@@viero13Unless youve tried them yourself, I wouldn't say you can speak too heavily on them. Firstly, in the case of someone looking for simple home defense against a typically less than near peer threat, your IR signature simply doesn't matter. That's not much of a debate, and unless you're being raided by some SWAT+ level group, your adversary is almost guaranteed to not have NVD capabilities. I think for the average guy just seeking an advantage over a home intruder there really is no need to break the bank for NVD's that are waterproof, long battery life, etc. I have no problems with the buy it nice or buy it twice philosopy, but I just don't think that the average guy is going to need all the capabilities of higher end NVD's
The truth is those goggles technology worth not so much. Thay can see infrared only in the short wave range (IR SW). You can do this night vision with a standard camera phone, lighting up with a IR torch and watching through the screen.
@@fullon763Maybe if you just want to do some observation. The analog intensifier tube provides real-time feedback while a digital camera has rendering delay. The delay makes it challenging to use for things like shooting, driving, hiking, it also is more prone to give the user a headache. Analog Intensifier tubes tend to be more sensitive to ambient light so they don’t require as much additional IR illumination as digital. Not an issue if your driving or hunting, but if it’s a combat situation, you don’t want to be putting out IR illumination at night since the enemy can detect it (through their own NVGs or detection from security cameras/ digital devices as you mentioned). It all depends on the use-case.

You don't need any equipment for this.
Just go to bed in a very dark room, after you wake up, rub your eyes thoroughly and turn on the light.
---
After a person rubs his eyes, a spot often appears that he does not pay attention to, but with a sharp change in the situation, such as a change in lighting or turning the head in dim light, the brain can “complete” a face, figure or movement from the spot for a moment at the edge of vision.

Isn’t this a redundant statement?
@@viero13 I talked about efficiency, it was really incredible because of how cheap it was, of course, less battery, etc., but I didn't talk about durability..., but okay.
idk 👍
The "Military Grade" is a white phosphor PVS14... It's a clean intensifier tube Gen 3, so I'd say it's between $3-4k. Not $40k.
The truth is those goggles technology worth not so much. Thay can see infrared only in the short wave range (IR SW). This mean the environment need to be lighted up with IRsw waves since the matter itself don't emitting waves in this range.
@@oakleysv9600 In combat situation is not even better use long wave range vision? I think so, because don't require additional IR lightin up since it shows the intensity of radiation emitted by the matter..
@@fullon763It all depends. If you’re fighting in a trench like Ukraine and Russia and the enemy are advancing at night, the long range is probably best.
If you’re out moving to an objective, the analog tube and a LAM device (Like a full-power PEQ15) is going to be best. Having a magnified device over your eye while trying to walk is a nightmare.
If I recall correctly, the PVS-14 was never white phosphorous. The PSQ-30s and above were the first. I personally loved the PSQ-20B. Thermal overmatch FTW.
