Wow! 75% of my travel research is conducted on TH-cam because I’m a visual learner. This is hands down the best Maldives video on this platform. Descriptive, detailed with beautiful people of color but displaying the culture, food, and variety of islands is what truly set this video apart. I travel for more than photos & beaches so I’ve put the Maldives off. It looked like a place that would get boring after a couple of days for a solo traveler and I didn’t want to spend thousands to be bored. You literally changed my view. Excellent job!

I thought the Maldives was boring prior to this video. American here. My Wife is Maldivian. Maldives is my second home. The nuts you were chewing are called "Fou" in Dhivehi (pronounced Ff-oh). They're areca nuts wrapped in betel leaf, sprinkled with cinnamon. Customarily eaten at the end of every meal as a pallete cleanser.

The Vegemite thing is called "rihaakuru" which is just thickened fish broth. They don't taste good on its own but taste amazing as a condiment or to bring flavour to some dishes.
