space elevators might be possible if you remove alot of the lines needed to get higher. meaning for example if you use water to push the platform up a long way then the rest of the way you use the wires. imagine a few kilometers tall water tower that has segmented pumps that fill up water tier by tier then at the top of the building you connect the wires needed to pull the rest of the way and have some thrusters that give the platform some extra lift and extra stability.
My idea is actually very close to a hyperloop. Putting the Pod on the outside is wrong, on the inside is correct, and protect it from any type of space junk. The outer walls can be both hard, flexible, and hunny comb shape straw down to earth from the space station.

Whatever the diameter of the lowest point equals the height Everest is 12km at the ground and goes up 9km So if space is 100km off the ground the lowest point would have to be about 135km diameter There could be a way to cut that into 100km at the base by raising it a bit but that's the size needed If if went 30,000km off tvw ground the diameter at the bottom would have to be about 45,000km roughly I believe 100km is feasible and well worth it

I do not understand how a space elevator works. The connecting wire from the ground will be travelling increasingly slower as one goes down, than the satellite/station and this will no longer be in free fall and will again drag on the satellite. If one has a higher counterweight, it will be travelling faster, and again drag on the satellite. One cannot escape the need for rockets.
Space is big. It's like saying that because there are millions of ships sooner or later some of them will hit a lighthouse in the middle of the ocean. Just in space the emptiness is 100 times the void area of the ocean and and there are a lot less satellites than ships. Both the station and the satellites can move a bit if needed the cable isn't made of glass it will have probably a mile of flexibility in any direction given the length.
Pls never allow this to ever ever happen.. We have people without homes or health.. stuff that off. Humanity is needed before anything like this. I hope so much this never ever happens!
Never buy anything you don't need or you're a huge hypocrit. Especially creating a space elevator would solve massive issues and help billions of people

Every satellite in orbit around the Earth crosses the equator twice per orbit. A collision with a space elevatoe is inevitable sooner or later.
