At the beginning of this year, I lost half of two stories. Two stories I had spent the previous three months researching and carefully crafting. Lost, tragically, during a blizzard... Due to a phone malfunction that deleted the files. I had forgotten to make backup files. I also had a cold at the time. Today, at the end of this year, I have managed to improve what I had lost and, though both stories will be unfinished for some time due to the fickle nature of the Muse and the unfortunate fact one must earn money to live, I am happy with what I have done so far. I have also learned my lesson about making back-up copies regularly. So though there have been trials against the passions outside of my own head, there is still the option to write a better story of my own. The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune can be fought and conquered. Even if only that of the self. I wish all of you a better year ahead of us! Here's to better stories, better heroes, and kinder thoughts!
It is a lost decade for current media, but it is a Golden Age for Retro Games and Indies with Emulation that's made leaps and bounds playing the old again while fan translations bring games to others that have never played before. Many are hidden gems. Meanwhile, the tiny companies produce games made by small groups of individuals. It is a gold mine of opportunity for the few companies that produce content that gamers want to buy and enjoy. Preserve the old games that you love, and always vote with your wallets. I can fully admit that my generation, Millennials, is obsessed with pop culture. Gen X as well to a slightly lesser degree. We have so much nostalgia for our past because our pop culture, in all its forms, was so great. But what does Gen Z and Gen Alpha have? What will they have to look back on? The corporations have been so eager to cash in on Millennial and Gen X nostalgia that they forgot to make anything for the younger generations. A kid born in 2003 doesn't have any connection to Robocop or Terminator, other than some terrible remakes and sequels. I think that's one of the reasons those generations care more about social media than they do about traditional entertainment. It's kind of sad when you try to imagine their future. They will look back and remember memes and tictok fads. I don't know if the traditional mainstream entertainment entities will ever be able to recapture the younger generations.
Stay strong and be someone you can be proud of. This is a part of life we must all face, not matter how unfair it is. Take care of yourself and support your family who are having a tough time as well.

I'm standing my ground for 2 of mine daughters. I want them to be for real self-empowered, for real smart and for real decent human beings. And those traits are not something you are born into (like gender or sexuality) those things are something you have to work on and live by. Every. Single. Day.
For me the world is in here, it's over out there, half by choice and half by necessity. But the happiest thing about this year were the birthdays and celebrations when my son's friends came by to sit around together. When I see these kids I know, I just know, things will be better. Not because of us, but because they don't give an absolute shit. These kids are unphased, you can't pull the wool over their eyes the same way you could with my generation (I'm gen-x), they were born and lived in social media and while they navigate social media like monitor lizards, they seem to know the waters are murky and not to linger long. There is more wisdom in these 15yos than I ever saw in my generation or the millennials after me. These kids are a new breed. I am hopeful. Thank you for all your content, and your support, your calm, sincerity, well-mannered and chill approach, and most of all bringing back the meaning of nuance.
IRL is more important, agreed, but some of us have been shown by those IRL that we are forgettable, just there, third wheel etc. in the eyes of others. Even the close ones. I ended up distancing myself from people shortly before social media caught on. It has been refreshing. It helped that I was a bit late to the social media stuff (maybe everyone became more distant from me because of social media?). Sometimes they ask "where have you gone", despite how I was clearly unwanted before. I've changed or even started social circles throughout my life and this is the common pattern. I've thought about the deaths of close ones many times. There are many things I want to express or do while they are still alive now... but they don't even care. I guess I can't regret something that was never possible. For some of us, having the internet around here and there is very redeeming. Having voices like yours can be reassuring when it is unfathomable in our personal lives. I think many people are missing this healthy communication and attention IRL, and have gotten lost in the sauce online. I'm just glad I grew up in an age before the social media brain rot.
To say that “the 20’s so far has been a crap decade thus far” would be an understatement; not even halfway, and it’s been a miserable time for the current generations of humanity, and I look forward to see when life improves. The pandemic, the Ukraine invasion, political correctness gone mad going into overdrive in entertainment…it’s not a time I’d say is worth celebrating anything about it, other than the end of it. This has been a long year. A long, *long* year. Six of my friends passed away this year. I'm so battered and beaten from everything this year. All the nonsense, all the forced noise. All of it. I haven't given up though. So long as I get out of bed, I haven't given up.
What an amazing video. Ive watched some of your videos on and off but this one definitely made me subscribe. I lost my grandma 2 months ago and my dad lost one of his best friends shortly before xmas. So just been trying to be a rock for both of my parents this holiday. It was a rough year. Ive gone to multiple other funerals for friends, family and coworkers throughout the year. Video games definitely have been a blessing to get my mental back up in hard times. But this is such a good reminder to just cherish everyday like it’s your last. Heres to hoping we can all find our own happiness and love for each-other in this new year and the years to come. I'm standing my ground for 2 of mine daughters. I want them to be for real self-empowered, for real smart and for real decent human beings. And those traits are not something you are born into (like gender or sexuality) those things are something you have to work on and live by. Every. Single. Day.

