Battery life and low light camera performance are my two main questions. Looking to upgrade from my mi4 and kinda stuck between this one and the One plus 3. Will you also review the Mi5s Plus?
3200mah battery and SD821 I don't imagine it will win any records but it should be okay and at least it does charge quickly. Battery life will be covered in the review. I'm sure the LeEco Le Pro 3 with 4000mah will last quite a bit longer. I'll be reviewing the Mi5S Plus when it arrives next week.
guess I'm gonna stick to my black mi5 I really like Xiaomi but I hope they change the design with the mi6 I mean i usually love white phones.. why can't they color the border around the screen just like the front with a tiny black bezel to separate like Apple or meizu it's not like the bezel is huge or anything but the color just distracts me

the black version looks so much better just because you can't see the black bars If you're going to make the "screen size body" edgeless then the actual screen size should be edgeless aswell Everything else with the phone is pretty awesome
NO offense, but MI5 PRO is rocking a much better build quality, Ceramic back, also it has a IR blaster, OIS, and overall a more unique and beautiful design. This is a big step down in my opinion. Not loving this iPhoneMI look!

chris are you a god!!??? getting this phone so quickly, will you do the mi5s plus as well?? although i know your relatively bad dual cam experience with the cool 1, by the way i heard the dual cams for the cool 1 only came into play for slr mode. lastly will you test the ultrasonic fingerprint with some water/maybe oil on your finger, the cameras look jumpy with a bit of focus breathing
I'll get the Mi5S Plus, in fact I have more interest in that one as I find 5.15" a bit small. I prefer at least 5.5". I'll see if I can add do an ultrasonic finger test with oil and water.

yes it is. i choose oneplus 3 because i really loved stock android, and one plus has a lot of custom rom. oneplus 3 won for camera, speed test open app, great multitasking(cos it has 6gb of ram) and many more in my opinion. yes i agree for the design i prefer xiaomi mi5 pro ceramic black, but for bulid quality oneplus 3 won, check jerryrigeverything. everything is back to the personal itself. (im using xiaomi mi5 and now use op3 for dailiy driver)
Only first on the announcement and launch. Market availability is a different story. Xiaomi Mi5s and the plus beat them to it as both are already available in the market (few days earlier than the ZF3 Deluxe)

Thanks for the review! What my question is how come the company did not convert the nanosim slot to hold the micro sd card. All my phones have dual sim slots which can be upgraded to have a sim slot and microsd storage.
With the chinese rom you have english in every tab in phone, and you can easily google play store bij yourself? Link? and you can simple unlock on this version, or is it possible on the software if you get them to install multilang and google play?

If the apps in the background for too long they have to reload. But it's super quick and wifi and 4G is very quick. Wifi range and downloading seems one of the fastest I've tried. The UFS 2.0 storage also is super quick.

Well it looks like I'm still getting the V20 when it comes out, as the V20 addresses a few issues about the g5 and v10. The only problem I'm seeing about the V20 so far is a little bit of backlight bleed.
Glad I went for the mi5, it's only slightly worse than this specs wise, is cheaper with more mature software and OIS. Not sure why they make this new one so much thicker and heavier, as the spec changes don't seem to justify it. I guess its the extra heft of the metal?

16mp sensor of mi5 is really mid range one and doesnt give much quality boost comparing to mi4 while this one does. ois is good, but not every shot needs it. mi5 design is nice , but no real wood back covers make it unpractical. So, 200 extra mAh , 2.5d and new module make this phone want it

There is no OIS because Xiaomi didn't want the camera to stick out. Pretty strange for me.
The glass is advertised as sapphire glass, so it shouldnt scratch with just normal wear and tear.
