If you refer to the huge shop I was in, it wasn't mine. A friend of mine used to have a fiberglass shop. He has sold the company and retired unfortunately. My shop is small... very small... but it works. :)
Thank you! I built this model 5 years ago now. By hand, sculpting it pretty much... Today I use CAD, and 3D print my plugs. It's fun to use different techniques sometimes. Thanks, Lars
you can do this. and yes it does look hard. BUT if you got a table and a Coping saw, an Exacto knife. and sandpaper. you can build this. Look up my video of Abracadabra. you can see a step-by-step video. I am building True North. the same way. you can do this. the only hard part is the sails. If you need help. just ask
Hello Lloyd, It is Courageous (but I call it outrageous...). I have a plan to build Australia II in scale 1:10, and also Liberty. I want to build a lot of them. :) Thanks for watching and supporting! //Lars
@@LarsLindqvist you should not call is Outrageous.. it maybe is the most successful 12 meters ever. it raced in . she defended the cup in 1974 AND 1977. people say it was faster than freedom in 1980. she also should have been sailed in 1983 AND might have won. but for 1987. she was too old to be competitive. but was down there fighting for a spot.. so think about it. 4 cup challenges. i would say it was pretty good
The blade on the rear edge of the keel is a trim tab, used to help balance the boat under various wind conditions. 12 metre racing yachts have had trim tabs for a long time.
Hello Brilliant job, i'm trying to do something similar but i have a question What material did you apply over the styrofoam (0:12) to give a better finish to the mold?
Thanks, and veryy very sorry for late reply. I used regular dry wall putty. Cheap stuff. Once I was near what I wanted, I added fiberglass, and then switched to bondo filler. Once again, very sory for late reply. //Lars
Tack Erik, jag försöker göra bättre och bättre. Nya bygget är Australia II i skala 1:10. Har precis varit ute och lagt första lagret med sprutspackel på pluggen. Mvh Lasse
@@LarsLindqvist I think it's called a plan. The one that I get glue to pieces of wood carve it out and then make a scale model of a sailboat... I'm not sure if the lingo. I'm totally new to this
Simply superb.
Great craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Best of it`s kind.👍👍👍
Thank you! I try to improve on every new boat I build. I have taken up sailmaking too, and try to improve my sails as well. Thanks, Lars
A great video
Thank you! I plan a scale 1:10 Courageous in the future. I have a few others to build before. 😊
Wonderful build, a credit to your workmanship.
Thank you!
Gosh, you have such a nice big workshop...you could have built one several times that large!

Looks like an 'A' class boat
I might be able to measure it as an A class. Sorry for very late reply. I missed your comment. Cheers, Lars
Looks beautiful…..

@@cosmiccolonel It's on my bucket list too. I would also like to build a 2.4mR some day. It's fun to have dreams! Thanks, Lars
... And here I have been, these past few weeks, investigating kits and pre-made scale models....
I could theoretically do this!
Yes, you can! If I can do it, you can do it!

Sorry, I can't believe I missed this comment too. I wish I could call you and apologize. //Lars
damn

デザイン的にS&Sみたいだなぁ。前に作ってた(ちょっと映ってる)のは「Australia II」だったから、対抗馬としたら「Liberty」ってなことになるのかな?
2 rudders? 1 below the stern and 1 behind the keel? I've never seen such.

Superb. Is there any chance of buying one of your hulls from this mould, please?
Yes, it should be. I just have a problem that I don't have a lead mold for it yet.
Hej Lars !
Fina båtar du bygger

Do you mean drawing? Thanks, Lars
