'Horrifying Growth of Persecution': Christians Are Under Attack Across the Globe, 'No End in Sight'

- Christian persecution continues to rage across the globe, with believers facing killings, kidnappings, chaos, and crises at the hands of governments, extremists, and even family members. Among the persecution trends unfolding today, Open Doors, an organization monitoring Christian persecution worldwide, warns that "Sub-Saharan Africa faces catastrophic collapse" as Islamist violence breaks out in the region. The organization's 2023 World Watch List, which ranks the 50 nations where persecution is the worst, warns of the "horrifying growth" of these terrors. As it has for many years in the past, the report ranked North Korea as the most sinister place for Christians. The nation's newfound "anti-reactionary thought law" reportedly cracks down on any foreign materials, putting residents in danger for simply possessing or sharing outside content. One report indicates three minors were reportedly executed for sharing South Korean TV shows, offering a lens into the diabolical nature of these regulations. "North Korea returns to No. 1, with its highest levels of persecution ever," Open Doors said in a press release. "Over the 30 years of the Open Doors World Watch List reporting, the global phenomenon of Christian persecution has grown alarmingly." Lisa Pearce, the interim CEO of Open Doors' U.S. office, reflected on the dire nature of these findings. In an interview with CBN's Faithwire, she stressed the importance of Christians knowing and understanding the full scope of global persecution, citing biblical commands for believers to offer love, support, and prayer for one another.

As an Indian Muslim I'd say that violence against Christians in India have seen a serious uptick. Missionaries are being falsely blamed for "forced conversion" by Hindu idolator extremists and lynched or the churches are being attacked, this year was the worst and it keeps getting worst.
As Muslims and the largest minority of India we hold a position of responsibility to represent minorities. Muslims and Christians in India are in the same boat. We do what is possible to protest against violence against minorities but we see little to no help coming from Christians country abroad to oppose nazist BJP here.

I am from India. My daughter was ill . One day I met believers in train. They prayed for my daughter. Jesus healed my daughter. God did miracle in my life. Now every Sunday I go to church for prayer. I met pastor. He explained holy bible. I really found peace. Christian are growing in Punjab state and other states. Thank you Jesus.

Years ago ( 1994) when I was 7 months pregnant with my second child I went into hiding 4,000 km from my abusive partner...
My oldest son was 3 at the time and he had seen a ' circus ' from his second storey window, which was down the street from the house I was renting.
There were all manner of jugglers, hoop spinners ect on the grounds and people camped all around the big tent. I took my 3 year old son inside and sat down waiting for the show to begin...I was at a Christian revival meeting, but I didn't know it as I had never seen one before...
An Asian man got up to the front, some 5,000 people were listening inside and outside the tent on loud speakers - filling the 20 acre field....
As the man spoke about how difficult it was to get a Bible behind the red wall of China and how they take each Bible apart - so if you get caught with it you only loose the 2 pages ( back and front = 4 pages total) yet 1 page or an entire Bible, the punishment was the same...10 lashes the first time, 30 the second, 50 the third, and prison camp on the fourth - never to be seen or heard from again...as he spoke he removed his shirt and began to walk up and down the isles, asking people to touch his scars, and to see how each new set of lashes cut through the scars from the last set...
Christians in China are constantly in fear of being found out, and suffer greatly to worship, and we westerners take for granted our right to choose to believe and worship God...
His scars made me think about what Jesus suffered, how he was whipped, beaten, spat on, mocked, made to carry his cross through the streets, stripped naked and nailed to a Roman cross, a crown of thorns placed on his head, hung next to criminals though he was innocent....
A day is coming when we too shall be openly hated for our beliefs, where perverse doctrines will be welcome among many churches, homosexuality will be celebrated and encouraged as openly gay priests and pastors are welcomed on the pulpit and preach inclusion ideology- corrupting God's master plan under the guise of love and acceptance

