Clearing Our Alaska Homestead // Logging and Roadbuilding

- On Saturday afternoon we get to Alaska and on Monday morning we start clearing for our roads and our future home site!
In this video we build over 1/4 mile of Road, clear two homesites and prep for our next project which is digging our basement!

My husband was shipped to Viet Nam and our little 8 year old girl started helping her grandma mowing her yard. She took up the slack her Dad did. Now grown and a great grandmother herself she still works like she did as a child. Mows her Hugh yard, takes care of a garden and cans all she grows. Plus she helps her daughter in her business by telephone. Plus she takes us to the doctors and helps us in so many ways. She had five children, worked and went to college at the same time. She is amazing. We love her so much.
You guys are a very industrious family! I am looking forward to following along as you continue the build.

Your family at work reminds me of the family I was raised in. Farm life calls for all hands on deck as soon as they're old enough to walk they're out with everyone else. I agree with the sentiment of you RAISING BOYS TO BE MEN AND DO A DECENT DAYS WORK.

Absolutely fabulous to see the work that has been done. The boys did a magnificent job cutting and stacking the wood piles. Please make sure the boys wear their safety equipment while cutting the wood. Don’t want anything to happen to their precious ears or their eyes. God bless your “Haven Families”!✝️🙏❤️

Last summer while visiting our kids in Chugiak, a cow moose and her twin calves casually wondered in the yard and proceeded to eat my daughter in law’s flowers. 😆 They we’re so fun to watch, it was 11:00 pm and still daylight. 😁

This is just so beautiful! We have done those same things with our property near Mt Rainier but not to that magnitude and it has been 48 years since we have done that heavy logging. Now it's for you younger ones to take over these big tasks.
You have a beautiful site there and I am so loving all you are doing. I absolutely love to watch construction and wish I was back in time and knew what I know now. LOL It would have been handy to have the knowledge so we didn't work so hard but it was the way it was and I wouldn't change it. We always keep a dozer, a backhoe and a road grader but sadly it doesn't get used too much in these past several years. Always something to maintain! Keeps a person active and feeling alive however.......LOL
I love watching the boys work with the wood, they are such a wonderful help. I just think they are awesome young men. All the children are pitching in to assist........so wonderful and the memories will be endless and make for wonderful chats through the coming years. Blessings and safety to all of you. You are taking on quite an awesome task..... I know you will be loving every minute of the work, so wonderful to have pride in our work and feel fulfilled!
