@@angelovalavanis2314 Not really. It's roughly the same price. But for $34k you can get the Hyundai Sonata Limited (K5 sibling) with the digital gauge cluster. But I don't see the worth while of having it. As the K5 is more 'sporty' looking. and the analog gauges imo fit it more.

Also it depends if you have a trade in and how much you own. It depends which trim level you buy and so on. But anywhere from $300-$550 on average.
I had a 2014 Kia Optima SX. Had the same constant creaking and rattling from the sunroof. Drove me insane. That and other issues caused me to get rid of it and get a Lexus ES.
I bought one last week!! It’s so much fun, such great torque. Biggest flaw is that it is front wheel drive but honestly the torque steer is practically non existent compared to a focus ST I test drove.
I drive a 2016 optima and I was hoping they would address their aggressive traction control. It’s so awful driving my car in the lightest precipitation. As soon as the car senses the tiniest slip is cuts down power tremendously. I really wished they would’ve fixed that. Overall I think the k5 is amazing. Up there with the new accord as my favorite in this class

Unpopular opinion: I think the EX is the best-looking K5. I still think they should have kept the Optima name (and why can't you get AWD on all trim levels??) but this looks like a really solid effort. Always liked the Optimas and I like this. For $28k it seems like a great deal. Much more desirable to me than an Accord or Camry, and more current than the Mazda6.

The thing about the traction control with Kia/Hyundai is that they've done it in the way where it cuts power since the Genesis coupe, so I don't think that's gonna change anytime soon.
IMO they are far less vanilla and generic looking than the white ones. The big bright amber DRLs make the K5 stand out much more than anything its surrounded by

I have a 2019 Optima and when I test drove the new K5 GT-line model it’s a totally different car, different suspension, much better, and the cabin in the noise is much lower, even other channels say it has the isolation of a luxury car.
Hi there! I have the EX premium package, the only thing I haven’t figured out is if they’re is any way to change the SiriusXM interface. I used to have the Optima and I like when it shows my channels as a drop down in a list. This one looks kinda complicated the way it is set up now.
i want one when i get into equity with my elantra GT im gonna probably swap over to this thing. So much to love about it. Perfect for yuppies and guppies who want something nice that doesn't kill the budget!

Volkswagen offers it and they call it storm gray. Mercedes also has it and maybe BMW. Honda offered it for awhile and I’m not sure if they do currently
The Apple CarPlay can’t use the entirety of that screen? Kinda strange. I’m also kinda shocked that it doesn’t have an electrochromic rear view mirror in the EX trim.
Why does everyone say the K5 is a replacement of the Optima? For me it’s just a redesign as the K5 name just replaced the Optima name, not necessarily the whole car. I don’t know someone has to agree with me
How did you get the reverse camera to only show one red square of lines ? If that makes sense ? Mine has 2 and one stays still while the other one turns when you do
I agree. I would have gotten the EX AWD. But AWD is IMO necessary in this car. It handles WAY better than the FWD version. I put about 30 miles on each FWD and AWD... the AWD version handles and feels much better. Even over bumps, I think they upgraded suspension with AWD... but there is a noticable difference.
I think they do / it’s the GT that doesn’t get AWD. And Topher said here that you can get AWD. Please do a little research and confirm what I’m telling you so you can go get one
I absolutely love heated seats that are super hot. That’s the one complaint I have with my Accord. I live in Canada and the heated seats is not as hot as I would like on the highest setting. Like I want it to BURN me.

@@joelarson7496 Personally in my experience, I test drove a 2020 kia sportage and a 2020 hyundai tucson and even though they were really just reskinned models of each other, the kia felt less solid, so I bought the hyundai instead. This might just be my experience so I recommend test driving them yourself
Topher's content is largely different to other car reviewers out there. His gentle voice, coupled by how he produces the content is easily digested.

The K5 GT Line AWD is miles better. Especially with the grey and red interior that is what I have.
It handles VERY well.
Kia has GOT TO GET RID of that ugly logo. Such a nice car and the logo literally makes it look way cheaper quality than it is.

Apple CarPlay can use the entire screen,you just need to adjust it that way in the settings.

On my Mini Cooper, on the steering wheel, I have to press down to go to the next track as well. I always thought that was backwards.

I definitely preferred the Forte GT. Same engine, more power, lighter car. Which means it's much quicker. Fully loaded and out the door for $23k.

If you're going to be driving in snow, get this. It is available with awd, otherwise the sonata has better build quality (kia < hyundai < genesis)
