- Courtney Love is interviewed in Canada (Sept. 93) It was filmed:
- two days before the duo with Kurt Cobain where both sang "Pennyroyal Tea"&"Where Did You Sleep Last Night"
-four days after the VMA's
Love his interviews with her, could listen to them go back and forth all day long, she's great
Interviewer: look we have what? (proceeds to show a magazine with Kurt on the cover)
Courtney: oh, this guy snuck into my house
I love how the Miracle Workers question really opened her up.
Courtney in the 1st 4 minutes: "I hate you. Get him out of here."
Courtney after 4 minutes: "What a great question. I have a story for you, do you want to hear it?"
And this ladies and gentlemen is why he is the best interviewer of all time.
Nardwuar is one of the best, but in 1991 he wasn't prepared for Courtney's interview. That's why she didn't want him to interview her again in 1993. He was prepared this time and it showed.

I think it's more the fact CL was willing to give Nardwaur the time to win her over, after he persisted with questions, rather than go all-out defence mode. And even when the promised 'gifts' were not so great!

NARDWUAR: I am sorry...
COURTNEY: You're asking the most obnoxious questions. They're like rude and pointless and they don't mean anything about anything.
NARDWUAR: Okay, well I guess in the future I should do more research.
COURTNEY: Possibly.
NARDWUAR: Would that have been better? Finally, here, what would have been the best question to ask you, Courtney of the rock band Hole?
COURTNEY: I have no idea, Nardwuar.
NARDWUAR: Okay thank you very much.
COURTNEY: Goodbye.

I have the full interview (this was cut off by several minutes) in better quality, however it's still kinda rough/grainy cuz the room was really dimly lit (it was a basement) and it wasn't a HD camera of course lol. I can't upload it though cuz Nardwuar doesn't like the full thing out there. He searches for it on TH-cam every few years and files a copyright claim. Idk why, the interview ends on a fantastic note with Courtney being really sweet to Nardwuar. Kristen talks even more in the footage that was cut from this upload, and Courtney goes on and on about what a brilliant bass player she is. Highkey brags about her being in the band lol. I have it on Google Drive but I don't think I can link it here :(
@bradpity Oh wow, how interesting! I am really big into Kristen Pfaff. She was an absolutely extraordinary musician, so hearing even a moment of her speaking (when there is so little footage of her doing so) is precious to me. Are there any other platforms that you can upload that video to...even if just the Kristen portion on here? DailyMotion? Is it possible to send via Insta? I only really would Love the parts that feature Kristen. That would be incredible! 🖤

Not to mention she was ALL UP on the BIZ part of the music industry. She is/was direct, ambitious, bright, honest in that she would just TELL PPL, worldly, strong, artistic, and a driver type personality. Love her or hate her. She didnt care. I can see why someone like Kurt (such a soft soul that just wants to make music and feel safe) would be attracted to her and want her to be his partner

At that time, she hated all media and all journalists, due to the Vanity Fair article. You can tell she has respect for Nardwuar, and actually likes him. A few months later, he interviewed Nirvana, and they didn’t want to talk to him, but Courtney told Kurt in the interview that she kind of likes Nardwuar, and they should give him a chance.

I can definitely see the narc stuff but, that doesn't mean she was a dummy by any means. There's a lot a person can learn about her simply by watching this interview. Where her mind is, all that. I wonder where Nardwar (sp?) is today.
