I’ve a couple of detailed videos about maximizing battery range but on that sort of cycling 120km+ is very possible in eco
