I have the 4+ and it works fantastic. I rode in 2 days of solid rain, and had zero issues. The voice commands work great. My only issue is when wearing a leather jacket, and head checking to the left, the knob gets turned on my jacket and the volume increases. Not a huge deal, but a little annoying. Would surely purchase again!

i have a bit of a conundrum. i don't like ram mounts because i went into a store one day and my ram mount was gone. i suspected it got stolen so now i only use my smart watch for navigation. since a smart watch connects to your phone via bluetooth, i'm guessing i won't be able to have the Cardo connected to my phone's bluetooth at the same time as my watch? so i either have to buy another ram mount and take it off every time i go into the store, which is sometimes 3+ a day..... or i have only have audio directions via Cardo.
I have been using the 1+ for about 6 months. Works great. To answer the phone you just scream "hey" it works most of the time. I can still hear my music while having my ear protection. The radio isn't really good. I use my spotify.
How are you able to move around and listen to your Spotify playlist on the 1+? There is no natural voice technology so you can't give it voice commands to play your music right? Do you have to do use your phone or use the device itself then? And isn't that cumbersome? I would like to use the 1+ with the JBL speaker upgrade if it had "natural voice" to be able to just say what I needed to do but if I have to start clicking through playlist while I'm riding that would probably be a deal-breaker for me. FYI the JBL speakers are slightly larger than the typical ones you get with other Cardo and Sena units. I had to "downgrade" to regular freecom speakers when I bought the freecom 4+. I do have another helmet that fits them fortunately.
Thank you Cardo for making a more affordable "Pack Talk"... I wanted the JBL speakers but didn't want to spent that much cash. Now the Freedom 4 is the solution. . . Nice Job.
@@SigSayer I hear ya. I had the old Sena 20s and sold it for the cardo freecom 4 plus. The Sena 20s when wet didn't work well and the freecom were slightly more money. I am happy with the jbl 40mm speakers and the external controls. Very lightweight and I dont even use the comm features lol

Other than that, it's pretty nice for music. The bass could be a bit better, but something also tells me if I had a firmer fitting helmet and not a cheap LS2 I would feel the bass a lot more. They adjust their volume to go up as you increase speed by the way, and AFAIK I can't change that. This means I can "max" the volume at a light but it can go higher when moving (I can't seem to override that to go full sound at a stop).
Farid Cooper I had an LS2 Stream Evo and ride an ‘03 R6 with a Yoshi exhaust. I just upgraded to the Shoei RF-1200 and I think due to the reduced wind noise, and better ear speaker placements, it sounds even clearer than before. Funny enough, my girlfriend says when speaking to her even at a stop, it no longer sounds like “something is covering the mic” so helmets do make a difference even at stops it seems!
Good review. I'm happy with my Freecom 2+ but the music sharing feature is pretty bad. They've even replaced my units, same problem music lags when sharing, works fine when not sharing. Cardo customer service is pretty poor.
what do you mean "the music lags"? as in, there is a slight time difference in the music between headset 1 and headset 2? if this is the case, does that really matter? i mean.....unless you and your passenger intend on playing musical instruments along with it together, or if tapping your feet together is something youre into. just tryin to figure out what you mean by lag. Because if that is what you mean, i dont really see the issue.
I've got the Freecom 4+, and the JBL 45mm speakers. The 40mm speakers work great, and the 45mm are even better. The only downside and disappointment I got is that the the Freecom 4+ DOES NOT support the sound profiles that comes with the 45mm package. The 45mm package comes with a code (as mentioned the video), but if you own a Freecom 4+ you don't have the option (and you don't need it as far as I know) to input this code in the Cardo application (Android). I ride with a Bell MX9 helmet (no visor edition). And although its a really loud helmet, the sound is still pretty good. You can get a whole lot more from the 45mm speakers if connected to a headphone amplifier with proper DAC. I suspect using the bass profile (only available for PACTALK models) could really bring the speakers to a whole new level for me, unfortunately I can't really know unless I upgrade. Overall, good system in my opinion.
Yes ive tried. But the quality is very poor when u are cruising. We all got 4g or 5g but it doenst work well with discord. Maybe because it is an external app.

quality is ok Today i had the time to mount it in my helmet, replacing the 35€ Chinese com, but as i tryed it out, well, no difference I honestly thought that the Cardo name is one of the top products but i see that for this price it is not My Chinese Mornystar M3 for 35€ is better Even controles are more friendly to moto gloves M3 has pause button, 2+ does not M3 has easy Radio connection with one button only M3 has shuffle option, 2+ just skips music.... Sadly, i can not recommend this over cheap Chinese coms
I have a Bell Eliminator helmet and I want a Freecom but I would like to know if it can be installed with the clip or have to be installed with adhesive ? The bottom of the helmet is thicker than average...

In universal pairing mode yes, but keep in mind that the Freecom 1+'s intercom distance is very short meant for rider-to-passenger and not bike-to-bike. That would be the only limiting factor in connecting.
The HJC Smart 20B is just a Sena unit in disguise, so you would be able to connect with a Cardo Freecom+ unit but only on one channel through their Universal Pairing mode. FWIW, Universal Pairing is never as easy as the brands make it sound which is why we usually just recommend using the same brand of comm unit that your riding buddy has.
I have the freecom 1 for music and answering calls. it is the non jbl version and the music quality is lacking I'm definitely looking into to the jbl upgrade.but it is an awesome unit otherwise!
Audio quality on my old freecom 1 is amazing, do note you HAVE to be wearing earplugs with any com headset or you're going to have a bad time due to road/wind noise being loud af

If you want sound quality, jbl with freecom 4 or packtalk. If you want loudest volume go Uclear. Especially if you got a loud bike or helmet. Good systems but they just aren't as mainstream as cardo/Sena.
Hello. Does anyone know if you have to push button talk on the freeecom 2+ to talk to a rider buddy. I don't want to have to push a buttom to talk whilst riding. I want to be totally hands free. Just rider to rider comms. Thank-you
Communication mode is just an open dialog between the connected riders. Its not a push-to-talk system for most modern motorcycle Bluetooth communicators, including the Freecom 2+. I mean, you can fit most coms on most helmets but half helmets are tricky. Do you have a picket to drop speakers into? Sena has the cavalry and that's about the only helmet that has a "good" set up for Bluetooth.

You can if you want to. Most don't because booms take up much more space inside a full face helmet.

The jog dial is constantly being rubbed by my shoulder when i look over my shoulder
You can solve this by moving the device further up the helmet
