Floor Jansen is my all time favorite dutch singer. I love her speaking voice especially her beautiful eyes. She makes me smile /laugh. Floor is a real dutch beauty and angel at the same time. I love and adore her so much. She is my dream singer. 😍😉😊😇😄😅💖😻😸😹

They so often demonstrate that not only are they exceptionally talented but that has to come from somewhere, has to be nurtured and then maintained. Floor is such a natural at this and Matt is a great subject for this episode. I'm not overly aware of Trivium's music, but will have a good listen.
Hearing how you guys prepare really makes us think about how much work you put into warming up to put on the best show possible. Several singers could learn a lot from you both. I hope you one day record together, that would be an epic song!
I was a little bit down, because of the postponing of the nightwish shows at the ziggodome, but this interview makes the evening a lot better. Very interesting, two professionals, both true perfectionists in their craft, both parents, both very humble, with a mutual respect for each other!🤘

Thank you for a great Floor Finds. It was so interesting to hear you two talk about how you work with yourselves and your brains - to get the brain make your voices work the way you wants. I believe you both have a huge insight in how you function - giving the "computer" the right kind of juice to function properly, keeping the "trolls" / disturbence away. Also the part about recharging 👍 It's so inspiring to hear how others do, to keep the focus and ability to perform intact. That ability is used in so many ways, from complexed engineering, heart surgery, motivation of human resources - and to our children!! - and to all kinds of hobbies. I honestly think this was your best episode, because you both went so deep, showing your individual differences and similarities in how you maintain yourselves. Thank you - that was so inspiring 👍

Being in a "Flow State" seems to be the same phenomenon that athletes describe as being, "In the zone". Time seems to slow and Instincts and muscle memory just do their job automatically.

I recognize being in a flow state myself. Mostly in video games. I would personally describe it as "being active and relaxed at the same time, where your muscle memory takes front and center in your consciousness instead of your thinking mind". In video games it's usually while doing something semi grindy, where you just dodge and hit things without thinking or really paying much attention, that I'm very familiar with. In sports, like table tennis, when in a flow state the bat will feel like it's twice the size of normal and things are easier to do, because you're just in the zone and seem to have a solution for almost everything.

Wow..as an (ex-)singer this was so interesting. I never got even close to your level of professional singing, but playing in bands for over 30 years I recognize sooo much af what you guys talk about regarding the voice, performing, mindset and things that affect the voice. I remember being angry and envious with bandmembers because they didn't seem to understand I had to get enough sleep, or that I couldn't eat/drink like them because it all affected my voice. I realize now that I needed to practice a LOT more and I truly admire how you guys work with your voices. It's an eye-openeer to me that the sheer amount of work, dedication and effort you have to put in, to actually make the voice work properly is so major - and how much the body and mind are connected to singing... Almost makes me want to take up singing again LOL... Well this was all great. Now I have to dig deeper into Trivium... \m/
