  • #Elvis preyed on #PriscillaPresley from a young age... After the age of 15 her life was consumed by Elvis and his career. Priscilla's parents passed her off to Elvis with little to no concern and from that point on, she was his. Let's get into it.

The parents definitely wanted this for their daughter. What Elvis did was wrong but the parents are in the wrong as well. In a way it was very common back then my grandma married a man that was 22 years older then her.

My grandmother told me her story once. She had no mother. Lived with her father. Her father (my great grandfather) worked long hours so she was left to be cared for by a neighbor lady who was married and had her family. She would keep an eye on grandma until great grandfather got home every day. When she was 13 this man moved to the neighborhood, my grandfather. According to my grandma my grandad was 30 at the time. Not too long after he moved to the neighborhood he spotted my grandma and asked the neighbor about her. He said he wanted to get married and that he would like her to be his wife. The neighbor told him she would mention it to her dad, my great gf. Anyways, in the going back and forth great grandfather agreed he could marry her if he waited until she turned 16. The neighbor lady was asked to teach her to be a homemaker to prepare her for marriage. Grandma told me it was rough for the next few years bc all she wanted to do was play with her friends. When she turned 15 the lady neighbor told my great grandfather that he should let him marry her already. Grandma married a 30+ year old when she was just 15. She said life was hard, he would beat her when she burned dinner or if he found her playing hopscotch outside with her friends. I never met my great grandfather but i did meet grandpa. He was good looking man with beautiful blue eyes but boy he always seemed grouchy or just too serious of a man. They were married over 50 years. He passed away when i was in my teens. Grandma lived about 30 years longer. Never married again. Once i asked her if she planned to marry and she said, "Good gracious, no, i never want to have to clean, cook or wash somebody else clothes. I am happy with my life, i come and go when i want to and i have good loving family and friends, that is all i need." 🥰 She was kind and loving and she helped other ppl. in anyway she could.

There are a lot of people who call her a “gold digger” and claim she manipulated HIM!! She was a star struck child for goodness sakes. At the time Elvis told a friend she, “was young enough for me to train her anyway I want” like she was some sort of pet and not a human being/his wife.
The truth is after Elvis died Elvis’ father Vernon actually came to her and asked for help coming up with a plan to conserve Presley’s legacy. She came up with the whole concept of treating Graceland like a museum and is the one that SAVED the family from losing it to creditors after Elvis died. EP made massive amounts of money but he was a big spender and had a crooked manager that took half of what Elvis earned.
I think some people expected her to not have a life and grieve for the rest of hers. I’m glad she was able to escape when she did. 🤷‍♀️
Also, just to be clear I don’t agree with a lot of things he did.

Those who say it was a different time ignore the fact that people EVEN THEN thought it was weird and gross. Just because your grandparents did it doesn't mean everyone did. Also doesn't mean that those who did don't regret it or would wish it on their children. Like slavery, there was always an opposing side. You can't paint history that simply. He had to convince the parents for a reason. They all failed her.
Everyone saying he didn't groom because he waited to sleep with her is forgetting the sexual polaroids he took of her instead. He didn't touch her so she could be "pure", so he watched instead. Not better.
Finally, those who say it wasn't a big deal are ignoring the fact that he also abused her. Giving someone a black eye and throwing a chair at them is definitely abuse and violent behavior. But because society didn't take domestic violence seriously back then, should that be excused too?
    Weirdos.

    • @skel760

Exactly!! And they say that he waited until they married. Even if that’s true He still fooled around with her. He was grooming her so when he did marry her, Bam 💥 he had her under his control. And let’s not forget he would literally slap her forehead when she would look up bc he didn’t want wrinkles. Slapped her….while doing her homework. The fact she was doing school work is creepy enough. He also would shoot his gun randomly at TVs and whatever else while she was right there. All these people
Defending this would sing a different tune if it was their precious daughter or granddaughter and some no money, no fame dude was doing this to her. They ask why does she say she loves him if he was so bad… Stockholm syndrome is real. He was a charming master manipulator. A mind f*k

Elvis was grooming virgin Priscilla for marriage, an ideal wife and mother. But as we all know it didn’t work out for him. Priscilla did her thing. Still recovering from it even being in a healthy relationship with my now bf of almost 5yrs and it's super weird when some of the old responses to the tiniest reminder of a similar situation. Whether that be body language, lack of a response, lack of reassurance etc. It's been a learning experience how to do things normally. I can't imagine if I'd be in her shoes at 14 🙄
My own mother met my father at 13 and he was 19. Were together for 2 decades and finally she left him and her relationship was awful. I'm an only child and convinced her to leave him. Yet I couldn't recognize the situation I was in because I was infatuated with this guy. She then went through a rebellious teenager like phase and would leave home to go live with a bf for a time. I essentially became the older sister and more responsible one because of her reaction to finally being free of the guy who had trapped her for over half her life up to that point.

This video kinda gives me more respect for my husband. We meant after he turned 18, I was 15 about to turn 16. He didn't ask me for my phone number my 18th birthday party. After I graduated high school we hung out some. I started dating someone else. We dated for a year and a half. After we broke up. My now husband asked me on a date. Week and half later we had our official first date. 2 years later I was 21 close to turning 22 he was 23. We got married. I remember him telling me when we started dating that I was too young when we first meant. And after we got engaged he told me he knew that if we ever started dating. We'd we'd up marrying each other. ❤ I love and respect him so much! Now after 7 years marriage he loves me more then he ever has, and continually takes care of me.

I watched the new Elvis movie, and it definitely felt like his relationship with his mom was alluded to being weird: she expresses jealousy over the girls fawning over him, and he gets really close to her, saying "nothing will come between us."
And they also hinted Priscilla's youth, with briefly calling her a teenager, and the stuffed animals seen around her room; plus, during the seperation scene, Elvis tells her, "When you're 40 and I'm 50, we'll get back together."
