@@kiwi.planner2655 hi! Welcome to my channel! Unfortunately I don't have a video update, but for a few months it stayed just as it was and never really bounced back to health. I ended up just putting it outside where it's barely holding on. 😂
@@ThatFoliageLife Outside? But it's an indoor plant? My kentia palm likes a combination of shade and indirect light. I wouldn't think it would survive outside!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. U did an amazing job trying to rescue the palm. Would love to see more of these vids, and also a maybe a video on how the rescues are doing in the future? 😎
I have a friend's Monstera plant that I am rehabbing for her. When I got it the poor things leaves were a light green and the roots had grown through the nursery pot and filled the base of the cover pot. I've doctored it up and while in my care it has pushed out three new healthy green leaves. I'll have it until the end of September so I have a bit more time w it but I'm confident it's on a good road to recovery. I love these type of video's and would definitely enjoy seeing more. I hope the palm is doing better...it certainly did look better after you gave it some love 👍🌿
Beautiful! It's so rewarding when a plant you've cared for bounced back to health! You're not going to want to give it back haha! Thanks for watching Cheryl x
@@ThatFoliageLife Any ideas as to why? That's how my big one has been feeling for a long time now, got it from the store perky and fresh, went through overwatering from my lovely girlfriend and probably got some rot or general disease, almost died but recovered and been feeling good. But slowly but surely deterioating now a few months later. Gonna give it some grow lights and hope for the best..
OH these poor plants! I guess no one was in church to take care of them last year. Please keep us updated. I think you did a fantastic job with that plant and I thought it looked greener too. It's gonna be happier for sure. I would love to see more videos like this. My red maranta, a dieffenbachia camoflauge, and a ctenathe lubbersiana are all going thru this right now. I wish I could send them you way, LOL.
Yeah the care of them was erratic and inconsistent with everything that was going on for the last 18 months :( Thanks so much for watching and for your feedback. :) Haha I would love to take your plants and care for them in a episode! I don't get many sad plants like this come my way.
Hey Judy, I really enjoyed the video. I have to admit I have a Kentia palm that looked the same but my is from over watering. I feel inspired to give my plant another go. Excellent job.
Mine start to develop brown tips, i dont know it is due to too dry or too wet. I tested the moisture level with my finger, the bottom seems still not moist so i dont know if i should water it now or wait a bit more
I totally enjoyed this video and I hope you can do more of them. The palm looks healthier and happier already! I recently repotted four of my Vandas orchids into self watering with LECA so they are my patients right now! Hoping they don't rot old all of their roots! 😍
This kind of video is very good my nephew just bought me 4 half dead plants last week, I’d love to see how you handle future Ill plants, this one came out great so far 😊
Yeah I don't think I'm going to see any real progress till spring tbh. I'll update in a future video though! And with the prop box, I am waiting for a bit more to happen with growth before I do an update. There's not much action there right now, being winter! I just got a heat mat though so hopefully I'll see some progress there soon. :) x
Very helpful and informative, thank you! Yes please to more videos like this. I have a Chinese money plant that is very sad and droopy. I inherited it as a big healthy plant with thick stalks that stood up. Now it's floppy and the branches hang down out of the pot. I think the pot is too big. Please help!
Thank you for watching! I can't really tell you definitively what's wrong with your plant as there are a whole array of variables that I don't know, but if your feeling is that the pot is too big, then trust your gut. :) These plants love bright indirect light and watering when the soil is dry.
Thank you for the video❤. My Kentia palm is going through the same problem. I’ve tried different things like changing the position, using baby bio house plant food and watering every fortnight but no success. I’m thinking of repotting it. Would really love any other suggestions please? 👏🏽
I find this video very interesting. I hope you will do one about Dieffenbachia because mine has got some yellow leaves (but I don't think it's a problem of overwater, I don't know).
Thanks so much for watching and for the feedback! I don't have a dieffenbachia but if I find a plant like this come along my way I will definitely make a video about it! :)
Very helpful video! We have a Kentia palm and I've just removed a lot of dead growth including some of the base that just came away. I don't know if I am under or over watering it. It's in a 10 inch deep pot. The first two inches are dry the bottom part is wet. I think I am going to remove it from its pot (It looks to be several in one pot) and remove the dead side. The side that remains looks healthy but I am worried may go the way of the other unless I do something. Very keen to learn if it is fine for the bottom of the pot (Guess the water reservoir?) can be wet but not to allow the top few inches to dry out. I have a moisture meter.
@ThatFoliageLife I went away on holiday and my mother killed my plant, I managed to save one stalk. It’s literally one leaf, I’m so sad as it was beautiful! It’s been a year, it’s still alive, a small shoot from the stalk is visible but it’s taking forever!! Can you advise? ❤
Nice work 🦾🥰 I picked up such a palm tree from the street, but almost all its leaves are dry at the ends and there are multicolored spots (whiteish green, bluish, gray, brown, light brown), how can I save it in this case? I wouldn’t want to cut off all the leaves 😭
Hi Barbara! Thank you for watching. I can't really diagnose what the problem is without knowing all the variables, but cutting back the plant usually does the trick for me. 💚
Without seeing the plant, I can't really give you definitive advice, but if you feel like that's the solution for it, I say go with your gut. :) How is it going?
What about pests on these palms... My one has brown fuzzy dots up the stems. It doesn't look like scale . I thought it might be part of the plant as like ferns in the wild. The plant isn't lush like My daughter's one.The stems are clear of any fuzzy spots..they are green and shiny. This was super helpful to understand better how to take care of my Kentia, thanks!I’m very worried about my majestic Kentia Palm and how it’s starting to tilt to one side. I bought it 2 weeks ago and it looked amazing and perky. It’s roughly +2m tall, placed next to a window (no direct sunlight) and have watered it weekly. I believe the pot has good drainage. I’ve also mist it almost daily as it’s pretty damn hot and dry here in Madrid. Leaves look absolutely fine, no brown tips, spots, curling or anything like that. Any clue what may be wrong with it? Would staking it help? Thanks in advance.
You're welcome! Maybe you need to rotate your palm for an even distribution of light. They tend to lean when they're looking for light. With no other symptoms showing on the leaves, I don't think you have anything to be worried about. :) A stake might help too!
@@ThatFoliageLife Thanks so much for your answer! It seems to be going back to normal after a thorough watering. Another one coming today. It's still not 100% as it was, but I can see it's definitely less inclined now. It's right infront of a massive south facing window (no direct sunlight though) but will rotate it every now and then to see if it helps. I was so scared of overwatering, and have never had such a gigantic plant that I might have been overly cautious 🥲
@@pablodelgado3284 Don't worry, over time you'll learn to speak its language, and it will love you right back. :) Also, larger plants are generally easier care than small, young ones, so you've already got that going for you too. :) Take care!
If the growth Central spear is removed the whole plant will die.even if it is tatty do not remove the central leader stem and the palm will replace it.
