Everyone's saying they wouldn't fight because Yu wouldn't insult Josuke's hair. All while overlooking the simple solution.

Imagine this:
A small rural Japanese town. It feels so disconnected from the rest of the world, but so intimate and homely. However, the town houses a serial killer. The young Japanese man with a pompadour(?) is walking down a street corner, thinking about how to solve this case. In his trance, he accidentally bumps into a little preschool girl. The young man apologizes, offering to help the girl up. She smiles, accepting the help and thanks him.
"Nanako-chan!" A group of more teenagers come running in, seemingly to the aid of the little girl. They seem overprotective of her.
After the group exchanged thanks, some of the kids in the group notice the extravagant hairstyle, calling over the top, and one of the girls even called it excessive. The young man suddenly snaps, entering a literally blinding rage and is about to make an aggressive move on the group, but he is stopped. The young man looks up and finds one of the boys from the group, an empty look in his eyes.
"Guys, take Nanako home." He sounds steady and calm, clearly harboring unfriendly feelings. "Tell uncle I'll be with there in a little."
"No way, man!" The boy with headphones tries to convince his best partner, but his efforts were in vain.
"Yeah, senpai! Besides, we can take this guy!" The tallest, muscular member of the group seems ready to jump into battle.
"Do it!"
"Ok, big bro. Don't take too long." The girl's voice is a little shaky; she's clearly worried about the boy she was with, and runs down the street until she is unseen, the other teenagers following her.
"Who are you?" The first man is collecting himself, seeing that he may have to fight his way out.
The second man does not answer, merely unsheathing away a katana he was carrying and throws away the sheath. The boy with the pompadour quickly combs his hair, and prepares for battle.

Most of this I can kinda see, except that I don't think Josuke attacking Nanako really would be in character for him to do, yes he does get pissed off when someone makes fun of his hair, but because it's a kid, I would assume Josuke wouldn't get physically aggressive with them- And if anyone mentions Shigechi, he's a completely different story, and only like, 2 years younger when compared to a kid in first grade

@@ender64yeahthatguy Also, the fact that they have an on-and-off switch for their anger. For Yu, it is his little cousin whom he treats as a little sister, so much so that he developed a sister complex. For Josuke, it's his hair.
SPOILERS AHEAD
Nanako-chan (Yu's cousin) is always shown to be pure hearted, a genuine child. However, she struggles with accepting and understanding the death of her mother and the impact it had on her father. Nanako-chan was also nearly killed because of a man whom was mistaken as the lead culprit of a serial murder case. Yu was shown to have a poor connection with his parents, who were always working and seemingly neglected giving him attention. At one point, they had to work overseas so they left him in the care if his uncle, and he grew close to his cousin. Yu, having grown attached to his cousin, goes from being mild mannered to uncaring when his "sister" is threatened and enraged when she's hurt.
When Josuke was 4, his bloodline was cursed by a vampire who was the sworn enemy of his great-grandfather from 100 years ago. He developed a fever and his mother tried to get him to a hospital. However, the town that they lived in was still developing, and it was experiencing one of its worst blizzards. Their car got stuck in the snow and the mother, Tomoko, feared the worst until a young man in a high school uniform with a pompadour approached them. He mentioned the boy, seeing that he was sick and helped without asking by laying his coat in front of one of the back tires, successfully helping the two. After the snowstorm, Tomoko asked around for the young man, but no one knew whom she was asking about. Little Josuke saw only the man's extravagant hair, and unable to say thanks to him, he honors him by keeping his hair in the same way the man who saved him did. He takes any insult upon his hair as an insult upon the man who saved him. He goes into a literal blinding rage and pummels whomever insulted his hair to near death.
