ADHD people will have a very tuff time reading long paras. You read 3 lines and completely forget what was there in the first line. Again restart. Read 5-6 lines, again forget the last sentence.
Sometimes you read an entire para (but mind is present somewhere else) and have absolutely no clue what you just read.
Anyone with me on this? Like/comment

      Yes, try Ashwagandha tablets.
To some extent it gives better focus and good sleep.

  • @adultADHDindia
    @adultADHDindia ปีที่แล้ว +103

Important to note that adult ADHD patients face many issues:
    1. We have only 2 drug options versus 8 in US. Drug lag of almost 30 years exists.
    2. People still think ADHD is a kids disorder and deny existence of adult ADHD. Even doctors and therapists.
    3. Stigma of various forms is common in our society.
    4. Psychiatrists only give depression diagnosis and ignore adult ADHD. It is highly underdiagnosed in India.
    5. Adult ADHD gets disability status (in other countries) so patients can function better in society. We don’t.
The cost to society of untreated adult ADHD is huge. From road accidents to lost business to unemployment to lost lives.
Aim is to bring more awareness to adult ADHD patients’ rights and also public health costs of untreated adult ADHD.

Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Never addictive. Thank you for sharing this point!

ADHD brain is beautiful. You just have to know how to work with your brain. Ye mat socho kitna karna h aur kya pending h bas socho jitna hoga aaj ..utna kar lungi and you will be suprised on how much you will cover!! Dont decide targets for the day rather let yourself dive into whatever it is that you have to do without envisioning goals.

I'm mocked and made to be the butt of the joke pretty much everywhere due to my distractibility or my inability to stop thinking about a certain thing and be oblivious to ongoing conversation, the group will roast me to the point I couldn't stand up for myself anywhere.
I'm mostly distracted, or if something triggers thoughts about bitter past I'll be dissociated which made me quit several jobs due to be way they label me as stupid or joke about my attention. But if I were to brainstorm alone, in an interested topic then that's fine.
I told my friends, I'm good at building visual narratives even though they know I had to playback 20 seconds of movie every 5 mins due to my distraction. I built a game in godot in around 10 days, even though I used multiple tutorials and bugs, I was able to get the narrative good enough to convey something in a visually interactive manner.
I built incomplete and in urgency, with hopes they will understand I can do things but I need help regarding attention. All I got was how pathetic I was acting for validation from them, the game was ugly mess. Sure, only if I had enough time or less judgement calls with labelling me, I wouldn't have to prove myself to friends or feel unworthy at a job.
And the oldies(45+) are even worse, they're the ones justifying corporal punishment and there's no way to explain adhd to them.

Even a few teenagers might have mild forms of it, but most of them find it out later, and might struggle to find help when their parents don't like the idea of their kids being "different" or "flawed" in some sense and going to a doctor for "correcting" the way their brains work.

Parenting has taught me so much; it feels like becoming a mother has made me a better person. I struggle to take care of my children's well-being, especially my eldest, who is different from others. People would say, 'You were like this too, you'll understand.' But I still remember the traumas of my childhood, where everyone disrespected me.
While searching for counseling for my daughter at 28, I discovered I'm an ADHD person. My daughter also has ADHD. I'm grateful I recognized and addressed it. I wish every parent would prioritize their child's behavior and mental health issues."

It was a huge relief for me just knowing that it has a name, a neurological condition, (thanks to a video by Dr. Russell Brakley i came across) and not me as an individual.
Rejection Sensitivity means not even wanting to take an initiative towards any relationship (friends, family, colleagues anyone)
People say find a passion and you will have focus, i have so many interests and that too I can't keep up with. My never ending thoughts won't let me execute anything.
Work is tiring or overwhelming even though i am good at my job. Checking the sent email for the 5 th time knowing very well i have sent it.
Add overthinking, self criticism and all your time is gone and then i try to do things late in the day and struggle to get sleep.
I just feel great putting this out there.
I could hardly find any videos or content of ADHD in India. Hope there is more awareness, sensitivity on this

Please can someone recommend a good psychiatrist for diagnosis in mumbai or other part of maharashtra. The ones I tried just label it as depression but I am not depressed I just dont get things done. I am relate with almost all symptoms and all videos or books out there about ADHD but docs in indian just dont accept that an Adult can have ADHD.

ADHD is a very exaggerated disorder!... Yes, you'll be much better able to function when on medications but it's nowhere near as disabling as Depression

Exaggerated??? Wtf r u talking abt mam??
ADHD is a life long struggle, due to Adhd u develop anxiety and depression. U can cure depression but ADHD ??
I'm was suffering from depression 2 years back , offcourse it's deadliest at its peak. But ADHD is a slow poison which kills ur soul everyday and u become depressed 🫥

@rachael3050 It's just Depression making you feel worst... Remove it, and you would see it's exaggerated
