I've had customers using those for a few years now. They have improved the design a couple times on where it connects to the shaft. They work really well!

She’s 100% RIGHT! The Darwin’s Grip is a game changer! I have 3 acres with trees. It takes about one hour or more hunched over and back pain is the result. Now… zero back pain and it makes trimming so much easier! Buy one!

I bought a Darwin Grip for my FS 90 2 years ago. My god what a difference. I'm 6'1" and still had to bend just slightly and this did the trick. Mine isn't a quick adjust, but when you get it in the right spot, you're set.

I was so sick and tired of back pain with my Stihl FS110R.
I changed it over to a handlebar and shoulder harness.
Now I can operate the trimmer for hours with no pain!

  • @rudyrodriguez9097
    @rudyrodriguez9097 ปีที่แล้ว +10

Take it to another level of comfort. Use a strap or harness also and free your arms from having to support it completely. I dont have the Darwins grip but another type of extended handle combined with a strap and its a complete game changer. Between that and the power of my Husqvarna 535LK it actually makes it fun to use. My trimming can be 4 hours a week or more so everything helps!
BTW, the Stihl straps are the most comfortable I have found. Good padding.

Great video. Forget back pain. I am 6'2". I always try to wear a harness, but I never get the right angel while cutting. Usually I end my cutting experience with a blister on the inside of my right forearm from the heat of the engine. I am definitely investing in this product asap. Thank you. BTW, wearing a harness always causes me to stoop. Yuck. Very excited about this idea.

I’ve been using one since my Echo 2620T was new. It’s a complete game changer. Don’t be afraid to experiment with lots of different adjustments. I can trim with my arms comfortably straight but not hanging and my back straight. I literally can go for hours, until my hands are numb from the vibration and my back (which is already shot) is fine. I’ve never been able to use a trimmer this long before.

I found the best weed trimmer shoulder strap ever and it is dirt cheap & light weight. I have a straight shaft Hitachi (CG23ECPSL 22.5 cc) Love the trimmer never had a issue in 6 years starts in two pulls every time. I put a handle bar on it too so I can stand straight up. But the issue I always hate with a shoulder strap is if you need to reach further away from your body it is attached firm and you have to lean over a bit when you do. I use a strap made for a AR15 or those "so called" assault rifles. It has a bungee type cord and it stretches a good 5 to 6 inches. OMG it was a game changer for my busted up old body. I had no way to really attach it, so I braided a piece of paracord about 6 inches with a loop on the end that my quick release hooks too. Awesome when you need to fuel or restring as you do not have to take the sling off. One quick release and you you take it on and off. The strap I use I put on it they do not make but the one in my link here is almost Identical. I was not a fan of it on my rifle so I purchased a better one.
I was trimming one day and my back was killing me and I thought this will work until I get a proper sling. That was like 6 years ago and I will never use anything else. But this device here would par good with it too. Check it out! I think Amazon has them too. Just be sure it has bungee's. I promise you will love it. I set my buddy up the same way and he has thanked me so many times. We both have auto immune disorders that are wrecking our joints. Sorry for a long reply. I just really love it and want to pass it on.

    I need this! But, first:
I posted this on your old video about replacing a pull rope. And, let me add that trying to rewind the spring over and over wasn’t successful.
Help. I love your videos. You are so friendly and skilled.
I've been a single mom and done everything from replace washer parts to fight kudzu. Now, at 62 i feel old and incompetent. And frustrated.
I have spent over 100 HOURS😮 this summer trying to replace the recoil on a 1998 ? Craftsman self propelled that ran fine until the rope stayed limp.
I bought the one pc self enclosed unit from Amazon, at half the price of a Sears one. Money is tight. To get to the old one, there was a plastic top cover, but the recoil was seated under a metal front shroud, which went under a plastic rear shroud for the gas and oil. I've bought sets and sets of sockets and screwdrivers! Now, the recoil doesn't turn the---shit, i forgot the word. It seems to rock on top, though I measured both, including the pawls. When the recoil is put into the metal cover, no screw holes line up. I put all the screws in a magnetic bowl, but i still can't make any fit!
OMG, i dont know what to do. I can't spend ANOTHER 50 bucks.
    APaul's. Please?

Bought one of these based on the video. I’m 6’2 and previously could only run a 1/2 tank of fuel through my trimmer before the ergonomics got to me. With the new grip I can run 3 full tanks before I even need a break. I also added a bungee sling and can run through six tanks of fuel a day without any problems.

that is pretty cool. I have a Hitachi 21cc straight shaft I love. It starts with in 2 pulls no matter how long it has set and is mega stout for how light it is. It had a horrible little rounded handle like e=very other cheap trimmer. I put a handle bar type handle on it and I use it standing up tall with no pain. But the biggest thing that I did to save my back and shoulders is I put a sling on it. But not any sling I used a cheap single point bungee sling made for a AR type rifle. I had to braid a short piece of paracord that hooks to the trimmer and then the clip on the sling attaches to it. The place it out shines any other sling is it hangs on bungee cords. So if you need to stretch the trimer away from you to get that un even spot you do not have to hunch down like other slings to get the give. 100% the best combo I ever have had for a trimmer. I have had 5 shoulder surgeries and degenerative disk disease and a lot of other health problems. my arms hold no weight when trimming. I just have to point it the direction I want to cut. The sling I used is a UTG single point but they have been discontinued but this one here looks like it. Try this on a trimmer it is Amazing. I have been using this same rig 6 years now.

I installed one of these on the trimmer for my Stihl KM110 a couple years ago. Money well spent!! I'm 6'1" and it really saves a lot of back pain and overall effort. Still use a harness but it's adjusted just right to work with the Darwin grip. I recommend a slight offset so left hand is to the side somewhat, not inline with the shaft.

Great accessory suggestion! I usually burn my right forearm . Darwin will take care of that too. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks just bought it, with the link. I have a Stihl FS 90 and some days it does get a bit heavy feeling.

Thanks for the tip. I will be buying a new trimmer next season since my 7 year old one is about done and I am more than done with it. It is a curved shaft and next time I will buy a straight shaft trimmer.
