The Yahagi is actually an Agano Class cruiser. It gets 4X4 torpedo tubes, 6 guns. I personally enjoyed it, but I haven't played it in months. I am starting the American cruiser line, but I'm going down the light cruisers first before I give the heavy cruisers a try.

Terry, As a retired USN Captain, I thoroughly enjoy your videos and the descriptive history of the ships that you provide. Thank you for your research and hard work bringing these old ships back to life. While I consider myself an average player in Blitz, I have learned so much by watching your channel! Pensacola is a personal favorite of mine along with the Indianapolis. Please keep up the great work my friend and BRAVO ZULU to you for your dedication to the ships of the line!

@@arseniymenshikh7508 Hello and thank you for your question. I served in the Spruance Class destroyers USS Arthur W. Radford DD 968 in the 1980s, USS THORN DD 988 in the early 1990s, then Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers USS FITZGERALD DDG 62, and USS JOHN PAUL JONES DDG 53. While I was at sea for many years, I did not have the pleasure to command any afloat units. I was a Limited Duty Ordnance Officer in a specialized field. I did have the pleasure to command the following activities/ units: Navy Munitions Command Unit Guam, Training Support Center San Diego, Commander Mobile Mine Assembly Group San Diego, Naval Support Facility Deveselu, Romania and Naval Support Facility, Redzikowo, Poland. I also had the privilege to lead Aegis Training and Readiness Center Detachment San Diego, Naval Munitions Command Sasebo Japan, Ammunition Management Office Pacific, and the Center for Surface Combat Systems Detachment West. I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1983 as a Gunner’s Mate and worked on the MK 45 5”/54 Gun System. I was a promoted to Chief Gunner’s Mate in 1991 and then was commissioned as a Limited Duty Ordnance Officer in 1994. I retired as a Navy Captain in 2021 after 38 years of service. Trust me, I have had plenty of time at sea plying the world’s oceans and being stationed overseas…now I only engage in sea stories and contacts on Blitz. Happy Hunting😄

Thank you Sir! I've never served in the armed forces myself, and I'm just looking at these ships from the eyes of an amateur historian, but I find it important to remember at least some of their deeds, if they existed.
USS New Orleans and Indianapolis reviews in the coming weeks.

One of my favorites, even after getting the whole US cruiser line. Once you learn how to play it, the guns are great and very maneuverable.

Pensacola (nicked named the Coca Cola ship, by me) is a ship I really enjoyed, great guns, good armor, and a pretty good speed
It was all I wanted in a heavy cruiser, though I have since sold the ship

I like how near the end of the second battle, you left attacking the CV to go help elsewhere. You saw there were 3 ships heading that way, and you said “he dead”.

I was recently reminded of what a Pensacola can do when I tan headlong into one in a Gokase and got wrecked with that US AP.

Not the greatest armour on the earlier CAs, but yes, at close range, they can hit hard.

I remember seeing somewhere that, despite being designed as a 10.000 tons treaty cruiser, some calculation error meant she was, when built, seriously underweight, I think 2 thousand tons less than designed?
Now, if that's true or not, I guess it doesn't matter that much, it's still a tin can.

    • @FunandGameswithTerry

Haven't seen that, but yes, either way, her armour, or lack thereof, didn't stop her

@@FunandGameswithTerry I've got the line up until Witchita Struggling to get further because she's so fragile and most matches I play are open water or have little islands. The light cruiser line is a lot better and those radar and sonar consumables really help when DD hunting and holding off a DD assault.

Stark reminder that the "heavy" in CA refers only to the gun calibre. A lesson that still works well at T7.

why are US ships so goddamn tall? Omaha is a giant, and it makes me wonder where exactly the concealment point is on these things. My own theory is that if your flag is hidden, you're concealed but idk tho. WeeGee isn't really saying.

in pc its calculated on the conning tower. if your in the enemy spotting range and your conning towers have LOS you can spot them. i would assume its similar here
