I played the last version of this video of yours during my Call of Cthulhu RPG campaign. These voices are perfect for the whispers of the Old Gods in the minds of mortals.
Ysharrj was lore wise the most powerful and largest it's why Amanthul literally tore him out of the planet but even his blood caused so much issues for millenniaafter. Nzoth may have been the "weakest" but he was the most patient, cunning, and clever. Cthun was straight forward and the least patient of them all. Powerful but didnt properly prepare. A head first kind of guy. Yogsarron was the most deceitful and and for a time the most effective. But he like cthun was not patient enough and didnt plan and got impatient near the end if his reign.
Yoggsaron was said to be the strongest, requiring the most of the titans minions to even contain. I cant speak for ysharaj though. Yogg was an absolute badass
I dunno if he was impatient, he didnt begin an invasion or anything. More, I would say it was simply bad luck that the Explorer's Guild stumbled upon Ulduar. N'zoth had more success simply because he was more hidden compared to Yogg'saron who was kinda exposed within his prison.

not just for nostalgia, but i do think c'thun is the most terrifying, there is something so creepy about the really direct way it speaks, also i think less voice modulation is better, let the lines make me scared not the R E V E R B

@@duskbringer4583 cthun and nzoth are both alive, once again the only way to kill an old god for sure is to rip them out of the planet, besides that they may “die” but can always come back to life. They exist outside the cycle of life and death
I think C'Thun had the best voicelines, the other old gods make suggestions to betray, murder, and hate. C'Thun demands it. You WILL die, your friends WILL abandon you, your hear WILL explode. He is direct, he is cold, he is fear. He also doesn't need to boast his power, because his power is felt through the delivery of his lines.
Y'Shaarj says "You WILL die when you leave," and "Your allies WILL leave you behind" But yes, I heard it's suggested C'thun is the strongest of all old gods. My favorite is Yogg'Saron tho lol
I would like to say Y'shaarj is cannonicly the strongest old God in terms of strength. However N'zoth is the weakest in strength but strongest in manipulation.
@@grayvestowne5751 Dark shamans (particularly under the Twilight Hammer) enslaved elementals. This allowed them to remain empowered and fueled a lot of their magic/tech
I'd like them to keep it as close to the original as possible, though. A little more modern autotune is fine, but keep it close to the same "schizophrenia-demon"-vibe as possible.
N'Zoth literally reveals to the player that Sylvannas will betray them. That she will finally release her arrow. Her story of descenting to seemingly madness was sparked back in WotLK, when she had killed herself. Except that she had witnessed a fate far worse than death itself. Something she wishes to avoid at all costs. Her story later continues to develop when Legion begins with her being proclaimed Warchief by a weak, dying Vol'jin who we later find out was put into a spectral state that even the sides of light AND death had no power of creating. That leaves only the Void with such a power. Sylvannas wishes nothing more than to avoid a fate she had witnessed...so a bargain had been struck. A plan devised. She bares the very Blade of Servitude. The Blade of Xalatath. Crafted as a symbol of eternal servitude to the one who created it...N'Zoth. God of the Deep. Emperor of the Abyss. Her arrow shall hit it's mark soon as stated from his very words. Her trap will finally spring, bringing us straight to Queen Ashara, who finally states that Sylvannas had wanted this to happen. To finally offer what N'Zoth desired most for his final release. Our untamed power contained inside the Heart of Azeroth.
You know what I really like about Old God's? The Weaker they are in their hierarchy the more dangerous they get. Sure there is no way to confirm that for Y'Shaarj but I imagine being the strongest old god it would attempt to muscle its way through Azeroth with little to no planning. Yogg-Saron the second strongest among the group and strongest old god that survived can also just brute force its way to victory but also utilities deception and he is quite patient. C'thun the 3rd in the pecking order isn't all that patient like Yogg-Saron but he is still more dangerous since he is in control of the main army the old gods used to deploy which overthrew the elemental lords in the first place. He doesn't need a grand plan when he has the largest military at his command and outnumbers his foes forcing them to take dangerous gambles to strike directly at the source. And Lastly N'Zoth the weakest of the 4. And even as the weakest his might is still unchallenged by anything that is not a titan or a old god. So he can also just use brute force if he has too. But instead he is the most intelligent and most cunning of the bunch. While he has less assets then any other old god he just patiently waits and sets up multiple plans for a total dominant victory. Slowly over century he builds up his army and sows confusion among his adversary's. And only when he is certain of victory will he unleash the doomsday scenarios he has prepared for so long. And at this point any counterplan you come up with N'zoth has most likely accounted for and already set something in motion to rob you of your strongest assets.
Nzoth was always known as the weakest but also the most cunning, I truly believe there was a reason why out of all the Old Gods he alone was able to escape.
Honestly blew my mind when I found out Darin de Paul was voicing N'Zoth and I couldn't imagine a better choice. SO GOOD! He does such a great booming voice for such a short, unassuming, and sweet man.

