- NEW HIGHER RESOLUTION OF THIS VIDEO - • 2005 Enchanted Tiki Room - In the Tiki Tiki Tiki Room; where the birds sing words and the flowers croon. Here is the original show, the first AA show, that is still shown at Disneyland Anaheim. This is 'orignal' as compared to Under New Management at WDW. (Yes, this version is missing Offenbach segment)
This brought a tear to my eye...Was one of my favorite things at Disneyland, and it reminded me of some good childhood memories.
High person from 14 years ago! :)
Same here it's one of my favorites
I first saw this back in the 60s, it was enchanting!!
Your dad did a wonderful job
Thank you very much for posting this! It brought back so many memories! It was things like this that made Disneyland such a magical place when I was a child, and not just another amusement park. I still remember the first time I saw the Tiki Room show. I really thought it was raining outside!
I was fourteen years old when I saw this show at Disneyland in Ca. I loved it then and 53 years later I still love it. Clean entertaining fun. Thank you Walt Disney. Evie from Boston
The best
I was afraid of the singing totem poles when I was younger. Never actually entered until I was around 10. Now I love it.
same but i was 7 or 6 now im 8 .-.
I love their sound
I was sitting close to one and stuck my finger in its mouth. Got bit...lol
This show was MY CHILDHOOD!
Classic for a reason
Thank you so much for sharing this! The Tiki Room is such a magical and beautiful part of Disneyland that I hope lives on for years and years to come. :)
Indeed
“version” that i saw when i was only about 4 or 5. love it!
Always time for the Tiki Room
Thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing back such fond and lovely memories. My husband and I held hands while we watched it. We were there in the beginning of Disneyland and we savored this moment. Wonderful!
You are very welcome!
That's my dad, DALLAS McKENNON, doing the voices of the parrots! May you rest in peace!
Weren't Wally Boag and Thurl Ravenscroft also voices of the parrots? Dallas did a lot of voice work for Disney on records as well, and wasn't he on Daniel Boone?
I don't know why but hearing Thurl Ravenscroft do a German accent makes my day for some reason
Your his daughter
Wow
Nice voice . Must be happy to be the daughter of a famous Dad who does the voices of the parrots
Thanks for sharing
I love this. My grandparents took my brother and I to Disneyland back in the late 60s. The Tiki Room was my favorite attraction. I was delighted and utterly spellbound when the beautiful white birdmobile came down from the ceiling!
It catches the heart and never lets go
It's always a joy to see the tiki room again, even if it's an oldie! My father, Dallas McKennon, had the honor of doing so many voices for this still amazing show. Thanks so much for posting this, ru42! I'm still just a kid, and can watch this over and over again! Gayle
So glad this original show is still running at Disneyland in California. It's so incredibly timeless. I can still remeber seeing it as a kid and being blown away. I wanted those talking birds in my bedroom. And to think, this is the very first Disney Audio Animatronic show. So much has changed and advanced since then, but there's something so special about this show which can't be replaced. I hope it never closes. ARE YOU LISTENING DISNEYLAND? Read more about the show here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walt_Disney%27s_Enchanted_Tiki_Room
After all, Walt Disney, himself, had the original idea!
+William Rickman This attraction is a definite go-to, when I travel to Disneyland!

New isn't always the best. Old and original is just fine too!
Walt Disney is a genius.
Oh my goodness do I miss the original this! They changed this completely in Walt Disney World, so sad! And now it is closed cause it caught fire a few weeks ago. My opinion they need to bring it back to the original. I don't deal with change very well and this was one of my favorites as a child, this and it's a small world. Thank you for having this so I could enjoy it, makes me a happy and sad at the same time.
Thank you! It has been almost 40 years since I visited Disneyland but the Tiki House still remains in my memories. I think I wore out my vinyl album recording of it back in the 70s!
Just wonderful! I have always loved the chanting totum poles. Great job, thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for this video it means so much to me I saw this at Disney when I was little and I always loved it I would love to go there again so bad! It has been over 10 years since we've been able to go any where! Since our mortgage went up we can't do much of anything! I am in tears just watching this ! Thanks for letting me relive wonderful memories again!!
