There may be faster yachts, but there is no other yacht design which compares with the grace and magnificence of the J class in life size or scale model. Lovely work.
Looking simply stunning!! :) Very nice craftsmanship. Are there also some IOM class sailboats there as they are also amazing boats and it seems like this pond would be amazing for this kind of activity?
Hi Brandon, Great question! Options for both are available. This boat was built from scratch using plans from the original boat that was built in the 1930's, but at a reduced scale. th-cam.com/video/i0luxQcGC6M/w-d-xo.html Copies of J class sailboats can be found at maritime museum's. Or there's a laser cut frame kit option which will save a lot of time. modellers-workshop.com/category/laser-cut-frames/
@@crownvalleytrans Its to bad your in CA. I have teak planked SB that won awards at model shows. Hull #967 with Black sails that I haven't put in the water since 1985. Its on display in my house eversince.
It looks like a much older construction. The first video shows the refinishing of the model. It would be nice to see the construction from the frames onward. I do not see a design for Weetamoe among the drawings I have collected over the years.
Sorry, my channel is a little convoluted. You are correct in that it is a older build. Here's the construction video you were inquiring about. th-cam.com/video/i0luxQcGC6M/w-d-xo.html

@crownvalleytrans Hi , Where do you sail this J these days ? I would love to see it sail in person. I sail at Mason Lake , Irvine . Thanks Minoo.
Hi, Unfortunately my RC hobbies have been put on hold due to a forced relocation of my business, but I'll be back sailing soon.
@@crownvalleytrans Wishing you fair weather and hope to see you sailing again in Mason Park. Really enjoyed seeing your boat sail. Thanks
Is this a kit, or can I buy instructions to build this?

Do they allow other RC boats on the lake?
Unfortunately not. That's how I ended up running sailboats. I do miss my gas and nitro hair-raising go fast boats!
Really nice sailing boat! Do you have an additional keel?
Hi Graf, view th-cam.com/video/xxbfY7p_YMU/w-d-xo.html and see that the hull and keel are one. It has removable lead weight for ballast.
Espetaculo
I love real J's This one too. What do you think of the Santa Barbara S/B ?
I haven't been able to get my hands on a Santa Barbara yet, but looks like a fun boat to sail and more manageable than a J

@@crownvalleytrans So a completely scratch build then? No digital files? Nicely done!
