Thanks for this! I just signed up for BlueSky myself and was considering linking my domain to my profile so this showing up in my subscribed videos was perfect.
Nice video, don't do bluesky or X myself. But if like me, who is registered with company A, but have my DNS with Cloudflare (or another company) then you need to add the files to where your DNS is done. Not trying to be funny about it, but I noticed you always said registrar rather than DNS provider.
If the domain you use for Bluesky is (presumably) the same as your email domain, then your BS name looks like it might be the same as your email address. I'm thinking this might attract the email SpamBots as a result. Valid concern?
@@rteune2416 I have a video prepared already for this. It's good for control of your media if you're a professional/journalist etc. I'll explain more in the video
Idea for a next tutorial on the subject of Bluesky: self-hosting your account (Personal Data Server) Thanks for all your work for homelabbers community!
@@Jims-Garage Just by looking on this account suggest that he may be a one and looking at his name may have suggest from which country that bot is. As a Pole I'm very sensitive to their activity. I know that you want your channel to be politics free (and I fully support this!), I just wanted to point out this problem.
I know this is a bot because it actually spelled "you're" correctly. But a comment like this is a useful indicator of why getting off Twitter (it's always Twitter) is a good idea. I prefer Mastodon (and self host that) but realistically the majority of people I follow settled on Bluesky so I went there too. I have to say that I felt much "cleaner" when I deleted my Twitter a/c - had it since 2007 but you should never stay in an abusive relationship :-)

Thank you!
Love the tutorial and the sweater!

True, important distinction, however in my circumstances it is the same company.
@@Jims-Garage I realise that, it wasn't a criticism just a clarification and TBH I expect most of your viewers probably already knew that.
perfect! thank you
@@stamp-overstock-staring thanks, you're welcome
I followed you for weeks now, even though I really don't have a clue what I"m doing on there.
Haha, thanks for the support. Joining in on the Linux switch?
@@Jims-Garage Sure, can always learn more about Linux. Been messing with Linux Mint for a while but haven't completely gone away from Windows.
I'm fatigued from social media in general, tbh. But good to know for the future.
Yeah, I can't blame you!

Yes, that's a valid concern. Definitely don't use the same name as your email address.
Thanks for the demo and info, have a great day
Thanks, you too!
Hi James, I have heard that it's possible to run a local BlueSky server. Is this of any use? and how would it work. Love your videos.

Thanks, that's already recorded 😁
Do one on a PDS? 😅
In the works
i love bluesky! that is all.
Yeah, I'm enjoying it too TBH
Being on X were just the way to tweet going to BS is just BS, you're so lame.
Nope, being on that bloated advertising machine called "X" is lame. Hopefully it will fall into ruin soon.
Bots make more sense than this comment