You are welcome
Just shared your video with a fellow who had visited DL once, in 1968, and this wasn't open. He didn't know he could visit any time on youtube. WWW equals magic. Thanks.

Thank you so much for putting these up. Your videos are a joy to watch. I haven't been back to Disney since 1988 and these videos bring back wonderful memories!
You've captured more in this video than you can see sitting in the actual Tiki Room. Amazing job. I've bought some of your dvd's and I'm sure I'll love them.
These were the things I wanted to take home with me when I went to the parks. One time I went home, never having sculpted anything in my life. I got some Sculpey, and made a tiny copy of pele. Since then I've done much larger tiki pieces for my yard, but this is where it all starts for me. Awesome video. Thank you.
Wow, wonderful job filming this! This brings back memories of my childhood, I miss this so much. Thank you for the memories!
Thank you for posting this. My parents (both who took me to Disney as a kid...have dementia), loved this. ----Jeff
Very well filmed, since I live a bazillion miles away from all the Disney theme parks it's really great to see these. ^^ Thanks!
You did an AMAZING job of cutting this all together!!! I have wanted to see that show again for SO LONG!!! I felt like I was 7 again, seing it for the first time. I LOVED IT SO MUCH!! THANK YOU!!!!
Excellent camera work! Thank you so much for putting this up. It really brings back memories
No, it is not illegal to video tape most rides at Disney; definitely not illegal to video tape Audio Animatronics. Offenbach was removed for time constraints (shorten the show); not a PC issue - just a time issue.
What about filming the shows? Is that legal? Or when you’re meeting characters are you allowed to film? I’m a huge fan of Disney and I love this so much.
This is one of my favorite things at Disneyland....Thanks for uploading it.
baby sister would always be scared shitless during this show. now she is a pre teen. good memories, thanks for uploading.
Welcome
Happiest place on earth. I wish I could go back. My daughter loves the tiki room. Thank you for the upload.
Very well done! I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for taking all the time to put it together and for posting it online!
"The Gods have been angered by all the celebrating." "Yay!" I love that little kid
Classic
Went to Disney and saw this with my grandparents in 1980. From then until the year she died in 2013 she always raved and laughed when we talked about the "tiki birds". RIP Mimi, these guys will always be a reminder to me of your wonderful laugh.
I have similar memories
this was one of the first things i ever saw at disneyland and it's still one of my favorites. they like to rebrand things and revamp things but i think this should be kept original
Hopefully it never goes away
I couldn't agree with you more! Disneyland will never beat Disneyworld!
It will always be the original and my favorite! ^_^
I can't wait to go back to Disneyland in just one week!
1 Camera and I think I shot this from 4 different locations, once from each side and then went back and shot a 5th of anything I didn't like in the other 4 that I discovered during editing.
Thank you for the compliments.
RU
Thank so very much for uploading this. THIS is the Tiki Room I grew up with :)
Always a pleasure my friend. Very nice work. One of my favorites.
This was so well done - I felt like I was there, enjoying the Tiki Room! TY!
i love disneyland rides. you bring back SO many memories. i look at these videos all day THANK YOU!!!!!
Wonderful! And just how I remember it as a kid! It has been a long time since I have been to Disneyland. This brought tears to my eyes! Thanks for the happy memory from the childhood of a freckle-faced California kid!
I loved this as a kid!! Looked it up to see if I had the words right in my head after all these years!! I remember being on my dads shoulders and I reached up and touched a bird and my dad told me they didn’t like that and it would kill the bird and I spend the rest of my week thinking I killed one of the birds but great video I love the nostalgic video quality!! Thank you for this!
We just got back from Disney World of course we went to the Tiki Room there was wan't even a line to get in. When I went back in the late 70s I had to wait almost an hour to get in. The new version is terrible. I told my wife you have to go to youtube if you want to see the original. Thank you so much for posting this.
Awesome video! I loved the original Tiki Room. I wish that Disney world in Florida had not updated it. They really messed it up when they did. Thanks again for this great video post and the memories!
as a kid this was really amazing back in the 90s. the video quality doesnt do it justice but is nice to see again
I just uploaded a higher resolution of this video
ahhhh yes I remember this. I was about....6 I think? when my family last went to Disneyland. We could never afford Disneyworld nor could we afford it now (or Disneyland for that matter) Haven't been there since 2003. So that would be 7 years. Sheesh. Too long lol.
