THANK YOU! Great Troubleshooting job. Good instructor too. I have a 96 Jeep Cherokee that will not go into any gear and move. It will shift out of park to R to N, D to 1-2 but no movement. I have a troubleshooting light and may just try to trace the TCM signal like you did here. Just to make sure I am getting the voltage. I have never used the trouble light but there is a first time for everything! Especially when you made it so clear.
Diodes can overheat and blow just like a fuse, which is probably why the are placed in a way that allows easy replacement. Unfortunately the little knob on the side didn't prevent if from being replaced backwards. I rarely find occasion to use the diode testing tab on my multimeter, but testing a diode is very easy, and you can even assess forward voltage drop. Excellent case study!
@@liviu2004 Yes, Zener diodes in particular have a breakdown voltage which makes them useful for overvoltage protection. If reverse voltage spikes too high, the diode allows a path to ground, which protects other more sensitive devices in the circuit from overvoltage. Like a fuse, it is hopefully positioned to fail at a spot that is hopefully easy to repair.
Also, one can use a LOW VOLTAGE ohmmeter to test the diode. It will show higher resistance when polarity is applied backwards. I capitalized the low voltage wording to prevent someone from frying an otherwise good diode while testing.
Everytime I see your videos I just say to myself that guy's good. When you love what you do its all easy. You fixed my F150 about three weeks ago and I knew then you were the man. Keep making those videos and remember people gonna hate you cause they ain't you. God bless

He testeado los fusibles y parecen tener conexión pero revisaré les relays y todo a mayor profundidad esperando resolver el problema. Muchas gracias por este gran video ha informado de mucho!
First of all. Your instruction was simple and amazing. You showed visual papers, steps with instruction etc. I need to check my TCM Relay for shifting issues. I notice a pattern with car of fuse and sensory blown out. I will check this out before anything else.
Thank you bro! I wasn’t getting any power to the 15a with the test light, went over to the relay and there wasn’t a black cover over it, so i changed the fuse and relay everything went back to normal nomore limp mode. I really appreciate you bro!
Hey man do you happen to be Dodge Charger owner? And we’re your fuses bad or not put in properly? I’m going through the limp mode thing. Car has been down 2 weeks and I miss my v8 😞
Helped a lot had same issues on same year and model with a new motor to and but mine was the wire under the 15 amp fuse in the box that was not making contact but your video took me to the area of the problem. Thanks for taking the time to do video
