This video tries to answer a hypothetical question. If it was Poland, instead of Ukraine, invaded on February 24th, how would it fare? Assuming NATO is involved only as much as it got involved in Ukraine, how would that war go?

By making a fantasy video about the war in Ukraine, which is ongoing, you are affectively profiting off of the death of innocent civilians.
The only reason this video is relevant, the only reason you made it now is because of an ongoing war in Ukraine where Ukrainians are being slaughtered. That’s the only reason people are going to click on it like they are, that’s why I’m accusing you of being a war profiteer. Take this video down, and re-post it after the war
Take this video down, and repost it after the Russians are done slaughtering Ukrainians. After we have actually defeated them. Once the war is actually over. Stop acting like this is a f***ing video game, real people are dying right now

This scenario is inherently flawed, because it disregards logistics. Russian logistics in Ukraine are very bad, and that's with them having access to Ukraine from three sides and having direct access from Russia. Russian logistics in Poland would be abysmal. Remember the battle of Kyiv? Imagine that, but MUCH WORSE. I would be surprised if Russia could deploy half the troops they deployed against Ukraine. So from day one, they would be in a heavy numerical disadvantage. And that's day one. In a month, Belarussian railway network wouldn't be functional due to bombings, meaning all the Russian troops would have to retreat or get destroyed due to simply not having ammo, food, fuel and so on.
And reinforcing Kaliningrad? Nope. You would have to be completely incompetent to do that. Which of course means Russia would probably do it, but it would only lead to much higher casualties on their part. Why? Because Kaliningrad cannot be supplied if Poland is willing to shoot to prevent that from happening. Every single ship they send will get sunk long before it reaches the port, with Russia not being able to do anything to prevent that. Meaning all the forces in Kaliningrad will be worse than useless a week from the beginning of the war.
Attacking Poland would be even more of an embarassment to Russia than attacking Ukraine was. With Ukraine, Russia will just lose in a year or two and then retreat back to Russia. With Poland, Russia would lose in months and forever lose an important part of their territory.

Like the partition of Poland, the bolshevik war, ww2 and the communist occupation, everybody is gonna watch. And NATO, specially the U.S r just here for business. Showing u.s. corporates, that they have control over the situation (protect Mc Donalds, raw materials and the rest of the american capital), but in reality they (Pentagon) even want to provoke the bear. They luv to fight russia not on u.s. ground. They never did. America need war, good for the billions of taxmoney for army and own pocket. With five divisions and increasingly growing number of soldiers, Poland will have one of the most numerous armed forces in Europe.

1 - Mentioned NLAWs and Javelins being in greater number for Ukraine before war. Because they were DONATED right before it. Same would happen for Poland.
2 - Totally ignored that Belarus' logistics were screwed up, meaning relying ENTIRELY on them for 180k men would be a disaster.
3 - Somehow failed to realise that attacking into an encircled small point is a REALLY BAD IDEA for Russia when facing vastly better things like PGMs and modern MBTs.

    Let's compare Poland to Ukraine:
    - Poland has better, more advance NATO-standard equipment, Ukraine did not.
    - Poland has anti-missile defense such as Patriot
    - Poland has well trained and motivated troops from the get go.
    - Poland has NATO level command and communication systems
    - Poland has much stronger air force with F-16
    - Poland would not let Russians in, but defend on the border
    - Polish commanders would not betray and let russians in like the south of Ukraine.
    - Polish border is full of forests, hard to pass by heavy equipment.
    - Krabs
    - Poland has NATO/US bases on its territory
    - NATO support would be quicker
    - Also and arsenal of Pioruns, which decimated russian air force is already present.
This would be quick war resulting in total Russian defeat.

All the consideration, including those made in the video don't make any sense:
      - Russia has way more soldiers
      - way more weapon (one billion times more money being spent on it). Let's say tanks: Poland has 797, Russia had more than 13000.
      - easy-conquarable geography.
Without nato, external help and nukes, only two countries may confront Russia: the USA and China. Albeit it seems difficult to imagine the states and NATO separatly, as well as to dig down into such unrealistic battles.