Memories. They were wonderful ^.^ My dad recorded The Tiki Room on his camera and I should watch it again some time again.
Thanks for uploading this wonderful video :)
This video is bringing real tears of joy to me!!!! I saw this in the early mid 50's, too young to "know" that my father was the voice of all the parrots. I think now that I owe so much of my art career to this beautiful early baptism.
I love this show so much! I got the Disneyland CD so I know all the words to the opening song like a proud nerd should. :P I went for my 16th birthday, and now am going back in a couple of weeks for my 18th. :D
Great Video! Thanks for making it. I've been going to WDW since the 70's and when they changed the Tiki Room I was very dissapointed. This is not the best way to experience the Tiki room but I would rather watch this video then visit the Tiki room at WDW.
Again, thanks for the video! It's fun to relive the good times at the tiki tiki tiki room :-)
This is the best video I have ever seen of this. Thank you for sharing.
wow, this is so great. the editing is soo amazing. i love this attraction ^^

Indeed
For instance...
The boys in the back are called macaws.
Because of their claws?
No, because they're macaws.
this is probably one of my finest childhood memories. Just, the best. I LOVE the tiki room!!!!!!
Thanks! A great classic show... even though now they omit the Offenbach part.
Recorded / edited so very well ! ! ! !
Thanks.
You've brought back part of my childhood. Thank you.
You are welcome
No one's ever too old to see it. This is weird, because no one knows what to expect when they see it with their friends or their families. I saw it as a child in the past on behalf of Disney California Adventure being under construction back then, and I loved it very much even though I don't remember sitting underneath Jose with my parents and many unknown theme park guests that day. As a teenager and adult in the past and present, of course, it's still the same. I want my kids and my husband to see it with me someday, so they know how funny it is to learn about Hawaii and nature. Did you know that Audio-Animatronics was an idea that popped in Walt Disney's head at the time that the New York World's Fair took place in the '60s? All of the songs written by The Sherman Brothers are addictive EXCEPT the Hawaiian War Chant. My dad has a tan tiki mug in the garage which is only located at our house that was built in the '40s. There's also a grey tiki in the fish tank. The snails come up to it and clean the algae off of it. It's the like they're giving it a haircut️. I mentioned about it to Maynard (the cast member who worked at this attraction) 11 years ago in the summer if my memory serves me correctly.
You speaketh the truth, fellow Disney fan!
I sureth do. LOL! That's so sweet.
Sadly it's different now though :/

I wasn't too surprised when they changed the WDW Tiki Birds. It seemed that since the early '80's, attendance had dropped dramatically and every time I saw the show someone got up and walked out!
all of your videos are soo awesome
thank you for making Disneyland more wonderful
So awesome!! Thanks so much for posting this!!
Thank you so much for posting this!
Thank you for sharing this!!! What great memories! :)
Super well filmed , spliced and edited.
Thank you
I miss watching the Tiki Room so much!!!!
Indeed
Thanks!! This brings back so many good childhood memories.
I heard that the Tiki Room was gone from the Anaheim Disneyland. It was the best respite and magic for me as a child.
It’s still at Disneyland. Who ever told you that it’s gone, is so dead wrong!!!
Nope, it has never left and most likely, because of its historical significance, it never will
14:27 starts my fave part of the attraction.. mainly because it made some lady next to me stand up and attempt to leave the theater because it was "too satanic." That and the harmonies just sound so perfect 👌🏼❤️
Isn't it funny how some people consider something culturally foreign to them satanic?
Some people
@@ianmichalski7997 I personally think Polynesian/Hawaiian themed things are really cool.. At the Spirit of Aloha dinner show they have a Maori man do something similar to a haka (a traditional dance where there is a lot of chanting) and I thought it was really neat, but a lot of the people around me seemed to be weirded out.. Hm.
I love that part of the show 😍
I THINK THIS IS GREAT this is kind of fun and brings back many happy memorys.
I love those female cockatoos on the Bird Mobile during the song "Let's All Sing Like The Birdies Sing".
Giving the boot to Iago and Zazu would be amazing!!! I surely hope the original show returns and STAYS that way!! : )
This is an excellent video of the Tiki Room.
