I actually grabbed 4 of this sensors, and it took me about 5 minutes and I was able to add this to zigbee without too much issue. I am going to put these around the house, so I am quite pleased. While I was setting this up I thought I might have to register it with Xiaomi, but no I was able to keep it all local.
Hi! Thanks for your video, it was quite clear however, it seems as if the firmware flasher has changed? If I click on the link it's quite different to the version you show.. and after flashing the ATC firmware to mine, I don't see any options to flash a ZigBee version?
thank you for the information, worked perfectly! Is there anyway to get the display to show in Fahrenheit? in Home assistant it shows F, but on the LCD screen its C.
Do you have a measurement device to see the (very low) current draw difference between the two firmware’s? Working out how long the button cell will last is fairly important as the larger 2 AAA zigbee versions of this kind of sensor might be better in that dimension, replacing batteries is easy except when it’s 12 every n months.
Hi Bruce no I don't have a method for measuring the current draw. I will keep an eye on the battery levels. What I can say is that the Zigbee reporting frequency seems to be quite large, like 30 mins. Let's hope this means low current draw
Any know way to get them back to ble (after flashing them to zigbee) ? Got 6 and got 4 of them to zigbee and kept other 2 on BLE. After a couple months the zigbee ones are at 23% while the ones on BLE are at 77% (all were brand new)
My Xiaomi seams to be the same as your´s but I got this massage: Size firmware is more 131072 bytes! Hardware Revision String: B2.0 Software Revision String: 0130.
How often does it updates when o zigbee? And how often it updated before? I have an old rounded version that updates every few seconds on HA over Bluetooth and I want to get more real time data updates.
After trying the ZigBee version. I can not recommend to anyone. As the battery life was so terrible. It drains it in 3 days. Yes form 100% to 0% in 3 days only.i was Lucky enough to get back the bluetooth firmware without soldering.
I will try this whenever I will have some free time to spend with it. Otherwise I'm very satisfied with the BL custom frameware. It's boulet proof as you mentioned in the video.
Oh no, just tried it again and I am getting this error: Size firmware is more 131072 bytes! It looks like they are doing some changes to the firmware. I would recomend trying it again in a few days time, hopefully they will have sorted it out
@@simonsayshomeassistant tks for your video, I also have the same error with my old firmware ATC_3.7, but when I update to ATC_v4.6 first, and then update zigbee firmware, it 's ok now.
After bricking one a few weeks ago I plucked up the courage to try again and this time it went without a hitch. Thanks.
Awesome news, thank you so much for letting me know :)

Fantastic, thank you for the feedback!
Did you connect the sensors to the Xiaomi hub?
@@erdadj No, they connect to the Zigbee radio which is connected to home assistant
@@erdadj No, they connect to my Sonoff zigbee radio
It actually only took about 5 minutes to show up in my ZHA, no need to link to it!
Enjoying the pink backlight
Thank you :)

Hi there Bobby, so glad it worked for you! Sorry I can't seem to find a way to change the display to F

Only a pleasure, so happy that I got it working!
Its afterwards not possbile to connect the telink flasher with a pc again?
I don't think you can connect with bluetooth after they have been flashed to Zigbee. I don't seem to be able to find the ones I have flashed.

Sorry , I can't seem to find a way to convert them back, please let me know if you do find a way1
I found the mistake. The ATC __.bin has to be installed first and then the zigbee can be flashed
Yes that is right you do that by clicking the Zigbee button

Oh no that is really odd. I have flashed 3 of mine now and can't seem to replicate that error!
I'm a bit confused, at 2:21 you enable the features and then at 2:21 you connect. What are you using to connect?
Sorry for not explaining clearly, you go back to the telink flasher and press connect
@@simonsayshomeassistant Thank you
Just to be clear, i gather i open the flasher in a normal browser correct? Or am i doing it in home assistant somehow?
@@robcork2620 Yes, you open the flasher in the browser, I find that Chrome works well!

It seems to update less often on the zigbee protocol and there is no option to change the frequency. On BT you can change the setting
I have just created a new HA instance and the zigbee converted sensor will not connect! Any ideas anyone?
Is there a way to flash bt firmware back to a zigbee one without owning a zigbee gateway? Thanks
They don't seem to show up in the telink flasher any more so I don't think you can
why do we need to flash it to zigbee?
We don't, but it was in interesting process!
How to spot the right version? There is one which can't be flashed to use zigbee.
Check out the link in the video description
Just remove the battery after flashing and put it back in and it will appear immediately in Z2M or ZHA
Great, thanks for your feedback Freier!
@@simonsayshomeassistant great job
Seems like there's a version 3 now
Interesting I will check it out
