THIS WAS A LOFE SAVER!! I just bought my first home and lo and behold the dishwasher was pooling water and I cleaned the filters and the pump no problem still there was pooling I searched for other possible issues and this showed me how to fix the problem thank you ☺️
Make sure that the plug on your garbage disposal was popped out or you connect the hose. If you didn’t new install fence one thing you can check and then if it’s not working, you may need a new pump for the dishwasher or you may have like a piece of glass caught in the fan. Good luck thanks for watching. Happy holidays.
I put a chopstick through one of the holes at the edge of the mesh filter at the bottom of my dishwasher and it detects about 1 inch deep water there. Is it normal? Or should it be totally dry there?
I followed the same however there was no clogging in my hose or garbage disposal on opening. Any further suggestions for me to look into? My dishwasher is Samsung and keeps draining water and then gives the 3 blinking lights.
My dishwasher isn’t draining, I disconnected the drain hose from the disposal and from the pump under the dishwasher. When I blow into the disposal end it seems 100% clogged, I can’t blow at all.
I think it doesn’t matter as long as you’ve got it connected to the right spot on the garbage disposal and the dishwasher itself and it’s not pinched good luck with your project thanks for watching
And it’s definitely gonna take some elbow grease to get that thing off. You may want to replace it with one. That’s more flexible if it’s been on there for a while they get really stuck and you got a pull pretty hard and it’s not a very big space to be working in so it makes it even more difficult. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
@@TomLeeman I removed the entire hose and made sure it was clear with my garden hose. It's still not draining. Does that pretty much mean it's the pump?
Tom, your video was very well done. I appreciate that you got right to the point, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it! thanks for watching

Thank you, this worked
You're welcome!
Great video
Thanks for the visit Good luck on your project with your drain hose and thanks for watching.
Curious if that mold & gunk can get onto the dishes? Ours has mold spots in it & its become a disagreement in our house whether it does or not lol
That pipe leads out, so unless it’s backing up into your dishwasher, clogged you should be OK

Well, there may be some water down in there, but it should all clear out when it drains
What about crud further down the hose? Does it all accumulate near the disposal?
Usually but it could get clogged and other spots which means you could replace the whole hose
@@TomLeeman replaced disposal, my dw hose looked about like yours, rest of pipes were filthy. Everything seems to be draining fine, now.
@@SantosSantos-bf5sz glad to hear it. Good job.
I thought the same thing so I used a turkey bastor and water and shot water in it. I just had a big bowl to catch all the water and crud.

I will have to research that I’m not familiar with the Samsung thanks for watching
@@TomLeeman thank you
I just bought a new house and am having the same problem. We're you able to figure it out???
Samsung. That’s your problem right there.
It can also be a stuck check valve
Yes, that’s a good tip. Thank you.

replace that hose they get clogged up pretty bad
isn't it a one way? It can only come out but not go back in imo
You might need a booster shot after blowing on that Disposal hose!! :)
Great video homie - thank you
I have that same screw driver. Wooden handle. From my grandpa
That’s exactly where this one came from my grandpa
I have one like it too. Now I’m wondering if it came from my grandfather too! It’s definitely possible.
The hose is connected high to the sink. Mine goes down to the bottom , goes through a hole to connect to behind dishwasher…?
I think it doesn’t matter as long as you’ve got it connected to the right spot on the garbage disposal and the dishwasher itself and it’s not pinched good luck with your project thanks for watching
Oh, your hose connection comes off “nice and easy”…how cute. What about when it’s as tight as prom night and the it’s a rigid hose (not flexible)?
And it’s definitely gonna take some elbow grease to get that thing off. You may want to replace it with one. That’s more flexible if it’s been on there for a while they get really stuck and you got a pull pretty hard and it’s not a very big space to be working in so it makes it even more difficult. LMAO
Where dose the flex hose traveling up go?
That’s the outflow that goes to the garbage disposal and then out to the sewer. That’s where the water comes out.
It goes back to the dishwasher pump. It rises out of the garbage disposal per code.some states have to use an air gap system.
How do I drain the dishwasher that has a good amount of water in it?
You could use a shop vac to pull the water out. I had to do that once when I was repairing my dishwasher.
And what if the clog is further down the line? What if the clog is nearer to the dishwasher than the sink?
Another solution would be to purchase a new hose that goes from the dishwasher to the garbage disposal
@@TomLeeman I removed the entire hose and made sure it was clear with my garden hose. It's still not draining. Does that pretty much mean it's the pump?
Never knew garbage went through there?
Yeah, those in the garbage disposal and then down the sewer
Shop vac
Yes a shop back will do that