Persecution has really increased here in India. People's houses are burned, pastors, leaders and churches are beaten, killed destroyed everyday. Public preaching has been banned, prayer meeting, house fellowship are restricted. However God is Good, we see many new believers coming to Christ. All glory to God. Amen

Keep fighting the good fight of faith like a good soldier of Christ. In the UK the fight is different though still hard. UK is very atheist and now even paganism is creeping in. No Churches in the UK teach the Bible or how to get through tribulation. It is all entertainment and compromised with the world. England is too fat off its own riches but now here too we are seeing people go hungry and struggle and are confused on why we are here and what is the meaning. Atheists who used to gloat are now being afraid of going without food, without money, without jobs or defaulting on mortgages. It is all coming to an end, the last days.

I vividly recall attending a particular Baptist service sometime in the late 60's. The pastor was teaching about the book of Revelation and the coming suffering and persecution of The Church and true Christian believers at the hands of non-believers and haters of God! I remember looking at my girlfriend and giving her a smirk, a bit like "this will NEVER happen in OUR lifetime."
Fast forward to today. My pastor's prophetic words from that day so many years gone by, now resonate in my soul and chill me to the core. May God have mercy on us and give us the strength we need to endure the assault that's already upon us by the one who would destroy and kill.

My local priest was Nigerian, dear Fr Tony. I use 'was' as he is struggling leading his flock due to the religious persecution in his homeland, that has effected his colleagues, family and friends. 'Stay steadfast in faith brothers and sisters', for it is written Jesus and his bride will prevail. As an Indian Muslim I'd say that violence against Christians in India have seen a serious uptick. Missionaries are being falsely blamed for "forced conversion" by Hindu idolator extremists and lynched or the churches are being attacked, this year was the worst and it keeps getting worst.
As Muslims and the largest minority of India we hold a position of responsibility to represent minorities. Muslims and Christians in India are in the same boat. We do what is possible to protest against violence against minorities but we see little to no help coming from Christians country abroad to oppose nazist BJP here.

Hello. I am James. I am 51 years old. When I was 14 years old I was working for my Uncle for room and board as I had to take care of myself. I worked hard day and night. I tried to go to school but had little time for sleep. I was basically a slave for my Uncle in his asphalt maintenance and landscaping company. I never got money, only food and shelter. I had no time for church even though I was a believer in Jesus Christ. I had little time for school. I missed being able to go to church so one day I walked a few miles to go to church when I had a break from work. By now I was 16 years old. I was in an abusive environment around drugs and Atheists and was worked so much I had to quit school. I was so relieved to go to church and be around Christians even if it was just for a short time in church. Everyone was so warm, friendly, and welcoming. There was even a gentleman that gave me a ride home. As soon as I got home my Uncle beat me severely and left lying on the ground in front of the house when he was finished beating me. He was a big man and didn't hold back with the blows that I received. He then said "where are your Christian friends now". I didn't go back to church until I was free of him at age 18. I got my GED and eventually got married. I met my wife in church. Years later she told my "I don't know why I went into that church, I'm no even a religious person". She cheated on me and that ended the marriage. Through it all God was always there. I could always feel his presence. We may get persecuted and hurt as Christians but persecution is temporary, but eternal life with Jesus Christ is forever. Praise God.
It's not only Christians that are being subjected to persecution but even those who are standing up for what is right.
Christians in West sadly don't seems. Too much prosperity teaching yet not offering hands to the brothers and sisters in dire situations. The church need to wake up and take action

I remember a priest, in Providence,RI.That he was gonna pay 1000.00 for a virgin..I can't remember if it was for a boy or girl.I was 17 at the time and the guy I was with took me with him.The priest did not care that I heard this.This totally messed me up.Because I thought church was supposed to be good.This happened 40 years ago.I was heart broken.and very confused.I have been to churches,here where I live and every single one was corrupt.I don't try anymore.Just me and my Bible safe at home.God knows me and Jesus is with me.I feel like the Holy Spirit is and has been with me, otherwise I would have been dead a long time ago,Amen.