I can't wait to go in November...
I was so happy to see this ride back when i visited in 2006. I saw the under new mangment show and it was awaful. I am so happy the orignal version is back!!!!!!
OH THANK YOU ... this brought back FANTASTIC memories!
I love all the songs, especially "Lets all sing what the birdies sing."
Saw this when I was 6 or 7....then again like 3 years ago when I took some family to a Microsoft sponsored meeting in Disney Resorts.... :) Great show.
This is really awesome!! i love the tiki room!
Thanks for uploading this. I miss the original show at WDW. As far as the main show itself, it starts out the same as the original until Iago interrupts it and it's different from that point on. You just wanna knock Iago off his perch. . . lol. Anyway, thanks for posting this. At least people can watch it as it used to be. Even if it is only a video.
It was closed or some time but the show is running again. I went on my birthday a few months ago and one of the places we definitely had to stop at was the Tiki Room!
I always have to go on it
I really miss this! Thanks for the video.
Even though I am nearly 20 years old now, I still love this show like I did when I first saw it back when I was 7. Sometimes, I even sing along with the birds - hey, if my great-grandfather can do it, then I can do it too. This is still the best place in the park to hide away from the heat in the summer.
I love this show, its one of me and my moms faves. We love this one!
thanks for uploading. this attraction is often overlooked. it's cool that they have kept it in the park. it is a good rest area w/show to get out of the heat and long lines. I do so miss the country bear jamboree though. they still have the three heads above the doorway in the winney the poo adventure !!
One of the wonderful things about Disneyland are the memories. My mother and I used to love this show when I was young. (She has since passed.) But it was something we both loved and shared. Nice.
Tiki room is my favorites attration at Disneyland
Last time I went to the Tiki Room the worker who brought us in he was SERIOUSLY HILARIOUS.
britainluver431 Ur magic feet no move
No flashy flashy of photography
+My Mom's Account My head sore.....
Tiki Maynard :D
Maynard most likely
I love it when Jose says everybody whistle, and you hear the whistle track start and everyone laughs!
@CuteCatFaith I have the hall of chemistry Monsanto booklet from opening week at disneyland, 1955. it was my father and aunts. hopefully you can now go to disneyland, france!! hahahahaha, I also worked there in anaheim.
I'm confused by everyone saying they want the old version back. We just got back from Disneyland a few days ago, and this was the version of the show we saw. Maybe they brought the original back? Not sure, as I haven't been to Disneyland in 15 years, but it was great to find this video. You did an awesome job with this! We always used to go to Disneyland as kids and always went to this attraction--it was my dad's favorite! Thanks for the great memories!
I was thinking the same thing--at Disney World, I taped the show as a kid(before the hideous re-do) and I pretty much had it memorized. When the Disneyland version was upgraded, I do believe the birds' voices got switched around.
Thanks for posting this! I doubt I'll ever get to California to see it in person (I'm from NY) and it's pretty cool! :)
Saw this last year on my 42nd birthday. It was my first time being at Disneyland in 32 years, and I felt like a kid again. What an awesome, magical place. :)
this was the first ride i ever went on i was so incredibly happy!
Beautifully edited for maximum impact by a pro. Remember the Florida Sunshine Tree at WDW and Anita Bryant singing. Ill take the OJ over the Pineapple Juice. Great vid!!!Thanks
i loved the tiki room
love all ur disneyland vidz r2
I loved it when we went to Disneyland, I got to see the Tiki room and a whole bunch of the cool rides. :)
Wow! Yah, its so surreal to hear old people tell stories like this. Its really neat that your mom understood that! My mom would have been like "What's a computer?? o_O"
We always used to come here! I loved it!
The song, "Let's All Sing Like the Birdies Sing" was heard on the Disney Sing Along Songs VHS, "Fun With Music," but it was also heard on the UK version of "Colors of the Wind."
Every time I go to Disneyland, I always watch this!! :D
good job at the video! and ty for posting i love it!
thanks for this. I went 1 time in the rain, and it was the first and only time on this. Wondered why I had not before, it was nice, (we actually went on all indoor rides, still have a disneyland poncho somewhere)
Thank you! Someone who remembers it all. :)