    • @MrJdsenior

@@veirant5004 I know you negated NATO, but that wouldn't be the reality...so, yeah, NATO spends 15X what Russia does on defense. The US alone makes up 11:1 of that.
And you want to talk numbers? The US has more Cobra helicopters, ONE TYPE, than Russia has of all types in total. And the US tech is FARRR more advanced. Russia can't even build a 150 mile range crapolla drone.
Also China is not remotely as capable as the US. They are still trying to get to the point of being able to fight only in their little corner of the world, where the US smashed TWO enemies (with help on the European side) on opposite sides of the globe almost 100 years ago, simultaneously. Enter reality, dude.
And Russia only spent 15X what UKRAINE spent, and they are a VERY poor country. Russia's GDP is nineteenth in the world, and about 1/14th of the US.
Last, but not least, the Russian army has been DECIMATED, both in REAL soldiers, not drunken morons sent from tending bar, and weaponry. They are sending in tanks that go so slowly that they actually sped up the video so people wouldn't laugh, guns that are so damned rusty they would NEVER fire once, and a lot more truly laughable stuff. On one the slide would only go about 1/3 of the way back, so you couldn't even CHAMBER a round, let alone fire it.
They have adapted naval missiles for land use, and their close in ammo depots seem to be going up like fireworks at Disney. When the dumbass Russians move them further back, I expect the US will just send in TACAMS (a next to the bottom weapon of that type) and end those as well. For the life of me, I don't know why we haven't sent in a couple of Tomahawks to end a span or two of that Russia to Crimea bridge...we would have if I'd had the call.
They TRULY ARE, by every parameter that matters, the number two military in Ukraine, as Ukraine is taking back ground fast than the Russians have EVER taken it since about the end of the first month. And the first month they were facing unarmed babies and babushkas, mostly. Russia is a joke, plain and simple, just laughing stock, and I hope the Ukrainians kill every damned invading (and collaborating) Russian in Ukraine that doesn't run away and leave, which they are getting pretty good at, I must admit.

More weapons? Are you talking about those missiles that fail 70% of the time and only 5 % reaches 1km within the vicinity of the target. Dream on. Throwing more stones or sticks won't give them an advantage.
Geography isn't great but it's way more defendable than what Ukraine has and Russia failed there hard.

This scenario is very unrealistic. 1. Poland would not be attacked if Russia would not take Ukraine and the Baltics in the first place. 2. If Poland would be attacked, then Russia would have to fight with Ukraine at the same time (without Poland, Ukraine would be almost helpless). Belarus would risk attack from Ukraine and Baltics 3. There is no way to attack Poland without longer preparation which will be visible a long time before the attack. It would give Poland and NATO time to prepare. 4. Poland would have much bigger support from NATO including modern tanks, artillery, planes, etc. 5. NATO has very strong airpower so Poland would not only fight on its territory but also attack logistic lines (which are very long) in Belarus. I think that logistic lines and military airports in Belarus and Kaliningrad would be destroyed in the first weeks of the war. Sometime after the start of the war, it would be continued mostly on Belarus territory. The biggest risk would be for Belarus in this case, because it would be completely destroyed and Lukaszenka would lose his country. 6. In the end, there would be many casualties, the risk of nuclear war, Russia would risk losing Kaliningrad, and Lukaszenka would risk losing his country. 7. The conclusion: it is better not to even think about attacking Poland, there is no way that Russia and especially Belarus would have benefited from it, only loses.

And from the eastern side - from Belarus - there is a lot of swamps, forests etc. So any infantry/mechanized movements would be easy to stall. Considering your scenario - such war would rather look like a war of who has more long-range missiles/better anti-air protection. Furthermore - while Ukraine had some problems with collaborants, in here - Polish langauge is soo different, that any saboteurs would be easy to find. About morale - we absolutely hate russists, so it is likely many orcs would be found dead after drinking poisoned vodka etc... Whenever I look at these simulations I see that they are comparing numbers here and forgetting about certain conditions that are not described anywhere in popular part of the internet. A couple of examples. 1. Poland has, in addition to the reserves mentioned in the movie, about 300 thousand people who received training before compulsory military service was abolished. These are people who now have local assignments in strategic places and there are "lockers" with weapons and full equipment waiting for them in case of mobilization (I have one myself). These are people of about 35-45 years of age. They can be ready to fight in 1 day. You get a call and have a couple of hours to check in. They may not be professionals, but everyone knows how to handle weapons, shoot, knows the basic tactical behaviour. Everyone forgets/doesn't know about that.
    2. terrain and specifics of the "Suwalski region". (This is the terrain exactly where the Russian assault would have to take place. To the northeast) Does not allow for practical any progress of heavy equipment in this area. There are forests, marshes, lakes and practically zero roads (this is a deliberate measure). Please see for yourself at least a lidar map. This terrain is a nightmare for the attacker. And the Polish defense will be in preemptive positions to obliterate everything in there.
I could give a few more examples but it misses the point under a video of this type. Regards.

Yes - we can be friendly to each other as our cultures are reasonably similar, but once we start talking about history and geopolitics then we are more likely to kill each other than to agree on anything. I know actual stories of Poles who were threaten with knife by Russians for accusing them of invasion and occupation of Poland. Russian see Poles as ungraceful traitors. I wouldn't be surprised if there are less pro-Russian Poles right now than pro-Russian Ukrainians. The numbers are probably comparable in ~5% range. And there is certainly many, many times more pro-Ukrainian Russians that pro-Polish Russians.

