Where was the saving of your soul part? When the rich young ruler came to Jesus asking what must he do to inherit eternal life what did Jesus tell him? I didn’t hear this in the video.
I mean being honest I don't believe in God. However this didn't piss me off. I found it quite insightful and interesting. It doesn't make me a believer but it's important to keep an open mind and to consider all things.
LOVE that you can hear a different idea without getting ticked off. It's a great sign of intellectual and emotional maturity. Your atheism does not piss me off either and we can calmly chat and play nice 👊
I read too much sometimes. This is the best I’ve ever found. One Universal Creator Being Truth is His Name Creative being personified, no fear no hatred Image of the undying, beyond birth, self existent By the Gurus Grace True in the primal beginning. True throughout the ages True here and now Nanak says it will be true forever. This is the Mul Mantra from Japji Sahib in Sikh scripture. I liked the description of what in Christianity calls the Father. I suggest the entirety of Japji is really worth a read. Quite the eye opener. Also, the Sikhs were warriors, wrote poetry. Christ is an enlightened being for them also.
scottpewpew Truthfully Scott, God is already working on bringing you into the fold. Your very enlightening attitude shows you are a great person. I’m not trying to push Christianity down your throat. Personally I was a evil person until I got saved, I have seen and done things I never thought I could get forgiveness for but the whole time I just needed to admit my sins to God. Christ died on the cross to pay my sin Debt. My wish for you is that you stay open minded to the idea of that. Thanks for your time, and remember we are only human and we all sin everyday.
If you want to listen to anyone on TH-cam that will really cause you to examine your belief system whether it’s Christian or Atheism; Watch any 5 (or hopefully more) Ravi Zacharias debates or conferences.
Then you've never heard any counter arguments. It falls apart in the first premise. It's just a rudimentary cosmological argument and all of them have been debunked a million times. If you want to keep your faith, don't look into it. If your love of truth is stronger than your love of god however, do. Tough choice I know and you probably think they're one and the same. I chose truth so until actual evidence for god is presented I'll remain in the non believer camp.
@@TheTurinturumbar Cornelius Van til said the proof that the Bible is true is that if the Bible was not true you couldn’t know anything at all. I understand you have done a little bit of study but nowhere near enough I would be happy to help you understand biblical philosophy.
Pay attention to the title folks and understand the video scope. Im tackling ‘who God is’ and not THAT God is. It’s a video aimed at deists and theists and not atheists (though I’m happy for any listening in). For something for the atheists, I made 2 videos entitle God and Gunfighting. David LaRue same question. How can you believe in Christianity but not God? Christianity is a follower of Christ (it’s in the name). Christ IS God. What are the things that give you a hesitancy to believe in God? (Honest question)
"What is worth LIVING for?"..... and, "What is worth FIGHTING for?" .... and "What is worth DYING for?".... If you don't have these answers, at the ready, then you may not really be prepared to take up arms.
Amen Brother. As a fellow Infantryman I'm glad that a fellow Grunt with your standing and caliber talks about this. A lot of people dont realize that a lot if us are God Fearing individuals with a drive to be good honest Christians.
“What kind of king makes Himself nothing for His people? The Mighty one. What kind of king lets His people humiliate and beat Him until He is unrecognizable and is still able to hold His head high? And because He has done this for us I will make my life a living sacrifice unto Him.” His name is above all others His name is JESUS!

Nothing but respect for you, John. In this cancel culture environment you're shamelessly standing up for what you believe and getting people thinking. Love it!
John Lovell thank YOU for standing up for Jesus..................He did for you, I and EVERY Christian that has called Him Lord and Savior. "Faith is believing in the promises of God and acting on them." That strong statement was made many years ago by one my very best friends in life, Rev. Hugh Harbort. He is our retired Pastor at our church. He served as our Pastor, not preacher there is a BIG difference, for 37-1/2 years. "Truth is hate to those that hate the truth." I read this quote years ago and use it in the closing of my emails along with 2 Chronicles 7:14. I am 67-1/2 years young, I have been a Christian for 54-1/2 years. Jesus is the ONLY way to the Heaven of the Holy Bible plus on the other side of that coin there is only one other eternal destination...................eternity in Hell. Keep up the great videos plus within your work and you sphere of influence stand for Jesus, for again He stood for us, for He was the ultimate "Warrior Poet"! One more thing thank you for your service to this The Greatest Nation On Earth, by the Grace Of God. I am a sixth generation Georgian.

