Ok everyone. LaGuardia is one of the specialized high schools of nyc (similar to stuy and bxsci but it is a performing arts school) So, you must live in one of the 5 boroughs of NYC to qualify. Also, you can audition for multiple majors (i.e drama, vocal, fine arts etc.). But you can only pick ONE major.

Are you in 10th grade? You can only apply to LaGuardia or any specialized high schools for that matter when you are in the 8th or 9th grade. You have a better chance of getting in when you apply in the 8th grade though.
However if you are 10 years old you have a lot of time to prepare. Start planning your audition. Like what song you are going to sing, what song you are going to play, or what pieces of art to draw/paint and eventually bring. But you have a lot of time if you are 10 years old! So don’t stress. But if you are in 10th grade right now you can not apply
I auditioned for vocal so i can really only speak for vocal. I got there and they had us gather in the auditorium. They called you out like “if you are auditioning for vocal follow this person”. Once you leave they take you to a room where you have to write something. I forgot the question but bring a black/blue pen with you. They do vocal warmups with you. Then they take a group of people to sit outside of the classroom and wait until you are called to audition. You have to sing a song and clap back melodies.
I live in westchester county but am interested in going to LaGuardia for acting. But Idk how I could get there everyday being an hour out from the city. What do I do?
Depends on the teacher. I had a really good and entertaining teacher freshman year and this year I have a boring unenthusiastic teacher. Btw the class can have freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior students in them.
Charlotte BERARD no. LaGuardia is a nyc public school so the taxpayers of nyc pay for the school. Because someone from outside nyc do not pay the same taxes it would be unfair.
It kind of depends. Some majors are harder than others. From what I remember there were about 100-200 kids auditioning for vocal and about 10 for visual arts. So it really just depends. But generally speaking, yes it is very difficult.

It could. With the new principal there could have been some rules changed but as Jin stated you need an average over an 80 or 85.

Depends on what you have for gym. I had weight training and it was fine, but the teachers were pretty hands off.

You can! the SHSAT schools are completely different from LaGuardia. You can take the SHSAT and audition for LaGuardia as well.
