hello friend of the pod dozens of cousins
ty so much i somehow havent heard a few of these so this was nice to have
^ 1:23:31 : There’s No Invincible Disguise That Lasts All Day
The two people who requested the two Glow Pt. 2 songs are legends
“it’s really creepy, but no one’s here, so-
it’s creepy to no one” always loved that line 🤣🤣🤣
32:14 time stamp lmao
watching this after hearing phil recount these times on microphones in 2020 :')
Its a miracle this was even recorded. Imagine going to see someone play the greatest album of all time live in its entirety
i can't even, this footage is a treasure
At a venue the size of most people's living rooms, no less. I've been going to Pete's for open mic nights for years and had no idea these walls were hallowed by Phil.
Why is it that people want to proclaim a very personal album to them or an album they love so much, as the "greatest album of all time" ? What is even the greatest ? You look stupid when you say that
@@sidharthwarrier9001 I think you’re over thinking their statement which just makes you dumb
@@sidharthwarrier9001 bruh chill lmaoo
I will forever be in debt to Phil and what his music has done for me
Same same same!
it really fucking amazes me that before mount eerie came out he performed the entirety of it at a show. like you can even see little changes he did to the song structures and lyrics in this performance before finalizing the album. im so jealous of the person who recorded this, they got like the coolest sneak peek of an album complete with this awesome audience participation stuff
This is insane that you have this. Early 2000s Phil is handsome lad.
@Jacob literally, yes
it’s so mesmerizing how casual this show is for how cosmic the song topics are like immediately after playing mt eerie all the way through he just did a q&a and took requests for several songs.
Phil is the best human being that has lived
The audience participation in IV. Mt. Eerie is absolutely wild. Would love to get to see this performed live someday.
this was a day before i was born 17 years ago. i love the microphones
6 days after i was born, september 2002 is where the good things happened
juno ! HOLY SHIT HI!
You we were both 5 days apart ahaha
The day you were born, I sang "Lanterns" with him on stage in Boston. Happy belated birthday.
I think my favorite part of being a mount eerie fan is finding these old recordings of live shows in random places on TH-cam
imagine going to a candy store and seeing this man playing live
hes so shy its adorable, love phil hes a good one
This needs to be backed up in an archive and immortalized forever. This version of IV.Mount Eerie is incredible.
FR. Genuinely considering screen recording that one section and listening to it over and over again. Simply beautiful.
@@orinbrim I did screen record it lmao
jesus christ i started tearing up during that
This version of I Felt Your Shape is very good! He adds a whole other section to it.
I can't remember where, but he uses the same lyrics in a Mount Eerie (the new alias, not the album) song.
I might be thinking of I Cut My Hands Off.
I just want to say thank you to whoever recorded this
You're welcome! I really wish I had uploaded it (a lot) sooner!
You again!? Stop showing up in my comment recommendations xd
@@Userrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.r NO
my name is also nick e. cool that i found a namesake online who is also a microphones enjoyer
@@rag4877 nice lol
and hear their scary trumpets! AHHHHHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
quite scary
So different from the album versions, but holy fuck these songs are almost inhumanely human. Still cant wrap my head around how Phil came up with all (or at least 90%) of the album, its magnificent
Damn I could listen to this on repeat for days...
This is one of my favorite videos on the internet
his voice is so sweet. phil legit cured my depression.
Phil is 24 here
It's crazy to think that one of the best musical performances of all time has taken a decade and a half to appear on the internet, thank you
oh man. phil is such an enticing individual.
Everyone's rightfully talking about Mt Eerie but can we talk about the end of Solar System? That shit was transcendental
this must've been special to be there
apparently the song that the person requests at 37:00 is "I'm Getting Cold"
It exists
This version of IV. Mount Eerie is so good
One of my favorite live shows ever
same
Can’t believe this exists!!
Watched the entire video uninterrupted. I don't think I've ever done that with a live performance. Thank you for uploading this!
This fits the album's vibe so well.