Another atheist here! I must say, atheist conversations get really old, really fast. Many will disregard a believer's thoughts, insights, and even feelings, based on nothing other than their belief in God. But there's so much more content in what I believe is "literally the most important question" (words I have used many times in my life regarding this topic, verbatim!). I'm not sure I can even quantify how much I appreciate that the conversation is willing to be had by people I admire and respect. So thank you for having the courage to speak with us about this. I wish more people in my life had taken it as seriously.
I am more of an agnostic. I don't believe in God but am more than willing to accept a surprise when I die. I think if there is a God he/she/it is not like how we imagine it as a dude in the sky shaking his head at you as you "tickle your pickle" alone in your room. I respect the good that religion does though and if it is a source of comfort and strength in your life I am happy for you.

I believe total commitment to truth, no matter where it leads you, will lead you to Christ. The reason I believe that is because I see a lot of atheists who have been turned off God by his "so called" followers usually end up finding God again when they are brutally honest with themselves and others. I'm a Christian and I get why so many have turned from Christ. The virtue signaling of Christians and the endless theological debates and bible lawyering can turn anyone off. Fortunately it's not about men. It's about what is good beautiful and true. It's like the laughter of a child. It's just perfect when you see it and cannot be put into words.

"I want to resist the spirit of the age that say's 'Hey, don't talk about money, politics, religion'"... I couldn't agree more, John. Many of times I have heard the same thing. I believe that because these important topics to converse about have been suppressed, we now have this society that does not know how to handle feelings, or thoughts on some of the most influential factors in our lives. Prime example is us millennials (and I cringe admitting I am in that group lol). Love the videos, keep em coming!
People who do not truly have God in their hearts follow their politics as their social religion. Almost no one wants to think they have been wrong or miss lead in what they think and believe in. Those two sentences can cause a lot of social problems with people. I have provoke a lot of arguments cause of it. Such as some Christian churches teaches that if other churches that don't follow their dogma are not true believers and are going to hell cause of that. Or the concept of the Chosen People.... Sadly too many follow politics as a cult of personality or a give party without looking really at the policy being promoted.
Man, this was so refreshing to watch. Thank you for being a man who is proud of being a Christian. Like you mentioned, in our current times it feels as if everyone is so afraid of not seeming cool, or not wanting to be offensive to mainstream society. A good example for myself, is that every Christmas, ever since I was little, I would just say Merry Christmas, and I wouldn't think twice about it, because what else would I say (I grew up in a Christian Family). Now that I've worked in a lot of corporate environments for several years, and kinda became conditioned to act "politically correct" and agreeable, this last Christmas, I caught myself trying to say weird stuff like "Happy Holidays" instead. I thought to myself "well, I wonder if anyone actually cares? does it matter at all? After some thought, I decided, "screw your happy holidays, Jesus is the reason for the Season in the first place, if someone wants to feel offended, then too bad." I was so worried about everyone else's feelings and beliefs, that I started to forget my own. So, glad to see other people out there who can be a Christian not only through faith, but also by using some amounts of logic too, and then be brave enough to post what they believe on TH-cam, knowing there could be consequences (subscriber loss, financial loss). God bless, and nuff respect John!
I've never said happy holidays or any other crap like that, always merry Christmas, and that puts the decision on the other person, they can either say thank you and say it back or tell me they don't celebrate Christmas, to which I would say well whatever holiday you celebrate, I hope it is great! If someone gets angry, just kill them with kindness....I've had someone get so angry at me because they were being so rude and disrespectful and all I did was smile and say have a great day, to which they replied "how dare you say have a great day!" Lmao, what are they going to do, complain to corporate that I was being too nice?

