Your house and property are absolutely stunning!!!!! You have done a fantastic job building your house❤❤❤ May God Bless you and your family and keep you safe 🙏 🙏🙏
Your land is SO beautiful! Getting things done is a huge accomplishment & necessity at times! There are always multiple ways to do something, so your way is the right way!!!
That’s why we do it. We got tired of watching the flawless videos. We’d try to do a project we seen online and struggle and be like, why is it so easy for everyone else? Then I realized, it’s just because they won’t show the screw ups. We don’t know what we’re doing and I can’t afford to pay a professional. I might be a bit ditzy sometimes but I’m not a dumb person so I figure if they learned how to do it, so can we. Maybe someone can learn from our mistakes or at the very least, have a laugh with us.
Why would you call them out for them not showing what they may have screwed up maybe they don't feel like showing that aspect, the fact that anyone who gives it a go in Alaska is a " real person" and many who move to Alaska find out the hard way that of how difficult it can be living there as it's not for everyone who wants to try the off grid thing. The Alaska wilderness wins always. Maybe you should get a harness for your recording device then you can help out
Every great journey starts with the first step and us humans don’t normally truly appreciate anything that’s given to us. You’ve mapped your future and if I might say, looks bright. Wishing you all lots of love, happiness, health and fantastic memories. Never too old to pursue your dreams (not that I’m saying you’re old 🤣). A couple from Idaho are cheering you guys on!
What a adventure! Born & Raised in Alaska! Out House! Come winter, Styrofoam! Always warm when you use it in place of a toilet seat! Just a little helper to make things better!
Great job folks. FYI. Self sticking roof underlayment is fab. Because it waterproofs the roof until you can put finish on. And won’t tear like felt. No matter how long it take or the weather.
I've been following you since you first started with your build. I look forward for your videos every week. Your doggies are adorable. Good luck on your new adventure.
He wanted to be able to finish high school with his friends instead of switching schools for his senior year. We knew before we moved back up that was his plan.
If you have trouble with your vent leaking in the future. Replace that section of roof and use a Deck Tight rubber flashing. That was a shingle flashing. The deck tight are silicone with a small metal ring at the base that can be formed over the ribs of your flashing. You set it in caulking “Through The Roof” then put a final coat around the edge. It’s a clean fit and you won’t have as big of a hole in your roof.
You are living my dream, so I will just watch the three of you in Alaska. Great progress and a great place. God bless you, and I am so glad I found this video. 🙂✌🏼😎🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦃🦃🦃
Loved your build. Imagine my surprise when I saw your John Crane weather thermometer! I met my late husband there in '75. He continued to work there for over 30 years. Sure made me smile seeing this! Keep up the good work 👍🏻
That’s amazing! My husband salvaged it from an abandoned warehouse in Ohio many years ago. I loved the look of it so it’s moved around the country with us.
What a adventure you guys have had this year. Starting with a blank slate to making it your home. Can't wait for more adventures. You will make mistakes but step back laugh and learn and push forward, you will perceiver you are a buckeye.
Great videos. I enjoy seeing people succeed in establishing your homestead. Beautiful land I can see why you moved and changed your life. Peace Love Happiness 💖💖💖
Thank you for joining us. We’ve got lots of projects coming up this summer on top of finishing the house. Ducks, gardening, solar install, first time fishing, building a garage……
Hi guys! Fun to look back at that first video when you showed up to all that snow. Rough start but glad you persevered! Been watching from the beginning and have really enjoyed your sense of humour through it all! You have to be able to laugh when it’s all going wrong because it surely will. Looking forward to you getting back to Alaska and continuing your build! Take care! T!
Thank you so much, we appreciate that. It’s easy to forget how hectic and fast paced things are down here. It’s nice being able to help family and visit for the holidays but we’re ready to get back home. Thanks for watching 💜
We are too! Thanks for watching and good luck on your homestead. I checked out your page. You should get a band going up here. Almost all the music is hippie folk or country. We need some variety, something heavier.
The son could have changed school to be there for the build.. but as kids are now it's them 1st not the family. Make his room smaller and put the outhouse outside his window 😁 as a couple you guys rocked it, enjoy your beautiful life and I wish you all the best... 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Thank you! That’s such a nice compliment. Warning though, we are learning as we go and those first few videos are rough 😂 We have a bunch of upcoming projects though so hang in there.
WTG!! Glad to see someone with vision and gumption. In 93 my hubby and I built a log in Michigan together. (My idea) Our 2 girls were not happy with a outhouse and showers when it rained or a trip to the river at night so they hung out with friends at a campground. Took us 6 months and lots of friends but finished a month earlier then the bank expected. Lived there 16 years till he got sick, sold it, and bought a place on a river for cash. So because of that home we've had no mortgage for over 18 years.
Good evening 'Our Alaska'. I just came across your channel this evening and watched this entire video. I really enjoyed the content of building, plus the scenery is beautiful. To my dismay, not yet. There was quite a delay in getting their beams for the upstairs garage floor, ended driving to WV to get them. Should have those installed today and work on framing the upstairs walls tomorrow. It’s coming along.