"If you think about our cosmology and the way that creatures of magic work as opposed to mortals, mortals die they go to the Shadowlands. If you fought the Legion, you fought demons. If you kill them on Azeroth, where do they go? Back to the Twisting Nether, which is the place where they come from." "So if you think about other magical creatures and think what happens when you kill them on Azeroth, where do they go? There's the potential for things like that to kind of happen. We try to have this cosmology of the way things work, and that's something that you can apply to other things. And I think the old gods are an interesting case where, you know, we've defeated one version of them and who knows if another manifestation will eventually take place.""

That's really cool to hear, I'm glad people are getting different forms of enjoyment out of both versions of the upload
I love that it’s actually N’Zoth that’s most based of Cthulhu and not C’Thun
0:25 "Your heart will explode" plot strings flowing since vanilla.
What is this, Kill Bill?
C'thune predicted the world first attempts on him XD
@@killerspartan666 my information comes from Chronicle volume one and yeah yogg was the second most powerful
@@killerspartan666 Probably meant the strongest of those that were still around.
Say whatever you want but Old Gods are the best enemies/antagonists made up so far in any fantasy lore.
Yeah Lovecraft was really onto something, and lucky for blizzard, the IP fell into public domain!
All of that is thanks to lovecraft's work

He sounds like a feeble moron. Y'shaarj's voice and sayings are the scariest... because he sounds very human.
@@Tommybotham Nah. Cthun sounds very calm yet sinister. No feebleness at all.
@@Doomfoolable I really don't think it was. Have you listened to videos which reconstruct what a schizophrenic might be hearing in their heads? That's sinister and scary. C'Thun sounds too old, too weak and too... "direct" in his messages.
Yogg'Sauron needs to chill, but I haven't heard N'Zoth too much so I'm yet to make a good conclusion about him. All I know is, Y'Shaarj is scary because he sounds like an actual human with relatable thoughts.
Auron12786 Cthun is Phelgmatic. He's the most HAL of the old gods. He's scary because he isn't relatable, he's insectoid. Coldly logical.

I'm still convinced yogg-saron is still alive.
All the old gods besides Ysharaaj are still alive. Their true bodies span continents and cannot be killed they can just be defeated before retreating. Ysharaaj was ripped out of the planet itself by the titans and its heart was destroyed after Garrosh attempted to use it so hes dead for good
@@nothingtoseehere8865 I mean I doubt N'Zoth is around anymore... Not sure of status quo on C'Thun, story is that Cho'Gall fused part of it to himself, so I am not sure if it is dead or just catonic atm.

Y'Shaarj says "You WILL die when you leave," and "Your allies WILL leave you behind"
But yes, I heard it's suggested C'thun is the strongest of all old gods.
My favorite is Yogg'Saron tho lol
I would like to say Y'shaarj is cannonicly the strongest old God in terms of strength. However N'zoth is the weakest in strength but strongest in manipulation.

Every time I hear Y’shaarj I just get this feeling of anxiety and despair like he’s trying to corrupt me with the Sha.
He is the sha...
ReneDrawsTV The Sha formed after his death

All for it to be over in a single quick patch, in which we're pretty much just skipping passed, in order to get to The Upside Do-... Oh Shadowlands.
Shame. These guys really were some great characters and had massive potential.
KyleBJobey there could always be more old gods. The void lords could make more or maybe we travel to another planet where the old gods were succesful
They're not getting skipped at all, you might be surprised. Future Shadowlands patches might be Ny'alotha, or even the entire next expansion.
HGungnir HD untrue. We go to ny’olotha as the raid in visions of nzoth patch. Though maybe even old god souls go to the shadowlands and We find them there.
@@morbital8990 What i said is still relevant, blizzard never makes a whole new landscape without reusing it later multiple times, this implies that the black empire might comes back and they will reuse those structures and theme. @@digitalninja5941 "Q: Third Chronicles have information about Old Gods. Every Old God, except N'Zoth, have been beaten, but not "killed". It is true? Are Old Gods like C'Thun or Yogg-Saron still alive?
AA: I would say we should consider them dead. However as with all things in World of Warcraft and the Warcraft's universe dead isn't always dead. If there was a coming of forth of the Old Gods or herald of the Old Gods come down from the great dark-- I can see that easily happening. Not saying that happening, I'm just saying death isn't the end of the line in World of Warcraft, and it really never has been. I think that's kind of been from your character to the world around you. There is a cycle." this is from 2018 with Alex Frasabi
"Question: Can you confirm or deny whether the old gods are dead? We've got a lot of people who think that we've only fought manifestations, and their true forms lie dormant somewhere. Are we maybe going to see more of that?
Answering: Steve Danuser
Confirms that we've killed their forms, in the cases of Yogg'Saron and C'thun despite echoes of them still seeming to permeate the world.
"If you think about our cosmology and the way that creatures of magic work as opposed to mortals, mortals die they go to the Shadowlands. If you fought the Legion, you fought demons. If you kill them on Azeroth, where do they go? Back to the Twisting Nether, which is the place where they come from."
"So if you think about other magical creatures and think what happens when you kill them on Azeroth, where do they go? There's the potential for things like that to kind of happen. We try to have this cosmology of the way things work, and that's something that you can apply to other things. And I think the old gods are an interesting case where, you know, we've defeated one version of them and who knows if another manifestation will eventually take place.""