As a person who grew up Christian then steered a hard 180° toward Atheism in my early teenage years and now tends to identify as Agnostic this was the most compelling argument and conversation with reason I've ever heard a Christian or person of faith make and I absolutely took something from this. He wasn't completely hardcore about anything and left the questions as compelling questions rather than set in stone answers that he's just repeating, it especially helped with the way he shot the video and how I could look him directly in the eyes the whole time and see if there's any sense of "brainwashing" for lack of a better term that I see in some other people of faith. I could tell that he's thought about this and has come to a conclusion whether that's by starting off neutral or by unconsciously finding pieces that already fit the narrative the point is that he's looked at various different angles and has taken them into account. This was a great video
Hey Brad, there's a really cool little book I found a while ago written by a guy named J.C. Ryle from the late 1800s. The book is called "Thoughts for Young Men" although it's perfectly suited for older men as well and even women. It's only about 80 pages but talks very pointedly about self discipline and the struggles men deal with but from a biblical perspective. It's really really thorough and a great guide for first time readers of the Bible. Not sure why it came to mind now, but I just thought I'd mention it. I found a republished version on Amazon for just a few bucks. Ended up buying a couple more for my dad and brother too since I enjoyed it so much.
I have always said that I would rather spend my life serving God and discover one day that I was wrong than to choose not to serve Him and find out I was wrong. My theory has always been, that I have so much more to gain by serving my Lord and Savior. How do you put a price tag on the kingdom of Heaven?
That is the beauty of free will. Just like with small children and Santa Claus. I dont rely on seeing is believing but rather believing is seeing. My faith in Him allows me to lay eyes on the prize. Again, if I'm wrong, then I dont want to be right.
Yeah, that’s how I feel about Santa Claus!! As long as I believe, I will keep getting presents under my tree. His reindeer still eat the carrots I leave for them, so I know the fat man exists.
“Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him."” John 14:6-7
Lee L The premise that people today need the biblical way, truth and life is false. The context of Jesus being the way was limited to old covenant Israelites in the days leading up to the end of the old covenant religious system and temple community. Only old covenant Israelites were lost and needed Jesus to be the way. Only old covenant Israelites needed the truth to set them free from the curse of the law. And only Israelites were dead under the law and needed life through Christ’s new covenant. Instead of reading ourselves into scriptures limited to a first century Israelite context, we can choose to find our own way in life. We can discover our own truths and we can lead productive, fulfilling and meaningful lives without religious delusions.
@John Jesus of Nazareth couldn't have existed; Nazareth wasn't established until centuries after "Jesus" was allegedly crucified. The only settlements _within miles_ of where Nazareth would eventually be were small hamlets, where everyone would have been related to or personally known him. So these relatives and friends, in a hamlet too small to even have a temple, decided to throw a guy they knew from a mountain in a region with no mountain or cliff to throw him from...riiiight. Josephus' brief mentions of a cult and its leader support that and nothing more. By your nonsensical "reasoning", magic, wizards, and water spirits are real too because "king Arthur" actually existed.
I know for a fact that God exists. I’ve had some questionable happenings in my life and the only explanation is that God was with me. I feel very blessed.

