hi there, friend. always a pleasure to see one of your videos and this one was no exception first, i totally agree with you about physical books. i have tried audiobooks and i've been a miserable failure with them. just can't do it. electronic books are also not for me though i did get the cheapest kindle many years ago because i lived overseas and traveled a lot so i couldn't take actual physical books with me. i don't like it but the kindle served a purpose. now that i'm living back in the u.s. i rarely use my kindle. i enjoy the feel of a book in my hands and i believe research shows that what happens in the brain is quite different when you do that congratulations on your dragon plant. and good luck! i'm a miserable failure with plants and kill them by either putting too much water or not enough. i just can't win so i no longer try. shame. having plants around really does lift one's spirits very happy to hear that you enjoyed two gentlemen of verona. i can't wait to hear what you think of hamlet. warning! i am an english teacher and one of my specialties is shakespeare. i hesitate to say that i am an expert but i know a lot about his work and, of course, i've taught hamlet many, many times to seniors. don't be intimidated by the language (early modern english) and remember that shakespeare's work rewards multiple readings. enjoy! michael moorcock is one of those writers that i have been hearing about for decades but i've never gotten around to him. i suppose i probably thought he was more fantasy than science fiction and i do prefer science fiction. still, i read plenty of fantasy so not sure why i have steered away from him. i should probably pick up something by him especially with what's happened lately.... what am i talking about? well, there's this other author that i've been hearing about for ages as well and i finally picked up one of his books. omg. amazing! excellent writing and thoughtful ideas. in fact, i've read three books by him in the last month. all three were different and yet excellent. i can't recommend him highly enough. who? thomas m disch. i've now read the puppies of terra (a satire), 334 (sf with a sociological focus), and on wings of song (dystopia). disch has an interesting history as well. i can't wait to read more by him and am now on the hunt for all his books. fortunately, i do have three more old paperbacks on my shelves that i've found over the past weeks which are ready to go. keep an eye out for his work though he's not easy to find in used bookstores but, of course, that makes the hunt all the more fun yay! it's great that you are going to read dickinson's poems how they were meant to be read. let me know if you think her style makes a difference to you. poe's sonnet is awesome. he has so many wonderful poems. take a look at alone; it's one of my favorites i must admit i've never been a gaiman fan. i read a couple of his things years ago and never went back for more. if the allegations against him are true, then let's hope he gets what he deserves i'm not going to comment on the news this week. you and i are pretty much in agreement when it comes to our overlords. evil! i'm sure you saw the news about the hamas leader being killed in iran. what do you think are the chances that corporate news will say iran has a right to defend itself? we both know the answer to that! good luck with your future plans to visit family in arizona. quick question for you: is there a way to reach you directly and privately? why? i have some books i may want to send your way cheers 🚗🚗🚗

No kidding about the omnibus!!! I have to sit (buy a pillow) and read at the kitchen table, it’s kinda a hassle but it’s worth it. I just went to another Shakespeare in the park last night (Henry the sixth) and it was just a straight up play (no singing no dancing) so it was a little boring but still pretty good , guess I just got used to the updated versions but you should definitely check it out .Falkor is growing already 🚘🚘🚘
🚙 Moorcock is great, man. I haven't read that quartet yet, but the other stuff . . . guy doesn't pull punches. I think you'd like Behold the Man. I'm surprised he was allowed to publish that book.
Audiobooks work when I go walking. Fortunately I have someplace close by few people use and I can get into the zone. 5 miles for 2 hours of focused listening while keeping in shape. Doesn’t work for all books and need good narration. I’m quick to DNF audiobooks but often move them to the physical TBR.
I have that CJ Cherryh on my tbr too. I read the first three in her Foreigner series and I enjoyed them - she writes interesting alien societies. 🌻 I'm not surprised about the Three Body Problem 😊 it's a very love or hate kinda book. I read it when it first came out and I was very excited for a non-Western hard sci fi story. You made a good point about how the CCP only allows books that tow the line to be released - if you're aware of it you learn how to read around the propaganda just like we've learnt how to read around Western neolib propaganda. End of the world for real 🔥😭

🚘 I read The Ice Schooner by Moorcock recently. It was my first book by him and It was a fun read. I recommend, The Wind-up Bird Chronicles by Murakami. Love the plant 🪴
I got a whole pile of murakami books to read (including wind up birds). but i really feel like i will go insane with questions if i read another too soon. Moorcock is quickly moving up my TBR, and now that i gave up on "3 body" theres a void to be filled 🚗🌱

You are so much more than a "poor person", you are unique, full of love and life, and you inspire people that you probably will never meet through your videos. I really feel like so many people avoid reading out of a fear of looking or feeling stupid. i want ppl to see me and all my mistakes and feel, "if this guy can do it, so can i" The name was just something i thought was funny at the time but i really feel it goes well with the overall message of what i want for the channel that reading is for everyone. plus poor ppl dont get enough representation (even in books) thanks so much for the kind words 💪
