lol... I've had battles where I got caught by surprise by a BB (I know, situational awareness etc :P ), and had to just go for it and do as much damage as I could. Load the AP, and rush them head-on, then try to get around them, while unloading into the stern. That works as well.

I did grind this. It was a tough grind. I'm at the Brooklyn now. Much better with Brooklyn. Some guy in a De Grasse decided to brawl with my Brooklyn. Bad move.
I don't have a huge amount of time atm, but we'll get to that - I'm quite excited about the RN BBs. I've done this in the Agincourt already - full health DD, boom, headshot.

I lost my WOWS Blitz account(KaptVonMuller) about 2.5 months ago. My LG V10 suddenly died(after 4 years of praiseworthy service), and I bought a new smartphone. But after downloading the game, I attempted to login, (unknowingly) using the wrong email address, which was linked to my very 1st account(an account I had deleted 2 years ago after just 5-7 tier 1 games played). That effectively deleted my real account with over 1500 games, and a 49.6% WR. So I was suddenly stuck with a new acct with 6 tier 1 ships and almost no resources! I had $15 in Google play, so I bought 30 days of premium play(1st time ever), and started over! My new screen name is BullHalsey. Now after practicing more in AI than ever before, and playing 90% of my games in teams of 2-3 players(with 50% to 65% win rates), my personal W/R is at 66.3% with roughly 250 games played. I think you are right about the Dallas not being all that terrible. I'm guessing my poor results with it were related more to my own lackluster skills than anything else...
Dallas is not an easy ship to play. Keep in mind that I've been grinding through the Brooklyn and Cleveland, which have the same guns, plus some added practice back with the Dallas, so I'm quite used to the handling of the 6''/47s. I'd thoroughly recommend signing up with a wargaming account - that way, even when switching devices, you won't lose your game state. I regularly switch between my personal and my press account on the same device without trouble.
They lead down two different paths. Personally, at tier 6, I'd prefer the Pensacola, but Brooklyn and Cleveland are very good light support cruisers. Both lines have excellent AA, the light cruisers have a bit more utility against destroyers with radar and sobar, the heavy cruisers are tankier and can do a lot of damage with the rapid reload.

Well it is true that dallas is not an extremely bad ship. I played dallas for a while and max range AP against light armor bbs (IJN and french) can sometimes get u cits and mostly full pens but the moment the bbs come into 8-9kmish range i suggest HE
Yes, the heavy shells can do pretty well when coming in straight from the top, but with her dispersion, I usually don't try - also, since they're 150s, they only do 150% citadel damage

I thought it had something to do with the odds of actually getting citadels, compared with some (unknown) numerical standard! By watching this video I also learned that the game's "Detected" alert only remains on while you're detected, but goes off as soon as you are out of detection range. Honestly, my ADD made it so I didn't even pay attention to what happens to the alert sign after it initially pops up! I didn't even notice whether or not it remained on the screen, and for how long! 😁 I played WOT for about 2.5 years, and it's detection dynamics worked differently than this. Most players wouldn't even receive a detection alert at all, unless you're commander has the special "sixth sense" skill, which requires some grinding. But even if you do have that skill, it doesnt just remain on the screen until you dropped out of detection range.
No time, the battle was almost over, and with 4% fire chance, he'd damage-con the first, and it would be over while his damage control was still active. I was close enough to citadel him, going for maximum damage. If I hadn't fluffed that salvo when the BB hit me, I'd have gotten him still :)
@@BenTheTiger131 the idea of using ap finishing time is for maximum damage, he is for initial game where you could hope rng for fire, at the end of the game, even if it caught fire, the time will be up for any fire damage
Like where you are coming from but if it’s a Carrier I set fires on that son of a bitch and burn to dead because the only way you can knock out the Carrier’s flight deck is by using HE
BEN THE TIGER131 you can't knock out a CV flight deck in blitz. That is PC version.

I seem to have pretty good luck with AP against IJN battleships,idk about in tier 6 but pretty much 7+ after I set em on fire I'll switch to AP, but only from mid-close range but not too close, and in a Brooklyn or schors or whatever, seems like different nations tend to (naturally of course) have different armor schemes or more emphasis on speed,less armor, more armor= less speed,I'm one of those weirdos who will citadel ya in a cruiser, I prefer those over fires but if I'm getting bounces I'll switch back to HE after no more than 2 salvos, I won't waste my time, but great video, horrible ship😁
I like using AP in cruisers. Too many CL drivers don't know when to switch, and will just stick with HE since it's preselected. IJN BBs are notorious for their relatively weak armour (IDK about Yama, but I've citadel'd the crap out of a Musashi with German 380s), you can often punch through the belt with BB AP. At close range, I'd fire AP from cruisers as well.

To make myself feel better when I play this ship I only fire 1 turret every 2 seconds so it makes me feel like I'm a HE spammer.

@@onewingedangel6196 It’s easy to get used to HE spamming. Play both Svietlana and Omaha to HE spam ships to death.

Why can't you just uninstall the game and reinstall and log in with the actual account?

I don’t think the Dallas is that bad. If played cautiously and using maneuvering she is pretty deadly. Still not a favourite or first choice.

Use AP in cruisers if a battleship is close to you. Fire at its bow, stern, and superstructure, it’s very effective.