Interesting video. Basic idea and logic fits into the idea of God in the three Abrahamic religions. Enjoyed this even as a Muslim although there are certainly point of debate here. To clarify, I don’t believe the Islamic opinion is that Jesus was the second highest prophet. Rather, the highest prophets include Jesus, Moses, Abraham, Noah, Joseph (Yusuf) and Muhammad. Also, Islam says that the Bible, the Torah, and other messages were all pieces of the puzzle, and that the Quran was the final book that covered all of that and more, and also established a way to prevent changing of the Quran through oral memorization.
Gospel of Matthew “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
This is my favorite scripture. Look at the next line: "Upon these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." All the rest of the Bible, all the rest of Jesus' life, all of history, all the rest of our lives, all of good and evil, unpacks from following them, or ignoring them.
Matthew didn't record Jesus's full statement, but Luke did. The first half of the greatest commandment is "Hear O Israel, the Lord your God, the Lord is One." You can't have love without defining love. Thus the first half of the commandment defines love, and sets the way in which we ought to see God in all these things. As One.
Love the statement (slight paraphrase): "If you live with a higher purpose you're one of us." - This makes ALL the difference. With too much conflict based upon one religion or another having some kind of superiority, that message to often gets lost. There is a "Brotherhood of Mankind" that transcends all religions, borders and races. Those living with and for a higher purpose will always prevail. Faith in the goodness of men combined with the might of good men will always triumph over those who wish to do ill, to oppress or prey upon the weak.
@@aquilatempestate9527 I don't see the correlation of each in this context. While family hierarchy is important, the millions of young men (and women) who have united to fight wars often had no other family but fought for all of mankind's future. Many fill this calling before they start a family and many learn to be better family leaders as a result... But it's far from nonsense.
The highest purpose is the evolution of the species in a rational manner. If you realize how scarry it is to atheists that the only reason you don't rape little girls and kill innocents is because of a fear of a god sending you to hell. I don't need a fear of hell to know that is all jacked up brother. Scary that it takes a book telling you that to get it.
There was a time when the curious would sit over a beer and have a deep discussion regarding the purpose and meaning of all what we experience. ie: C.S. Lewis and G.K Chesterton. @Randall Swanson I can certainly agree, the world is a complex and incredible place. I do indeed believe in evolution, however, I don't pretend to believe that it explains everything about our natural world. Much like no religion, christianity included, can explain certain things. Like dinosaurs, for example.
Thank you for being unique in that you don't make disparaging remarks about those of us who believe. Most atheists, and many believers for that matter, are so quick to attack that walls are up before objective conversation can even begin.
@@andrewmabry8995 I grew up in church. Went to private Christian school. Have parents and other family members who believe. Just not for me. Agree to disagree with them.
I appreciate your attitude towards "those who believe" but I would challenge you to take a look at the Bible. This book was written by dozens of people over thousands of years and from the beginning to the end it has the same massage. Two historians can't agree on something that happened in the past yet for some reason the bible remains unified to the core. It's definitely no work of man. If you are right and there's no God then you don't have anything to worry about but if God's word is right you will defiantly have a problem.
Good On You! Tough guys talk about tough issues. 👍 The certainty in what you cannot see is a topic in and of itself. I think that touches upon this topic but could be an addition valuable discussion.
I’m going to start at the 2:30 mark, and to preface this I just want to say I like what you do as a channel and you seem like a cool guy. I don’t mean anything said here to be harsh or have a harsh tone. 2:30 to 3:00 - “I want to logically deduce “who is god’, using just reason alone. And that's the ambition that we’re going for. I’m going to have to make a few generalizations, but hopefully we will be able to see the forest through the trees so we’re not going to be super up close on any detail. Any one point, if pressed, I could even turn around and argue against it. That’s just good critical thought, and I’m super excited about airtight logic and reason these are the things that were going to be using cause were not just poets, but let's be scientists as well. Well trained minds and all that jazz.” After watching this video I believe there was no airtight logic, reason, or science. I say this sincerely and with concern as someone with degrees in biology, psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, and education. I’m not concerned with your conclusion but more how you got there. I worry about the message you send to people when you talk like this. Which is not me saying I think you should stop, these types of videos are often my favorite, and I would prefer they never stop. 3:00 “So first off we start with the idea that there is some God” So no we don’t. We never start with the acceptance of a belief if we are just using logic/reason. I actually think you know that because you give support for your belief in the next sentence. So I’m not trying to explain that to you but it's an important point to make going forward. “We know that because the universe isn’t going to create itself, there is everything. It didn’t just all make itself, the universe would have to already exist to cause itself. So this is the idea that an ex-nihilo creation isn’t possible without intervention. And this is just fallacious. It’s using the logic of stuff on non-stuff. We have no idea of the properties of nothingness or if nothingness even has properties. So there is no evidence that indicates the universe couldn’t create itself ex-nihilo, that matter and energy couldn’t come into existence from nothing (in fact there is some very “meh” evidence to support it) and there is no strong proof against an eternal universe. I know you don’t believe these things to be true but they are. I would encourage you to look into these things with the scientific mindset of proving your current beliefs to be false and see if anything changes. “If there is a creation there must be a creator if there is a design there must be a designer if there is moral law there must be a moral law giver.” While I agree with all of these statements for the most part they are all tautological. They are true by definition and are therefore meaningless. What’s in question here is if there IS creation, design, and moral law. I would submit there is no evidence to suggest there is. 3:25 “This god, I believe, would have imbued us with a conscience, everyone has this internal concept of right vs wrong (and all of us know that we have not lived up to that standard of right and wrong). And so since we all have that internal mechanism, that “hey you should do the right thing” kind of thing, a conscience. I believe that that is something that god would have given us and instilled in us. That’s not a big hard leap to make.” So 2 points I want to make here. First I would agree that there is in fact no hard leap to make IF you already accept that the christian god is real and he created humans. It says as much in the bible; he wrote it on your heart. If not your job then becomes the following 1) prove all humans have a universal internal concept of right vs wrong. 