Several factors will be in place here.
Yes the Ukrainian army was somewhat larger at the beginning of the war but they had to deal with a border at least three times the size (if you add Belarus) of Poland on three different avenues of approach. Russia has essentially one major avenue of approach through Belarus. The Poles would have to hold a few troops to the north to guard against any incursion from Kaliningrad but the Russians would have trouble putting extra troops in there early without giving the Poles warning. The border between Poland and Belarus is about 420 miles. This would be the main area that the Russians would attack and the main area that the Poles would concentrate from. One thing you haven't taken into account is the need for the Ukrainians to protect against seaborn assault to the south. With the exception of the small area around Kaliningrad (which would be difficult to reinforce) and Belarus the rest of the border of Poland would be secure. The Poles could move everything to where the Russians are attacking knowing that there was no fear of some kind of flank attack.
Most of the much more modern Leopard 2s and PT 91s would be there to meet Russian Armor. The Polish infantry is much better trained and more proficient than the partially trained militias the Russians met with at the beginning of the war. While the militias reaped havoc on a lot of the follow on units in the initial Russian assault the front line units would be much more capable of going toe to toe with the initial Russian thrusts. While Russian artillery fire might prove more effective the assault would also cost a lot more Russian lives.
The infrastructure is much better in Poland. It would be a lot easier to move Polish troops to trouble spots due to better road networks and rail lines than what you see in Belarus. It is highly unlikely the Russians would see any more success against the Polish Air Force than it did against the Ukrainians, especially since the Poles have a much more modern air force and it will know exactly which direction the Russians will be coming from. Short of violating Lithuanian and Ukrainian air space, which would probably get some of the Russian planes shot down en route everything will have to fly in over that 420km front. Most Simply put the Poles could move their air assets back west of Wroclaw and then fly sortie after sortie as the US and NATO tell them every Russian flight inbound. I suspect more than a few AWACS would be airborne outside of Russian fighter intercept range giving the Poles exact information where and when to expect the Russian air force.
The Poles HATE the Russians. There is no part of Poland that has pro Russian sympathies. The biggest advantage the Russians had in Ukraine was support in several areas from the local population. You touched on this with the militias in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk provinces but none of that will be available for troops moving into Poland. Every inch will be contested by locals. There will be absolutely no support what so ever and this will make every bit of movement difficult, especially if the Russians screw up and allow all the Poles the opportunity to put every single thing they see on the internet.
Poland directly borders multiple NATO countries. Even if Poland wasn't a member of NATO in this scenario they are right next to Germany the Czech republis and Slovakia. Anything that the Poles would need could be trucked directly in. Since Poland operates the Leopard 2 there wouldn't be a training issue like the Ukrainians have had. In fact, you could probably hand just about every piece of equipment to the Poles and they could use it almost immediately.
In the end the Poles would throw the Russians back and probably would take Kaliningrad and possibly driven as far as some of the 1945 border areas in Belarus. If you had posted this before the Russian attack in Ukraine I might have thought differently but as badly as they performed there and are still performing has convinced me that a truly modern force, with motivation, would slaughter the Russian forces.

From my thoughts - Couple caveats:
    1) It's really understated in the video how big of a difference NATO-standardised army is in this scenario. Help would not only be quicker because of Polish know how to operate and service NATO equipment (from tanks to small arms ammo), but:
    - Polish battle management systems are already integrated with NATO AWACS, so help from them would be much more direct
    - Polish F-16s being American made can shoot whole array of western munitions. From AMRAAMs (air to air) all the way to JASSMs (long range missile)
    2) Poland being part of EU and more western economy is deeply connected with for example german one. Therefore Bundestag (and also French government) would not hesistate as much pressing "screw business with Russia, full support" button
    3) Logistics is really hard to quantify and I'm not surprised it's not that covered in the video, but important thing is a railway gauge. Ex-Soviet states has gauge incompatibile with European ones, therefore moving supplies in and out by rail much more difficult, not to mention making it easier for Russia. Here the situation is reversed. You can drive a train straight from station near Ramstein base all the way to Suwałki corridor without stops (assuming some operational route)
    4) Remember, Ukraine have seen it coming and changed their military completely. I'm 100% sure that hostilities would not start suddenly and in leading month Poland would put military as a number 1 priority getting every equipment our GDP can buy - with prioritised queue because of an imminent threat. I'm pretty sure we'd have operational F-35s at the start of this (and man they would change things, especially in the air)

    • @karenwang313
      @karenwang313 ปีที่แล้ว +1

This is exactly what I was thinking too. The US would be able to resupply Poland with more equipment since they're all a part of NATO and mostly use the same stuff, unlike the Ukrainians, who are still using old Soviet weapons six months into the war. Your point about Germany is a bit sketchy though, I'm not sure how much 'German support' does for anybody considering how pathetically tiny and underfunded their military is.

@@karenwang313 German army is no that revelant to why I brought them. Because obvious geography they would have to be what Poland is for Ukraine (apart from enormous military aid) - mainly logistical hub for stuff moving in and first shelter for people moving out. These things can not be overstated.
Therefore their approach would matter. A lot.