Happy new year to you and the viewers. 2024 was a bit rough, but your videos have made me chuckle more times than i can count. Priceless.
For me the world is in here, it's over out there, half by choice and half by necessity. But the happiest thing about this year were the birthdays and celebrations when my son's friends came by to sit around together. When I see these kids I know, I just know, things will be better. Not because of us, but because they don't give an absolute shit. These kids are unphased, you can't pull the wool over their eyes the same way you could with my generation (I'm gen-x), they were born and lived in social media and while they navigate social media like monitor lizards, they seem to know the waters are murky and not to linger long. There is more wisdom in these 15yos than I ever saw in my generation or the millennials after me. These kids are a new breed. I am hopeful. Thank you for all your content, and your support, your calm, sincerity, well-mannered and chill approach, and most of all bringing back the meaning of nuance.

IRL is more important, agreed, but some of us have been shown by those IRL that we are forgettable, just there, third wheel etc. in the eyes of others. Even the close ones. I ended up distancing myself from people shortly before social media caught on. It has been refreshing. It helped that I was a bit late to the social media stuff (maybe everyone became more distant from me because of social media?). Sometimes they ask "where have you gone", despite how I was clearly unwanted before. I've changed or even started social circles throughout my life and this is the common pattern. I've thought about the deaths of close ones many times. There are many things I want to express or do while they are still alive now... but they don't even care. I guess I can't regret something that was never possible.
For some of us, having the internet around here and there is very redeeming. Having voices like yours can be reassuring when it is unfathomable in our personal lives. I think many people are missing this healthy communication and attention IRL, and have gotten lost in the sauce online. I'm just glad I grew up in an age before the social media brain rot.

To say that “the 20’s so far has been a crap decade thus far” would be an understatement; not even halfway, and it’s been a miserable time for the current generations of humanity, and I look forward to see when life improves. The pandemic, the Ukraine invasion, political correctness gone mad going into overdrive in entertainment…it’s not a time I’d say is worth celebrating anything about it, other than the end of it.

2024 was actually a very special year for me and my wife (and dogs).
We moved to another country leaving all we had behind, to start a new. It was a though process will tell you that much, but it’s already starting to pay off.
May 2025 be a year of blessings and may more people be able to open eyes and hearts.

This has been a long year. A long, *long* year. Six of my friends passed away this year. I'm so battered and beaten from everything this year. All the nonsense, all the forced noise. All of it. I haven't given up though. So long as I get out of bed, I haven't given up.

Ive watched some of your videos on and off but this one definitely made me subscribe. I lost my grandma 2 months ago and my dad lost one of his best friends shortly before xmas. So just been trying to be a rock for both of my parents this holiday. It was a rough year. Ive gone to multiple other funerals for friends, family and coworkers throughout the year. Video games definitely have been a blessing to get my mental back up in hard times. But this is such a good reminder to just cherish everyday like it’s your last. Heres to hoping we can all find our own happiness and love for each-other in this new year and the years to come. Thank you so much for this video 🤙🏾