2) prove a god exists. Then depending on the god support that that god imbued us with that concept (the christian god has it built in). The second point I want to make, which I already alluded to, is that it's not so clear that everyone DOES have some internal concept of right vs wrong. And if they do it's certainly not universal or wholly conserved person to person. I say universal only to mean we’re all playing by the same rule book. Which we clearly are not. Now obviously something is going on with us where we have feeling of mistreatment and happiness etc, but if we are going to be scientific about this, if we are going to be logical and use reason we have to take this a lot slower. 3:55 - “Furthermore we’re communicators, right, even animals communicate. So I would expect that god, the author and creator of everything. Who created communication would also be able to communicate and again I don’t that’s a far reach.” So again I agree we humans, and animals, communicate. And I certainly would also expect the creator of everything to have the ability to communicate, if not to the creation directly then at least in some general sense. Though it's not logically necessary. But honestly I’m not sure what point you were trying to make with this one I assume it will come later. 4:13 - “Also I notice meticulous design, and all these symbiotic systems work together. And look whether it's in biology, down to the atom, and all these things working together in perfect harmony. Our bodies, our systems of systems. And even cosmologically, you look out in the solar system, I mean 1 degree difference of the earth and we’d all burn up or freeze to death. The world, the universe, our bodies, all of our ecosystems are meticulously designed.” So at this now we are entering the point of the video which prompted me to respond, so naturally this is where we REALLY disagree. The fact of the matter is that you infer design without a good reason. And the reasons for that inference given here are not correct. These things do not work together in perfect harmony, there is more chaos than order in most of these things. 1 degree of anything regarding the earth would NOT result in the catastrophes mentioned. And even if that were the case (it is as a matter fact not) it would not suggest design. My favorite analogy for this is the rain puddle that marvels at how meticulously designed he is for the home it was born into. But the bigger point here is that EITHER WAY it does not support “design”. Bad designs exist, in fact one might argue they are the most numerous type of design. So flawless or flawed or anywhere on the scale one cannot logically deduce that it was designed. And if someone points out a flaw in the “design” a contestor needs only argue “well that’s part of the design” making this idea unfalsifiable. So it’s not deduction, it is not logical, and it’s unfalsifiable which makes it not scientific. I’m not going to do the rest of the video as deeply, simply because I want to live my life and I’ve already written 3 pages haha but I did watch it and I want to hit on a few points The god that creates the cosmos and wants to communicate in book form can do so in direct form. If the ad-men could beam messages into your head they would. The idea that you would expect a book is silly. For most of human history judeo-christian religion didn’t exist, and you are ignoring all other religions before that time and all the contemporary ones that don’t have a clear connection to Jesus or the bible. Many existed longer than all the religions you mention and still do. As such this is just plain data picking which makes it not a “big deal”… it makes it fraud almost… I mean if I did anything like this I would have been kicked out of my capstone studies. And I don’t think you mean to do this but it shows your mindset when thinking about this stuff so I would just reflect on that. We don’t know if people have more books written about Jesus than any other man… and I think its very arguably that he is not the most important man in history. You offered a false dichotomy at one point of either Jesus was divine or just a guy when it's entirely possible this person never actually existed. I 100% agree with your view of truth, I would never unsubscribe, I’m glad you talk about this kind of stuff I agree this is the most important and interesting stuff. Keep it up! P.S. its 2am and Im suuuuper not gonna grammar check this please be forgiving in that regard haha
"If there is a creation there must be a creator if there is a design there must be a designer if there is moral law there must be a moral law giver.” Ok, if god exists, who created him?
@@why6212 It's difficult to comprehend the infinite with a finite mind. Perhaps it's possible for things to have existed always and to continue always existing. we're barely starting to understand the universe. We have no clue what the greater cosmos consists of. Maybe God is there. I don't think you can use logic to prove God exists. But I also know you can't prove he doesn't exist. Personally, I have found evidence for the existence of God. Can it be proven? Not empirically. You raise valid points. John's arguments are not without flaws. But neither are yours. The world is round but some people think it's flat. So, maybe it will never be possible to prove or disprove God. What matters is that we try to treat each other well. Thank you for your comments!
@@dankuchar6821 sure, however we have a common usage for "existing". You don't have a valid claim that something exists unless you can prove it... empirically. Additionally, if it's difficult to comprehend the infinite with a finite mind, how can you even claim to have had a subjective experience of a god? You may not have even understood what that experience was.
@@why6212 So something doesn't exist until it can be proven? That's silly. My degrees are in physics and mathematics. I know lots of things that exist that nobody knew they existed a long time ago. But they have always existed. And they existed before they were proven it empirically. I'm not trying to prove the existence of God. You can't do that scientifically. but that doesn't mean he does not exist. In fact it's impossible to prove a negative. I think the world is round because of the evidence that supports that hypothesis. There are people that think the world is flat. I think they're crazy. If I think God exists because of certain evidences, there are people that will think I'm crazy.