Glad this popped up in my recommended or I never would've heard it.
no sé alguien de acá hablé español pero la verdad Phil con sus proyectos y canciones me está ayudando en un momento difícil de mi vida y espero seguir escuchando su música hasta que muera
escuchá dont smoke y get off the internet
phil realmente logra conectar de una manera muy intensa con los sentimientos de la gente
Oh my god its back up! Thank you for re-uploading the video!
Been listening to Little Wings a lot the last couple years. Was a nice surprise to see the cover
Pile, fuck yeah
ive only ever heard this cover, wish i could find the original song :(
@@1erdanger check bandcamp , off wonderue
Thank you so much for uploading this. I went through a weird phase in the winter of my senior year in high school (late 2014) where I listened to "Solar System" for hours upon hours every day. I even have the song on one of my videos on my channel. This brings back so much memories and feelings.
okay, i had that same thing last year where i was at a really bad spot, i think i listened to it around 400 times in a month or so, it was basically the only thing i could listen to, and i'm glad someone gets it
@@polaka311 so glad i'm not the only one lol! I completely get it. It's so soothing and comfortable, especially if you feel alone like there's nobody else out there who cares about you
so did i oh my god !
this is still my favorite video on TH-cam
This version of I cant believe you actually died is so beautiful
Chills.
This version of 'IV. Mount Eerie' is better than the studio version.
Glad this is back up. I watched this video like every day for a little bit of my life
I never meant to take down the Microphones video; I had been hiding other old vids that don't seem very relevant and must have checked this by mistake. I'll never intentionally take it down
I love the little roar during the king dark death verse.
i have only one
Its a fucking tragedy Phil never got to do this set with a bigger budget and more of a band, it would have been one of the greatest live music events ever
i think this is perfect
i was told he did a show in olympia around the time the album came out where he had a full choir of folks singing the backing vocals. not sure what the band lineup and instrumentation was like for that show, but it sounded epic af
Thank you for this
Mathew Levitt My pleasure! Sorry I didn't upload it anywhere for 15 years! (Or I guess 10 years since TH-cam didn't exist before that.)
Goodbye The Band I love you
Unreal... A real gift to us all.
Get the hell out of the way of the volcano in this show was fucking awesome. I wish he did a full band rendition of it.
Wow! THANKS please keep this up
go Phil!
If i had a time machine...
this version of solar system is the fucking best
This version of the sun is chilling
God this is so great! I love his voice. It could put me to sleep.
reminds me of charlie cox (daredevil) a little bit, especially when he looks at camera on The Norway Question. what a heartfelt dude
Holy this is insane thank you so much for uploading this masterpiece
I have infact been ENTERTAINED
hi
Chills everywhere yoooooo
U saved my life by keeping this ♡
phil is one individual
I love this so much! Thank you for uploading it, this album is very special to me.
Wt a beautiful rendition of mount eerie...
this version of solar system is fucking beautiful
THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS OH MY GOD
I was feeling sad today and now I feel so much better
Happy belated 20th anniversary
Nice!
"So... Pterodactyls have eaten me"
I've always wanted an extended version IV. Mount Eerie's chanting section. Thank you
guitars in the first piece remind me a lot of the newfound interest in Connecticut
Like And It Sings For Itself?
i think i like the live version of mt eerie more than the album version tbh, thag was euphoric
Was 6 days old when this video was taken
I was like in my early 20s, lol
Was 2 years old
I was -2 years old
Happy late birthday!!
I was just about a month old
when he wails into the mic
would you be willing to upload this to a mediafire? its too big for youtube to mp3 conversion sites.
I can’t figure out the chords for “I can’t believe you actually died”
all i have is
C C7 and i can’t make out what he plays after those two.
i always thought it was just F and G
@@dongu.s Yeah that’s right
C C7 he plays something after those two and then goes into F and G just can’y make it out
anyone know what kind of guitar is phil playing?
Looks similar to a harmony bobkat
damn 573 likes and zero dislikes
A favorite color a gray area. A Grey eye contacts , I like your eye
TARP!!!
who the fuck disliked this
A guy named Rhett.
Wow, these guys suck... I love it!
The first 20 minutes is hard to listen to he sang like 3 songs using the same chords
I’m sorry you don’t have a soul, that makes it pretty tough to enjoy the microphones
