There is some things to understand. Jennifer Lawrence isn't just a wife, she's Mother Nature (or maybe Earth itself) trying to care for something precious (the crystal? ). Javier Bardem's a creative force (think God, an artist, anyone demanding!), and the guests represent humanity, kinda messy and taking a toll. Things get CRAZY as the movie goes on, reflecting how we treat the planet. The ending is brutal, but it could be about nature's wrath or humanity destroying itself. "mother!" is up for interpretation, that's the beauty (and maybe frustration) of it!

17:15 - I was on the fence about Blues for many years, but I think I've reached the point in my life where I can finally admit that I really don't like Blues at all. I can certainly understand the talent involved, but I just find it to be extremely repetitive. Jazz has such a tremendous amount of variety that I can get lost in the music for years and never get sick of it.
Hey PP, yes, I did give at least four of Bad Plus' albums a listen to and I do have several superficial/speculative thoughts: 1. I think I would get on socially with the gentlemen involved, if I met them; 2. I cannot criticise the musicianship of each member of the trio/quartet and 3. If I were their manager/A&R rep', I would strip them of all of their earthly possessions and send them someone relatively remote (Native American Spirit Walk or Australian Aborigine Walkabout). In my opinion, the one element which is lacking seems to be one of composition, I sense no 'eye of the tiger' = 'hunger' (Rocky analogy), no struggle/obstacle which has been overcome, I don't feel any stakes to the compositions. Granted, I'm making huge assumptions but If they can address these issues, they can produce material truly representative of their undeniable talent.

1961 is absolutely stunning. Absurdly ahead of its time. Jimmy Giuffre has got to be one of the most unsung heros of modern jazz.