Christianity and other popular religions are just a tad bit sketchy for me and ive recently landed on the fence after being raised Baptist. However, i strongly disagree about the "one true religion" idea. You can't say that only Christian's will be saved and all others condemned. There are millions who have never even been exposed to Christianity, so how could they even follow and believe in someone whom they have never heard of. "Does God exist?" is a very important question, but the MOST important question is: "If you die today, are you 100% sure you will be in Heaven??" If your reading this and aren't sure, you're not alone. Most people haven't thought about it much, or maybe aren't quite 100%, or even might say "I hope so" or "I'm trying", but the fact is, the Bible tells us we can know 100% for certain that we will be going to Heaven when we die. The Bible says it's as easy as receiving a free gift, taking a drink of water, or walking through a door. Most people think you have to be a religious person, or make Jesus the Lord of your life and follow Him, or turn or repent from your sins, or be baptized, or join a church to be saved. Even others might say living a good life, or doing God's commandments, will get you to Heaven. Still others might say they are sure they would go to Heaven today, but that if they commit some big sin in the future they might lose salvation if they don't ask for forgiveness or turn from that sin. But actually it's MUCH easier than that. If you're trusting any of those things to get into Heaven, then it's a works based salvation, and the Bible is VERY CLEAR that being saved from Hell, and going to Heaven is NOT OF WORKS! Please check out this video from my Pastor explaining just how simple it is to know you are on your way to Heaven. th-cam.com/video/F8owXQ2QyvA/w-d-xo.html There are many commandments and laws in the Bible for us today, and while God wants us to follow all of them, and even expects us to follow them, NONE of them are required to get us into Heaven. The ONLY thing that you need to do to get into Heaven is to put all your trust/faith/belief in the right thing. Just believing that God/Jesus is real and exists is not what it takes, but putting your trust off yourself and your good works, and submitting to the righteousness of God by realizing there's nothing we can do to get ourselves to Heaven and that we simply have to accept the free gift of un-ending life that Christ paid for on the cross. It is believing ON the Son - Putting your faith on what he did 100%, not on you're good works AND Jesus. No - its either 100% what Jesus did, or Jesus will let us pay for our sins 100% by going to Hell. Romans 6:23 KJV "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" - Bible says we're all sinners that deserve Hell - Hell is the only way we can pay for our sins ourselves. God doesn't want us to go to Hell, so he sent is Son Jesus to pay for our sins himself. Acts 16:30-31 KJV "And brought them out and said Sirs, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED? And they said Believe ON the Lord Jesus Christ and thou SHALT BE SAVED, and thy house." - Just by putting our trust on what Christ did on the cross, knowing that God himself paid for our sins by suffering death on the cross, going to hell for 3 days and 3 nights, and resurrecting from the grave. Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV "For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT OF GOD. NOT OF WORKS lest any man should boast." - We're saved by our belief, not our good works or good deeds. God paid for the gift, but its up to us to accept it or not.
Trevor Nutcher Actually, an even MORE important question is, “Why would you waste your time with one heaven belief over another?” Why do you get to assume a heaven exists?
No I won’t and no one will go to heaven. At least no one knows. No one has any reason to believe in any form of heaven since no one has been able to demonstrate anything like a heaven or hell concept to exist in the real world ( what I mean is the entire universe including the bits humans can’t see with their eyes ) I won’t go to heaven neither will anyone. That’s okay you get one life do with it as much as you can, help as many people as you can. If you need a god, heaven or hell, or any religion to act morally towards your fellow humans you probably aren’t a very moral person.
dawes1611kjv no it’s not, depends on how you interpret the New Testament. Since the Old Testament didn’t really have a heaven since ancient jews didn’t really have a heaven or hell concept. Also why the fuck should anyone care what the Bible has to say about anything since it’s so wrong about most things.
@KamekoBruns agreed. the christian god doesnt seem like the type of person I would want to worship and be around anyway. its okay though christians get to pick and choose what they want to believe in their bible and make excuses just like all the other religions. people are just afraid of the unknown and or need a book to tell them how not to be a dick. or not. the book of leviticus has some really helpful tips on the proper way to buy and sell slaves. satan was infinitely less of a dick in the bible. the only thing he did was tempt people to tell god to get fucked.
"There were many other things that Jesus did; if all were written down, the world itself, I suppose, would not hold all the books that would have to be written." -- John 21:25
I actually sat down and placed close attention, saved it, played it again. This is one of the best videos I've seen from WPS. Left me thinking, which I believe may have been John's intention to begin with. Good stuff man.
Well done John. You asked the question; "What's worth dying for?" Jesus thinks that we are. We think our families and other innocent people are. There's a great parallel between Warrior Poets and the Lord Jesus that makes Him very relatable to us.
Hisslave1 Jesus didn’t die for anyone today. Even Jesus’ enemies knew who he would die for, and it wasn’t the entirety of humanity. Joh 11:51 He did not say this of his own accord, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, Joh 11:52 and not for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad. Who were the children of God scattered abroad? The scriptures repeatedly make the prediction that the descendants of the tribes of Israel would be scattered throughout the nations :"(e.g. Deut 4:27, 28; 30:1; Jer 30:11; Dan 9:7; Micah 5:7, 8 ) and that in the last days they would be regathered, leaving none behind :"(e.g. Isa 11:11,12; Jer 16:14,15; 23:3-8; 31:10; Ezek 11:17-19; 39:28; Zeph 3:20). No non-Israelites in view. We also see from verses like Heb 9:14-15, that Jesus died for those who sinned under the first covenant. In the first century, that was only Israelites. Heb 9:14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. Heb 9:15 Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. Verses suggesting Jesus died for the whole world (kosmos) and that he took away the sins of the world (kosmos) are referring to the covenant world of Israel, the old covenant religious system and temple community that had been under the curse of the law. Paul said in Galatians 4:5 that Jesus came to redeem those under the law. Only covenant people and later, Israelites had and were under the law. That’s not anyone today. If you believe Jesus died for you, you’ve been duped. @@Scruffers2011 Wow man, you're working mighty hard to disprove scripture and not believe that "whosoever will may come." If you choose to perish, that's your business but don't be like the pharisees and try to drag everyone else with you.
Hisslave1 words like whosoever must be understood from their proper historical context and Israelite audience relevance. Whosoever was whosoever of those Christ came for. That’s not anyone today. Jesus didn’t come for you. He came for his own people, Israel. The emphasis was always to seek the lost sheep of Israel, to gather the elect (Matt 24:31, 2 Thess 2:1) remnant from out of the nations, who were gentile descendants of the tribes of Israel. Jesus came to redeem the sheep, his people. Luk 1:68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people We are not his people. Israel was his people. (Luke 1:76-77 NKJV). And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; For you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways, To give knowledge of salvation to HIS PEOPLE By the remission of their SINS," Isa 51:16 And I have put my words in your mouth and covered you in the shadow of my hand, establishing the heavens and laying the foundations of the earth, and saying TO ZION, ‘YOU ARE MY PEOPLE.’” (Matt 2:6 NKJV) ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd MY PEOPLE ISRAEL.’” Acts 28:20... For this reason, therefore, I have asked to see you and speak with you, since it is because of the HOPE OF ISRAEL that I am wearing this chain.” Act 5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance TO ISRAEL, and forgiveness of sins. (Acts 13:23 NKJV). From this man’s seed, according to the promise, God raised up for ISRAEL a Savior-Jesus The emphasis was always Israel, not non-Israelites. Mat 1:21 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” We are not his people. Jesus himself said... Mat 15:24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house OF ISRAEL.” He told the disciples.... Mat 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of OF ISRAEL. Redemption was for those under the law. Gal 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. Which means that Jesus didn’t die for us. He died for old covenant Israelites. Jesus came to save HIS people from their sins (Matt 1:21, Acts 5:31) We are not His people. Salvation was only for Jews and gentile descendants of the tribes of Israel dispersed among the nations. Post-AD70 Christianity is a hijacked redemptive narrative that has flipped the identity of “gentiles” on its head from being the elect diaspora called out of the nations to mean anyone today who is not Jewish. It was in this way that post-70AD Greeks misappropriated bits and pieces of a redemptive narrative meant for old covenant Israel, adapted it to their Greek culture and created a Jesus cult of their own. Hisslave1 those who perished were first century descendants of the tribes of Israel. The word perished is always associated with Israelites in the days leading up to the end of the old covenant religious system and temple community, which was in the first century. Everybody dies, but nobody today perishes in the biblical sense.

