- I recorded this audio in a live session with Kieran Brady (Whistle) in Bethlehem PA, inspired by "Bethlehem Steel" and it's story. Such an amazing sight. A tough story that has touched many people down the days, regardless of their own industry. I hope you like the footage i put under the track. Video recorded with Stuart Mckinnon

I dread the day my father leaves this world. For me he was a giant that could hold and stop the world. A man unyielding, still full of love. For he is the one who taught me how to be a man and gave me the strength to teach my son so he may gain the strength to teach his. So I raise my glass to those who have lost their fathers and those who will for time stops for no man however big he may be.

FANTASTIC George - Live about 1 hour away from Bethlehem PA in OH and am the daughter and granddaughter of Steel workers and I will never forget the loss of the entire industry piece by piece and the "Ghost Towns" it made of so much of our OH and PA area. You have truly captured the essence of the reality we lived through - had to pull our lives up by the boot straps. THANKS George - You paid homage to REAL people and message.

I just got my Tribute to George Donaldson, DVD from Celtic Thunder. It is very nice but I cried nearly all the way through. Such a tragic loss.There will never be another like him. He will be missed.

George is our "Working Man", our "Ordinary Man" who has an extraordinary talent of telling stories of the folk that need to be told. interpreting other's work, or putting his own words and music together to elicit emotion and thought to make us want to be better individuals. His trusting, soothing voice is the voice of the people. :)
Reminds me of the steel mills in Birmingham Alabama U.S.A. It has been so rough on the economy and all the families

This is very well done. As the daughter of a man who worked in a factory for General Electric, I can relate to this song. We were fortunate, as there were a few strikes over the years, but the job remained. The working man is really dependent on the industry that employs him. Thanks for this, George.....now I need to find a tissue.

HE WAS CATHOLIC THEY HAD A MASS WHEN HE DIED AT HIS CHURCH, I THOUGHT MOST sCOTS WERE PRESBYTERIAN OR METHODISTS, ARE THE REST OF CELTIC THUNDER CATHOLIC ?
Rebecca Meister I think there are actually a lot of Irish Catholics in Glasgow, Scotland, and that's where he's from, so that would explain why he was Catholic. I think at least some of the other CT guys are Catholic but I'm not 100% sure. Some (Keith, Damian, and Ryan) are from Northern Ireland, but there are Catholics as well as Protestants there too, so it's hard to tell.

+Rebecca Meister , more Catholics than U think, esp in Glasgow. Where, after WW2 there were many Italians & Poles & even now more Poles coming in2 UK. I believe part of the Highlands there were still many Catholics during the reformation. It varies from city 2 city.The Republic of Ireland, the ;largest part of Ireland is predominately Catholic.
Maria Matonti Yes and it seems like WALES has many catholics not surprising because during the reign of Henry the eighth his first daughter Mary Tudor insisted they were Catholic despite her father's decree that they were church of England [anglo-saxan] she became known as bloody Mary after she began killing protestants, anybody of royal descent shares the church of England religion not sure what they believe though.
