Thank you Rabbi Brietowitz. I wish I could sit in person and listen to your shiurim and learn face to face. Been looking for a Rebbe that speaks from the heart of Torah, with rachamin and can thread bits of the secular world for examples or a joke or two. Very thankful to Hashem for the algorithm that introduced your TH-cam channel to me. Is hagacha pratis, Hashems algorithm? 🤔 thought for the day. May you be blessed to reach more yidden that are looking for a rebbe like you to bring them closer to Torah. Thank you TH-cam for creating platform for Torah to be taught in all the 4 corners of the world. 😊
Great shiur as always. My question about the Judges sefer and more specifically the dreaded civil war against the tribe of Beyamin, why all the deaths and killings when the Torah was already been given and somehow established. How can the Jewish people fall so low to forget the basic one Mosaic law of killing a person, let alone a Jewish fellow. It is puzzling. I can only surmise that the Torah was not yet formalized for all klal Yisrael to take heed. Are there any other factors that led to the civil war besides the coventional story we hear about the rape and murder of the woman by the Benjaminitea?
The land still only is fruitful for the Jèws. My mother visited Israel many years ago. She told me that the green line was called that because on the Israeli side it was green and on the Arab side it was desert. I only learned a few years ago that it was called the green line because the armistice line was drawn with green ink. If one travels from Jerusalem to Maale Adumim you can travel through desert and know that one is near Maale Adumim because there is vegetation, initially sparse, but becoming denser as one approaches the Jewish town
6:08 Yasher Koach and thank you for this shiur filled with chidushim for me and I'm sure others. Not to worry, R'Breitowitz, i will buy you a shirt to wear on Purim, with text that prominently carries the self depreciating but humorous line "...four out of three Americans can't do math..." Tizke L'Mitzvos!
@yiboneh what is the source of Joshua lifting the restriction that daughters who inherit should marry within their own tribe? I can't find it anywhere.
I think you should read the book Behold a People by avigdor miller p.186-200..the age of righteousness ..where the jewish people had no king and in 400 years there was only 2 bad insadences it was not a time of lawlessnes but a time of greatness never seen befor or after
תודה רבה .

Thanku so much. May you go from strength to strength עמועש
very informant thanks
Not INFORMANT; that is a PERSON, a noun; but rather, INFORMING, a continuously acting verb. Good thought, though. 🎉 Thanks.
Thank you!
Yitzchak.... that is part of my brother's Jewish name. I am Mordecai. My grandfather was Eliezer. The Kingdom of God is coming.

@5:50
It's the way we all want to die, peacefully in our sleep, but this scenario was most likely wrought with fear.

Isn't there a Machlokes between Bavli and Yerushalmi regarding the last year?