The greatest nation.......do you mean Ireland 😉☘
You clever to believe in god. You a fool to believe in Jesus. What if Bible was test from the Devil?
Absolutely amazing! I'm a Christian myself, and I love how you take it seriously, but with such grace and love towards our neighbors. I love the runnin' and gunnin' training videos, but this "pause" and "30,000 ft view" is too important to pass up, and I thoroughly enjoyed it as well. God bless!
Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis made a compelling case for the existence of God for me.

I read problem of Pain. But CS Lewis was not saved. he did not keep the 10 commandments like the messiah said to do to enter life.
@Paul P opinions vary.
Get into the deep Athiest talks. Evolution, the cosmos, quantum physics for lamens. Things like that. It’s mind bending stuff and all fact based and open ended until we find all the answers. Which we won’t. Amazing we are here. Amazing what could be out there.
@@nunyabizznas9051 This is actually really surprising: th-cam.com/video/gpStPNAB7Cw/w-d-xo.html I was not expecting this from Brian Greene. I prejudged him as a one-note guy, and he has something to say about that exact prejudice, and it's really enlightening.

Friend, a godless world equates absolute meaninglessness, and the act of 'creating one's own meaning' is pretty futile, although secular sociologists will say taht's what our cultures have done...
John, as a brother Christian, we know God’s Word says Creation alone speaks of the Creator! Glad to see a deep thinking video, not just “run & gun” (though I like running and gunning, lol)!
Coudn't of said it better myself Mark.
All of creation declares God's majesty and glory(Psam 19, Roman's 1).
But we also know who God is through His special revelation which is His word... The Bible(2 Tim. 3:16)

I really appreciate this video. I’ve started reading the Bible and this makes since. Thank you.

How do you know you choose the right Lord? What if you have mistakenly put your trust in the incorrect deity?
That is the beauty of free will. Just like with small children and Santa Claus. I dont rely on seeing is believing but rather believing is seeing. My faith in Him allows me to lay eyes on the prize. Again, if I'm wrong, then I dont want to be right.

Lee L ...Amen Brother.
Amen
Who wrote the Gospel According to John?

I needed that today... Thank you. Seriously, Thank you..
Gospel of Matthew
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
@@50srefugee amen, all of the laws the Jews followed and all of the teachings the prophets delivered were summed up in these two commands.
Matthew didn't record Jesus's full statement, but Luke did.
The first half of the greatest commandment is "Hear O Israel, the Lord your God, the Lord is One."
You can't have love without defining love. Thus the first half of the commandment defines love, and sets the way in which we ought to see God in all these things. As One.
Anything else you'd like? Lol
Great video. Be who you are. Don't let sales or public opinion determine who you chose to be. Awesome.
Nonsense I'm afraid. Loose family perhaps, and a family is a hierarchy.
You're a rocker, through and through, keep on keepin' on - Joseph Dìrte
Well trained minds and all that jazz.”
After watching this video I believe there was no airtight logic, reason, or science.
3:00 “So first off we start with the idea that there is some God”
So no we don’t.
“If there is a creation there must be a creator if there is a design there must be a designer if there is moral law there must be a moral law giver.”
While I agree with all of these statements for the most part they are all tautological.
That’s not a big hard leap to make.”
So 2 points I want to make here.
Who created communication would also be able to communicate and again I don’t that’s a far reach.”
So again I agree we humans, and animals, communicate.
The world, the universe, our bodies, all of our ecosystems are meticulously designed.”
So at this now we are entering the point of the video which prompted me to respond, so naturally this is where we REALLY disagree.
I’m not going to do the rest of the video as deeply, simply because I want to live my life and I’ve already written 3 pages haha but I did watch it and I want to hit on a few points
The god that creates the cosmos and wants to communicate in book form can do so in direct form.

It's difficult to comprehend the infinite with a finite mind.
@@why6212
So something doesn't exist until it can be proven? That's silly. My degrees are in physics and mathematics. I know lots of things that exist that nobody knew they existed a long time ago. But they have always existed. And they existed before they were proven it empirically.
I'm not trying to prove the existence of God. You can't do that scientifically. but that doesn't mean he does not exist. In fact it's impossible to prove a negative.
I think the world is round because of the evidence that supports that hypothesis. There are people that think the world is flat. I think they're crazy. If I think God exists because of certain evidences, there are people that will think I'm crazy.

You got a really cool set up, sir. One would think you'd just stick to what draws the most people (guns, tactics, etc) and not gamble with upsetting your viewers. "Does God exist?" is a very important question, but the MOST important question is:
"If you die today, are you 100% sure you will be in Heaven??"
If your reading this and aren't sure, you're not alone.
Please check out this video from my Pastor explaining just how simple it is to know you are on your way to Heaven. th-cam.com/video/F8owXQ2QyvA/w-d-xo.html
There are many commandments and laws in the Bible for us today, and while God wants us to follow all of them, and even expects us to follow them, NONE of them are required to get us into Heaven.
Romans 6:23 KJV "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"
- Bible says we're all sinners that deserve Hell - Hell is the only way we can pay for our sins ourselves. God doesn't want us to go to Hell, so he sent is Son Jesus to pay for our sins himself.
Acts 16:30-31 KJV "And brought them out and said Sirs, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED? And they said Believe ON the Lord Jesus Christ and thou SHALT BE SAVED, and thy house."
- Just by putting our trust on what Christ did on the cross, knowing that God himself paid for our sins by suffering death on the cross, going to hell for 3 days and 3 nights, and resurrecting from the grave.
Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV "For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT OF GOD. NOT OF WORKS lest any man should boast."
- We're saved by our belief, not our good works or good deeds. God paid for the gift, but its up to us to accept it or not.
Trevor Nutcher Actually, an even MORE important question is, “Why would you waste your time with one heaven belief over another?”
Why do you get to assume a heaven exists?
No I won’t and no one will go to heaven. At least no one knows. No one has any reason to believe in any form of heaven since no one has been able to demonstrate anything like a heaven or hell concept to exist in the real world ( what I mean is the entire universe including the bits humans can’t see with their eyes ) I won’t go to heaven neither will anyone. That’s okay you get one life do with it as much as you can, help as many people as you can. If you need a god, heaven or hell, or any religion to act morally towards your fellow humans you probably aren’t a very moral person.
Amen!!! Salvation is clearly by FAITH ALONE. No good works or repenting of your sin will get you into heaven.
dawes1611kjv no it’s not, depends on how you interpret the New Testament.
Either there is a God or there isn't, both scenarios are terrifying.

Joh 11:51 He did not say this of his own accord, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation,
Joh 11:52 and not for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.

Luk 1:68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people
We are not his people. Israel was his people.
(Luke 1:76-77 NKJV). And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; For you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways, To give knowledge of salvation to HIS PEOPLE By the remission of their SINS,"
Isa 51:16 And I have put my words in your mouth and covered you in the shadow of my hand, establishing the heavens and laying the foundations of the earth, and saying TO ZION, ‘YOU ARE MY PEOPLE.’”
(Matt 2:6 NKJV) ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd MY PEOPLE ISRAEL.’”
Acts 28:20... For this reason, therefore, I have asked to see you and speak with you, since it is because of the HOPE OF ISRAEL that I am wearing this chain.”
Act 5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance TO ISRAEL, and forgiveness of sins.
(Acts 13:23 NKJV). From this man’s seed, according to the promise, God raised up for ISRAEL a Savior-Jesus
The emphasis was always Israel, not non-Israelites.
Mat 1:21 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
We are not his people. Jesus himself said...
Mat 15:24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house OF ISRAEL.”
He told the disciples....
